You know the Tang Hall coop man said he knew her or worked with her.
What brought up the conversation on Claudia?

Re the Coop staff. The man was in the shop on 1st April when talk of CL was all over York and most local shops displayed posters so it is likely he commented on a poster or joined in a conversation.

Coop man looks very similar to this man in the Melrosegate PO video at 2m 31s (who is coincidentally a left handed smoker). Style of clothing is v. similar , build plus white trainers to the man in the Coop pic IMO. Perhaps the police also want to speak to him because he was out and about at the right time and place on Thursday morning and passed the slightly built person with waist length jacket walking towards university -video below - (who could have been mistaken for CL - IMO). Therefore I think NYP view Coop man as a potential witness who could help to confirm or eliminate the Melrosegate substation sighting as being of any relevance. Unfortunately he hasn't responded.

Absolutely
Lol
Is the whole of Heworth in the gang !?
Are there any innocent people living there ?
I’m sorry but .. lol

I never read anything about the police wanting to interview the man in the last known movement of Cl

The man in the Thurs morning video? If police have matched him to the Coop man, he would potentially be a vital witness in corroborating the so called Melrosegate 'sightings' - they wouldn't confirm publicly whether it's the Coop man as it is not possible to confirm due to the quality of the cctv, just as they have been vague about matching the men in the 2 Heworth Place/Lime Court cctv clips. They would want to know if he walks that route regularly at that time, did he know CL, did he see anything suspicious that morning, who did he see on that route.
They definitely want to speak to Coop man as is stated on NYP website. I think we know police don't share all their lines of enquiry with the public.

Yep spot on as usual.if that man was seen on cctv before or after ,the police would have watched from an unmarked car for him.
One thing for sure that people always recognise themselves no matter how bad the picture. And if you have nothing to hide you’ll come out and say so !

Claudia Lawrence | Its Murder Up North
This is new and interesting reveals ?!
She took the car on 4th March to garage ??
Not been able to listen to th complete pod cast yet keeps crashing !

Also:
Phone charger plugged in by her bedside - I thought it was in the kitchen. However, this doesn't mean it was used on the night of the 18th.
The car parked outside her house at 9pm matched one used by Steve Sammons (who had a strong alibi - in Cyprus).
The person she was seeing in the Acomb area was AN - we knew this but I didn't think he was THE reason she was in Acomb?

That’s right @yozzer.The police knew and told us she met up with AN but made up as a big discovery that her phone pinged in the Acomb area weeks days before the 18 th.
Which implies ( to me at least ) that the police do not necessarily know the whereabouts of her phone for each and every day going back three months say !

At the begining of the podcast the narrator's introduction to the case says ' there is so much out there regarding the case not all of it is factual and I found it so difficult to find a narrative'
It throws a shadow over just how much of the content of the podcast includes factual details and how much of non factual material has been used to make narration more interesting to the listener.

You highlighted three points I picked up on Yozzer.. how correct these are is anyones guess as the podcast doesnt disclose the source of this information.

Have you seen these points reported anywhere else I havent ?

I read today that she received her last text from a Cypriot (the Express) which was the same term used in the podcast to describe SS. He is, of course, British. But I have never read that the vehicle was thought to be his. Would be interested to know whether he retained the vehicle on leaving for C or did he sell it - if so, to whom.

Cl let someone in one afternoon at 2:30 possibly a Saturday or a Sunday and since she looked like she was surprised and also not wanting anyone to see him ,did she make him use the Blackdoor when he left ?

Was this a new article from the express ?!

According to the pod cast murder up north her car was taken to the garage on th e 4 th of March but it broke down in February due to snow ?
So looks like CL did not have the use of her car on her birthday !

The Podcast also said that CL spoke with her parents everyday, obviously she didnt because the last time she spoke to her parents was the evening of the 18th. If she had a routine of speaking to her parents everyday her parents would have been concerned and have been called to action on the evening of the 19th.
It took a call from SC on the 20th to alert Peter.

I think we might be taking everything thing written about cl too literally .

Theories so far suggested on WS include:

  • She was killed at or near her home in Heworth after 9pm on 18/3/09 or in early hours of 19/3 by jealous boyfriend/ex boyfriend or stalker.
  • She was killed during an attack by the driver of the red car approx 6am 19/3/09 near York Uni after having a heated altercation at Melrosegate, then on University Rd.
  • She was the victim of a motor vehicle accident on Heworth Road, probably hit by the braking Ford Focus seen early morning of 19/3/09 and her body was removed and buried elsewhere.
  • She was involved in local underworld crime either directly (e.g. dealing drugs), indirectly (via a boyfriend or acquaintance) or as a police informant, and got in to trouble leading to a targeted 'assassination' followed by a clean up operation. Could be anytime between 9pm 18/3 and 6am 20/3 but realistically would have been timed to avoid queries from work or friends so likely to be resolved by morning of 19/3.
Does anyone have any different theories?

I was very interested in the date she gave in podcast of 4th March when her car broke down in heavy snow-I haven't seen this reported anywhere and so like the other new lines of evidence, I am left doubting it's accuracy. The mention of Anth Newby, he was a friend, a kitchen porter, not a chef, she used to meet with him regularly. Never before has he been named as a boyfriend-Not her type.

It was not the Saturday or Sunday. It was a weekday and the 17th.

I didn't know her father offered his car for Thurs 19th due to PL going to London that day. That seems a bit of a coincidence - PL being out of the way along with the man who worked in the NH (drayman?) being on holiday too.

Missing chef Claudia Lawrence declined mum's taxi offer

She had got into the habit of walking to and from her job at Goodricke College in recent weeks after her Vauxhall Corsa developed engine trouble.
Miss Lawrence had also turned down an offer from her father for the loan of his car for the day she went missing and had arranged to meet him for a drink the following evening.
Mr Lawrence, of Slingsby, near Malton, said: “I was going to London by train but she declined my offer, saying it was nice weather and she would walk to the university.”
