NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have asked for the public's help as they look into where Toby Willis had traveled and who he was in contact with prior to his arrest.
TBI officials said Wills hitchhiked sometime between Monday, September 5 and Tuesday, September 6 from Shepherdsville, Kentucky, just south of Louisville, to Greenville, approximately 115 miles away.

Before the shocking charges Willis appeared to be a wholesome family man working behind the scenes as producer and sound technician for The Willis Clan, a band made up of eight daughters and four sons ranging in age from 5 to 24: Jessica, Jeremiah, Jennifer, Jeanette, Jackson, Jedidiah, Jasmine, Juliette, Jamie, Joy-Anna, Jaeger and Jada.

"He approves every outfit the girls wear," his wife Brenda said. "He pretty much buys everything."

I worry about those 8 daughters. And what's with the "J" names? Is that a thing in large conservative Christian families? The Duggars did that too.

I'm disappointed that the media released her age. He only has ONE daughter that fits the age and time frame. They pretty much just identified his victim. Was that really necessary to reveal? I pray she has access to good counseling and can find a way to heal.

Maybe his victim was a niece. His sister Amy has 9 kids and his brother Dan has 13. Child molesters/rapists deserve the death penalty IMO.

"Toby isn’t the only surviving sibling with a large family. Older sister Amy and her husband Alan have nine kids. And brother Dan and his wife Kim, have 13."

ETA: I cannot get the link to work.

Maybe this link will work.

It is being reported that it was his DAUGHTER.

ETA: The link I saw earlier that said it was his daughter, is no longer working.

Thanks Jax49! I thanked your post. Can you see it? I have not been able to see the names of posters who have thanked posts for months now. I was curious if my thanks button is working. TIA!

It's going to come out sooner or later, regardless of who the victim was - that's the nature of Reality TV; those who sign up open their lives to scrutiny. In this case the Willis family never made a huge impact like the Duggars so we may not see a lot of media coverage.

Was it heard that I read his oldest daughter lives away from the family? (She's grown). Was she on the show?

Looks like you heard right.

It’s unclear where the family is living right now. Earlier this summer, the eldest child in the family, Jessica, who is 24, abruptly left the band with many fans asking where she was. Her parents briefly referenced her departure in a Facebook Live video this summer but were otherwise vague.

The morning after Toby Willis’s arrest, Jessica’s boyfriend posted a photo of a lamp outside at sunset on Facebook with the words, “Speak truth boldly.”

If it was Jessica I'm glad she is speaking up. I am a bit concerned that his wife may support him however... Since the daughter has left the family. I hope for them other girls sake the the mom supports the kids. :(

Oh it looks like the mom is supporting the DA In prosecuting so that's a good sign.
After he was arrested at the venue his family performed anyway. Wow!

TBI Searches For People That Talked To Willis Prior To Arrest
[...]
TBI officials said Wills hitchhiked sometime between Monday, September 5 and Tuesday, September 6 from Shepherdsville, Kentucky, just south of Louisville, to Greenville, approximately 115 miles away.

Agents believed two people gave him a ride, but haven't been able to interview those drivers.

They have asked those drivers to come forward so that they can provide agents with more information into Willis' case.

Anyone with information on Wills or the days prior to his arrest were asked to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.

This is so sad and sick. I only saw a few episodes and did see them in person at silver dollar city once since we are close to the park. They truly seemed like the "wholesome" family they portrayed. I am so glad to see the mother sticking by her daughter and children. I can't imagine how hard that performance was for them to complete.

Toby Willis hearing rescheduled to end of month
Max R. Smith , [email protected] 9:59 a.m. CDT November 2, 2016

The preliminary and bond hearings for Toby Nathaniel Willis have been postponed until Nov. 30.

Willis has been held in Cheatham County Jail without bond for the past 50 days after he waived his right to have a preliminary hearing within 10 days of his arrest.
His court date was then postponed twice, first because of the absence of General Sessions Judge Phillip Maxey, and then a second time on Oct. 5 at the behest of his attorneys.

The TBI had been investigating Willis, 46, since late August on suspicion that he had raped a 9- to 10-year-old girl approximately 12 years ago.

Toby Willis's Attorney asks for continuance of trial
Max R. Smith , [email protected] 2:10 p.m. CST November 30, 2016

The Preliminary Hearing for Toby Nathaniel Willis has been reset for a fourth time.

Willis, father of The Willis Clan, is scheduled to appear in court next on March 1, 2017.

Willis's attorney Michael Shipman told Cheatham County General Sessions judge Philip Maxey that he had come to "question (Willis's) competence" during conversation he had with his client.

The state's attorney's objected to the request.

Willis will remain in Cheatham County Jail, where he has been held without bond since Sept. 13. Willis will likely undergo a psychiatric evaluation at Centerstone or the Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute in Nashville, a process that could take as long as three months.
