Lee Horwell, Claudias latest "named" lover. There may have been more.
What was he doing in April 2014 in Heworth Place in these pictures?
Note the lady / man in the silver VW. This car is not parked up and is a distance from the kerb, suggesting that they were there for a quick errand.
Was Horwell still the owner of the Maroon Volvo in the picture at the time these stills were captured?

He owned this Volvo with reg L330AM from 2012.
He sold it to David Robinson who switched the plate to YO1 in 2014.
Both registrations had a level of personalisation. L33 (Lee) YO1 being the name of Robinson's Double Glazing business.
Robinson was a POI in 2015.
Horwell was never arrested. His wife and childhood sweetheart left him when she discovered his affair with Claudia.
Note how he has what appear to be medications in one hand and car keys in the other.
The Maroon Volvo is regularly parked in this area yet neither of the two aforementioned were known to live here?
Note how in one shot Horwell is stood next to the driver side of the Silver VW.
We know from the other shot that someone else was driving at the time and so was there a "trade" taking place?
Also note another silver car-A Renault parked at the end of the Cul-de-Sac, Heworth Place. Is there someone waiting in this car?
Was the Silver Renault the one that belonged to SR the brother of PR?
It is believed that both SR and PR lived in Heworth Place around this time.
Today PR owns 15 Heworth Place. Where the car was close to.
PR lives in Heworth Road today.
There appears to be something unusual in many of these characters still living and socialising in this area, an area with lots of very sad memories and past dark forces.
We get much in the way of theories on this thread and a fair share of disruption.
To date little concrete to discuss due to the time passing since Claudia's disappearance.
I do believe though that WS is still the best thread online for carrying information on the case.
We should perhaps spend some time discussing this?
Was Claudia involved in medications or was there an overdose of such occurring that took her life?
This may we'll be quite innocent activity in the attached shots but IMO any police officers watching this forum should consider and investigate this.
That is if they have not done so already.
These images were taken in 2014 but the Sleuth who brought these to my attention and myself had never come across these before despite many Google image searches over the years??
There is so much about this case that troubles me.

Is this why Robinson and the Ruanes were arrested in 2015?
Horwell owned a scrap metal dealers along with his brother David in close by Mansfield Street. His brother David died suddenly in 2018. David Horwell was associated with the Pavlou Brothers and was named on The Pavlous company register as "Secretary.
The Pavlou own the club in York, The VUDU Lounge.
The Horwels and Pavlous wanted to build a casino on the land in Mansfield street but this was blocked by council. After the death of David Horwel, Lee remained the sole beneficiary of the company and the land in Mansfield Street was sold to a company to build Student Acxiom. In 2018 Horwell will have raised £800,000 for the sale of the land.

In fact reading the above may I just point out that most of the people you talk about are much older than Claudia and probably go way back to a time BEFORE Claudia .
Remember she had only been going to NH for approximately three years !
And there is no reason why they should stop seeing one another and or move away from the area .

Sorry I disagree about other cases where there could have been a potentially similar MO and were occurring at this very time (in fact North Yorkshire police let him go to reoffend before catching him again). The black guy mark I forget his surname, was kidnapping and raping women in York at this time. And has a white van (he was a decorator and lived in tang hall I believe with his wife who worked at the uni). He also resembles co op man. It’s not a leap to progress from stranger rape / kidnap to then murder a target. From my previous forensic risk assessment work I know this. So if a random attack it could well have been him. I think it’s more likely closer to home however still...

He lived on the banks of the river Ouse (46 Hospital Fields Rd) its a 5 minute drive from York University, 8 minutes from Tanghall
Is it near the spot at the waters edge on the River Ouse where CL's scent was traced to.
As well as a painter and decorator he was a martial arts instructor. One of his victims described how he put her in a headlock dragging her back to his van so overpowering CL who was a petite 5ft 6in female would be easy for him.
Details of the attack were reported by Dominic Midgely in the Express newspaper Sat, May 10, 2014
On the evening of October 29 last year a 21-year-old female undergraduate was walking home from her job at a city-centre club in York.
Her misfortune was to fall into the path of Mark Thompson, who grabbed her, put her in a headlock and dragged her into his waiting van.
Once inside he told his victim: "You have two options: you can give me what I want and tell nobody what has happened or tonight is the night you die."
Over the next five hours he subjected her to an ordeal of unimaginable horror, raping her three times as he drove her around the city.
At one point he attempted to explain his actions by saying he was raping her because "he didn't get sex from his wife".
It was only when he stopped at a red light that his victim was able to escape the van and run through the streets until she fell into the arms of a retired policeman
Remember CL's phone was switched off at 12.10pm could we be looking at a similar time frame of abduction?

