But As she walks up to Melrosegate Post Office he is far less certain about the person being her.
As you know Ive been interested in the CCTV footage in this case too. With only basic tools at my disposal I am have been able to reveal some of the images that have been blurred and in some cases erased/lifted from the footage.
Its clear to me from what I have found that some of the footage has been edited together and in some instances in my opinion footage of the same person from a different day/date has been used.
It didnt take me long to figure it out so when I come across it I think OK theres something happening there that we are not being shown I look for what that might be in the next couple of frames and usually you can piece it all together if not its because they have edited into the footage we are being shown from a different timeline/day/date.
When you think of walking along a public pavement people are going to be passing you crossing in front and behind you depending where the cctv is sited vehicles could also pass by temporarily blocking out the subject. So when police are seeking to identfy someone by cctv they will try and give an uninterrupted view of that person.
Take Claudia walking home past melrose gate and posting the letter we are shown that when she leaves the college she's wearing the rucksack as shes approaching the post box at melsrose gate and posts the letter we can see shes still wearing the rucksack but follow the footage after that and fleetingly you get a glimpse that shes not wearing the rucksack shes actually wearing a Tote style bag on her shoulder and that bag has a large circular design to the front with written logo on it ( photo attached) .
In this I instance dont read any thing suspicious in this now because of what I mentioned earlier. But it may be why her father says 'someone looking like Claudia as he also noticed she was wearing a different bag.
Seperately I will say that in the alleyman cctv when the person pauses (and appears to put his hand in his pocket) we are lead to believe hes avoiding a man crossing the road, he (the alleyman/person) what I see is that he's actually stopped because hes talking someone. Which I find odd when the police are asking if anyone can identify him.
