IIRC, at one point early in the investigation there was mention of DNA being found on a cigarette butt in Claudia's car. At the time, police said they didn't know who that belonged to.
There have been great advances in the intervening years with regard to DNA testing, particularly "forensic genealogy." It seems to be used a lot in the country I'm located in, with great success, but what is the situation in the UK? Is this something being utilized for cold cases? Is it used at all for that matter?
