Yea I noticed that too. I have a feeling this diver will be criticized ...
If the divers had no food, I think it's because while they work on widening the narrow tunnel, they sent the smallest divers through to look for the kids. My guess is they only had room for the oxygen tanks to get through at the time.

Has anyone found updates? I'm wondering if the doctor has reached them yet.

I found no updates on that. Only that the doctors are on the way to the boys.

"Energy Gel" doesn't sound great but it does sound like the right thing to start with. moo

Maybe the divers were not supposed to give them food before the doctors can assess their condition?

I would love to see a video of the kids getting food.

Hopefully when this is all over many interviews will be done with the boys and the divers and it will be cleared up. Just reading that they have already been given "energy gel" I think the part about not having food to give them must be a misunderstanding or bad translation. See quote below:
The boys have been provided with energy gel to eat, the Thai navy SEAL unit said on its official Facebook page.

"Power gel and sustenance equipment has been brought ... to the team ... and we've sent people to keep them company until the transport plan can begin," it said.

Thai people will not criticise anyone. They will just rejoice that they have been found. They have much more of a 'All's well that ends well' attitude than the west has.

I would think protein as well

Per google:

Most Energy Gels are based on maltodextrin which directly provide glucose to your blood stream and provide an easily absorbable form of carbohydrate. Energy gels are effectively concentrated energy drinks.

I'm thinking what could've been anger and blame toward's the assistant coach will now be praise. While he was suffering inside that cave he kept those boys together and helped keep them alive.

Here's more on the "food" that was being prepared to be sent in before they found them:
Experts have prepared special foods that officials say could help the boys and the coach recover after going hungry for many days.

“The food is similar to the food given to astronauts,” Mr. Narongsak said. “They can eat just a bit — but they will get nutrition, and it is high in protein.”

I think that must be the "energy gel" they are referring to now. JMO.

The only thing I heard about "tomorrow" in the video was in reference to getting out of the cave...at least that's the way I heard it.

Yes I thought I heard that too. I sounded like one of the boys asked to be taken out of the cave right away. I think the divers were trying to explain that it has taken them days of diving non stop just to find them. The boys probably have no idea how much of the cave system is flooded or how much effort has gone into rescuing them. Understandably, they just want to get out of there!

I think refeeding syndrome is possible but would be pretty rare at only 10 days. I'm in a lot of online fasting groups and I've never seen anyone get it. I've fasted 7 days on water myself. I felt like crap, very weak. Though most people don't seem to feel as bad as I did. However that situation they are in is SO stressful I think it would put the body under much greater stress than fasting for 10 days on clean water.

I was more thinking of Americans, British and generally "Western" people who love to scrutinize and criticize just about anything.

This tweet has a photo of the two divers:

The story has made the main 10 o'clock news here in the UK and I'm a blubbering wreck.

I hope nobody apportions blame to the coach or anyone else. Talk of legal action is ridiculous. Sterling effort by everyone involved and I hope they can start getting them out soon.