I think the fact that Claudia chose to walk to (in particular that early morning walk) and from work in the weeks her car was in the garage for repair and put her on the radar of a predator type 'snatch abduction'.
As LuLuR38 rightly points out she thinks MT resembles the man in the Tang Hall Co op photos, dont be mislead by his mugshot photo Ive added it to show the style of facial hair is the same as Tang Hall man, his wedding photo (minus the facial hair) is a much closer match to the Tang Hall person in my opinion, and if you look closer that scar high on his right cheek may well clarify identification.
Personally I suspect that Tang Hall man is MT.. just my opinion
His wife adamantly stands by his side some news articles described her as delusional.. if Dai Malyn thinks it will be a relationship breakdown that will break this case open then I would be looking at this relationship but given Adrianna's devotion to MT I cant see it happening anytime soon.

1. If this happened do you believe that Claudia would have been abducted then BEFORE she reached Melrosegate Post office with CCTV cameras?
2. Was this person you mention the one seen walking towards the post office from the Uni direction?
3. What time if morning was this.
4. Did this concur with a time that if he continued walking in that direction and towards Heworth he would have met Claudia or would she have already passed this point?

If it took her 35 minutes to walk to work from her house and she arrived just in time for work then she would leave her house at 05:25 latest. She could of course leave earlier.

I would be interested to know where you believe she was abducted from and the likely area range?

I have seriously considered Thompson, who is a monster. It is not beyond the realms of possibility that he is the Coop man. It would help to know when the video showing activity outside Melrosegate PO on the morning of 19th March occurred. We know the sighting at the substation was at 05.35 and this location is 5 mins on foot from the post office so given that he is walking towards the substation, the PO cctv would need to be at around 05.30. My difficulty is that the character on the video below (2m 30s) who resembles Thompson (and appears to be holding a cigarette in his left hand) is not dressed as described by the witness who saw a man wearing a dark hoody (with hood up). Nor would I describe him as a skinny build. Finally, if the same man was seen on University Road at 06.10, I find it hard to believe his ethnicity would not have been noted by the witness.

I think police learned early on not to trust the times on the cctv clocks which is unfortunate as cctv evidence may turn out to be crucial in this case.

Its always wise to be cautious of cctv footage without a date and time stamp if that cctv footage is of the 19th of March we dont have a time and to be honest that footage is such poor light quality that I cant make out for sure if he is a black or white guy.(and I have replayed it many times) I will attach a photo of guy that I came across when cruising the melrosegate route to University road he could easily be mistaken for the guy on the video if it was dark.

I think you might be right and if that is MT on the Tang Hall Co op CCTV photo and he did tell the staff that he knew Claudia he may well have provided us and police with a vital piece of the jigsaw connecting him with CL

What makes this case difficult is that there are many different sightings of people in different areas at this time of day.
If we consider that many people would be going about normal business of going to work or possibly returning from a night shift.
There will of course be some that are up to no good-Drug related or even abduction / Rape / even murder.
The police have seen most of this activity and it has been reported on but they appear to be adamant that they know who did it and under certain circumstances.
Why do we feel that we know better?
I appreciate that if we see anything new and this has not been reported on that we should call it in.
But if we keep going over sightings that they appear to have discounted, are we in danger of never finding what the police really need-The missing piece of evidence?

This theory was discounted at the time because he was in prison when Claudia went missing.

In my opinion this section of the video only confuses us while we can observe the subjects on it the bottom line is with no time stamp this could be footage anywhere from 12.01am to daylight on the 19th. For these reasons personally there isnt much I can take forward from this clip

I personally feel that this theory should be discounted. Police showed this video as part of a wider appeal for a large silver car. They quite openly stated that the footage was actually from an earlier date but it was the car rather than the character they were interested in.
If you look at a More plausible piece of evidence from the Heworth Road evening video which is 11 seconds in and shows a vehicles lights shining on the windows of a house in Heworth Road which is directly opposite to alley-man just as he disappears and cctv is cut.
You will a reflection of something in the window of this house.
It is the car headlights that allows us to see something that could not normally be seen without car lights.
I won't say what can be seen as I don't want to put ideas into people's heads and so decide for yourself and then post on the thread.
The cctv footage is clearer than the still attached.
