I haven't seen anything about a personal diary other than the link from a couple of WS pages back in the article where her mother commented about DO's revelation, saying they would check Claudia's diary. Had DS Galloway told her to say this in an attempt to flush out the mystery man?

I would think work will have provided details of her shift rota.
If there was a diary the police would have kept I would have thought

I read she used nicknames for people ;)
claudia’s nickname for Yozzer would be ‘full timer “

From that 2009 Mail on Sunday article (and also referenced in ‘Gone’) -

Another adds: 'We'd all heard what she was up to. A few months ago, I was told that she had lured a man away from his wife and once she had got him she lost interest in him.'

IF this is true I really hope the police tracked that man down. The guy was obviously besotted with her to leave his wife and for her to then lose interest and start dating other men must have really hurt.

First I've heard of this!!!!

Think you're getting a bit carried away with the conspiracy of fitting people up for crimes, now understandble for Barry George/Jill Dando given how that played out.
@Inspector Evans Your possibly right. In the Claudia case though we have to look at how the 4 arrested could have been capable of covering their tracks so Proffesionals. I have reviews and written much about cctv evidence, how it is presented and the complete lack of transparency from NYP.
There was far more cctv coverage and will be far more footage than is being shared with us.
I am very attracted to comments made by her father about Claudias last walk home from work.
As she leaves UNI:
"That's Claudia"
But As she walks up to Melrosegate Post Office he is far less certain about the person being her.

The Jo cox conspiracy here is quite plausible:

The Assassination of Jo Cox

As you know Ive been interested in the CCTV footage in this case too. With only basic tools at my disposal I am have been able to reveal some of the images that have been blurred and in some cases erased/lifted from the footage.
Its clear to me from what I have found that some of the footage has been edited together and in some instances in my opinion footage of the same person from a different day/date has been used.
It didnt take me long to figure it out so when I come across it I think OK theres something happening there that we are not being shown I look for what that might be in the next couple of frames and usually you can piece it all together if not its because they have edited into the footage we are being shown from a different timeline/day/date.
When you think of walking along a public pavement people are going to be passing you crossing in front and behind you depending where the cctv is sited vehicles could also pass by temporarily blocking out the subject. So when police are seeking to identfy someone by cctv they will try and give an uninterrupted view of that person.
Take Claudia walking home past melrose gate and posting the letter we are shown that when she leaves the college she's wearing the rucksack as shes approaching the post box at melsrose gate and posts the letter we can see shes still wearing the rucksack but follow the footage after that and fleetingly you get a glimpse that shes not wearing the rucksack shes actually wearing a Tote style bag on her shoulder and that bag has a large circular design to the front with written logo on it ( photo attached) .
In this I instance dont read any thing suspicious in this now because of what I mentioned earlier. But it may be why her father says 'someone looking like Claudia as he also noticed she was wearing a different bag.

Seperately I will say that in the alleyman cctv when the person pauses (and appears to put his hand in his pocket) we are lead to believe hes avoiding a man crossing the road, he (the alleyman/person) what I see is that he's actually stopped because hes talking someone. Which I find odd when the police are asking if anyone can identify him.

LH would fit the bill.

I’ve done that ( stopped in my tracks when I’ve seen through the corner of my eye people approaching my parked car ) and pretended to be talking to someone on the phone as an explanation as to why I stopped . It seems the guy ( dark man) is used to be patrolling the streets or buildings !

I reckon that she took this tote bag out of her rucksac when she rummaged for the letter. Then she decided to wear it along with the rucksac. It would be interesting to identify the logo tho.

I should add that the photo I uploaded was not one I captured it was downloaded from Google.
The frames I managed to capture of her with the Tote/shoulder bag werent as good but did show this bag with this design and logo..
Whoever captured the frame clearly has better software than I have.

Where did she stop to rummage for the letter? Did someone give her the tote bag with the letter inside it? That would explain why she didn't stop to find the letter next to the letterbox.

What, if she hopped into a shop and bought a new t-shirt/top (as she liked to do) and this is a shopping tote bag with logo perhaps? Would make sense, if she had a brandnew boyfriend ....

John Bowe podcast !
can anyone enlighten me : where would John Bowe be ‘seeing’ the lurker around Claudias’s house fiddling with his breast pocket ?
Is he talking about our Allyman!?
He mentions this at least twice in his podcast! Also where does Malta come in this story ?

hello...please excuse the typing....im disabled.
thanks for a very informative discussion
I've followed this in the press and thought about it and have now read your threads and digested as much as I can

please excuse me if I ask questions you've long answered.

why do the police now think that whatever happened kicked off very shortly after shed spoken to her mother.

I suspect it's because they don't think the message sent from cl to jk just before was genuine.

if it wasn't, then it was sent to either prove that Claudia was ok at that time and or jk wasn't with her.

I know she phoned her mother just after that message, but I think it was a case of....somebody with Claudia wanting to do that...oh, do you mind if I just send a message to someone...and immediately afterwards cl says that she's got to. phone her mother.

or, why else do you think that the police believe it happened so soon afterwards

The Police either got this wrong deliberately or genuinely.
Some say the two different footage shots are of the same person and so not Cartwright and others believe that there are two different people involved and one is either Cartwright or not him.

if we consider that Claudia was NOT at home that evening and the following morning, but elsewhere, either person could have been behaving strangely but not necessarily a murderer.
They could have been picking and dropping Drugs for trade at Nags Head which was suspected of being under surveillance at the time.

Has there ever been discussion of a possible spy camera involved by the mystery back alley man?

Thanks for reminding of this, it was buried in the back of my memory. Yes, agree, I hope they did track him down - he must have felt humiliated.

@cortina welcome.
As a new member I want to hear more from you. We have discussed this before but you are very astute here.
My theory is JK sent it to herself.I have to say but don't want to IMO Its unlikely that Claudia sent it for any other reason than to avoid JK and so in both scenarios JK is a big suspect but someone is protecting her.
She has never been arrested but IMO is a female Huntley.

her friends seem to play it both ways....ok not all her friends have to have the same opinion.....but one minute it seems to be that she's trying to sleep with anything that moves and in the next, someones saying that she wasn't like that at all....there may have been any number of boyfriends, but I don't believe in. the one that was remembered a year later...its one of the first things you'd mention if you knew someone who'd gone missing in suspicious circumstances.

I don't understand why the police got involved so quickly....arent people always complaining that they are rather slow in cases with adults of sound mind.

ill admit I don't know anything about cctv, but for the past few days I've thought there was something odd about the light man....I couldn't put my finger on it, but I think I have now.

we live on a road that runs parallel to the main road, leading to the station. and shops and pedestrians prefer to use our road...so a fair few number of people passing by.

ive watched from an upstairs window...so no one would look at me...and when someone is passing alone, they don't keep looking straight ahead...they always turn their head to at least one side...if only slightly...and that's. just passing this house.

the only exceptions I've noticed are when people are hurrying or in bad weather, when they. bend their heads.

probably just. people who live round here...but that man seems determined to keep his eyes fixed straight ahead.

yes, I know,....paranoid

hello, major lang

I think were coming from a similar place....I don't know if jk sent it, but I don't think cl did

the thing I find really revealing about jk is her description of her dream about cl....it seems to push us to thinking it was something to do with her complicated love life and then denies its doing that.

my job is to do with analysing language and how its used and id say she's playing on a casual readers opinion that it was her l0ve life...and some would say she deserved what she got....its an attempt to deflect us.

sorry....hand hurts
