So I take it no one has admitted it was them .Bearing in mind that it is not a crime walking down an alley way !
Well no, not strictly but it leads to nowhere and looks fairly significant given the circumstances, timings etc. Could be innocently walking half way down an alleyway that is obscured from plain view behind the house of a missing person presumed murdered, but I doubt it is a coincidence.

If someone has been identified and brought in for questioning the first question would be is this you ?
Now if the police cannot match the real person right in front of them with the image in the video clip, how on earth can they expect us to identify him?

Well they would say "think that's me? Prove it" which they probably can't from CCTV alone, but if a name is repeatedly put forward as an identification or a witness in the street gives a better description and says "I saw that guy, he looked like this..." then the case against him starts to tip in the favour of police.

They have identified a suspect but proving it is difficult, and if people ie. Family members say "he was home the whole time" then that becomes a frustration for police. They need to build a case, and this CCTV would support other evidence.

Personally I have no doubt that this person is connected to her disappearance.
I would want to ask the cyclist and the other witness, if they thought our man here is the same one they saw arguing with a woman that looks like CL and also/ or the left handed smoker!

And presumably anyone brought in for questioning would be checked to fingerprints and dna in her car ?

This implies he has not been identified
@Yozzer has already clarified this. The Police leave up the CCTV footage to get more people to come forward and perhaps someone who is related to this person. Just because they are still showing footage doesn't mean that they have not identified someone. I am getting frustrated with this thread-We know who did it, we just need to find the motive.

My comments were not aimed at you @x_caz_x You are doing the right thing by raising questions. It is those that keep insisting on questioning the same thing over and over again that is frustrating. It's almost like there is some "Diverting the Course of Justice" going on on this site. So I am off for a while but will be here in an observing capacity

Well I’m sad to hear you’re taking a back seat @MajorLang, I believe you bring some very interesting thoughts on the situation & a theory I also believe that same people are involved.

I think that's a shame @MajorLang, you have great knowledge on the case and can provide valuable insight. I do hope you choose to come back at some point :)

Take a few days off. Perhaps we should delegate research topics according to pref/skills for each other.

Thanks @moonsafari
For those new to this thread then perhaps they should read your blog as it is an excellent overview of the characteristics and the Nags Head.
It was this article that got me interested in the Claudia case and inspired me and since I have had many a sleepless night trying to work out what happened.

Your article can be found here and I hope you don't mind the publicity?:

Whenever particularly sozzled, Claudia Lawrence liked to play the same Elton John track, Your Song…

I then went on and produced a timeline and included in this many of the facts and reveals that we often get on here over time.

By reading both articles it can save much of the question asking and provides a good start rather than having to backtrack over the 3 threads that we now have on this case.

My article can be found here:

Claudia Lawrence-Who Took Her? Who was She?

Good Luck

Re Lime Court man:
The way he walks round the corner into Lime Court at 7pm is not exactly covert or stealth-like. He just walks like he's on a regular jaunt. It's only when he catches sight of a particular person on his return trip that he appears to falter. Even then, do we know this for sure (that he stopped to avoid someone)? What if he had a phone in his jacket pocket which vibrated, maybe his wife was calling him wondering when he was coming home for his tea? That would stop him in his tracks if he was up to no good. And he slowed down in order to switch off the call.

Don't forget, there is a more lengthy version of the 7pm cctv clip which shows other people walking along Heworth Road in front of him and on the opposite side of HR, so it was by no means a quiet time of night. Perhaps it is NYP's gait analysis that has identified it as HIM.

Yes precisely! So if Fred Bloggs spotted himself, why not own up to police? I suspect he did so once arrested and when he had owned up to his relationship with CL which he tried so hard to conceal from his wife (and NYP).

Who was the local property Landlord who died shortly after Claudia's disappearance? I have read him mentioned, as a landlord, but no other information.

I think what we can all agree is that the perpetrator(s) have brought a shroud of shame over their families, and they are being protected through fear, not love. People are on to them and the evidence will stack up sooner than they may think. Hate will never win.
