Hello everyone. Im new to this thread but its lovely to see some familiar faces here. IB told me about this fascinating case and, like all of you, Im shocked beyond belief that any person could be murdered and disposed of in such a horrendous way. And then theres poor little innocent Boris who was so callously and cruelly disposed of along with Helen.
Its taken me the past three days to read everything from the very beginning, and that meant staying up until 2-3am each night. Congratulations to everyone who has contributed thus far. Youve all done an amazing job. Its no surprise that LE officers frequently come to WS to follow the thoughts of people who think outside the square and come up with some truly brilliant suggestions.

Possible route to the garage. The gate is clearly visible in pic 2. Note that there don't appear to be any doors leading from the house directly out onto the driveway. The dense foliage on the left of pic 3 provides a lot of privacy.

G'day mate. It's great to see you here. It's been quite a while. I'm not quite sure what's happening on the OP front. Did you know he's been moved to a much smaller prison? I'd love to know when this was taken.

Yes, knew about the smaller, more comfortable prison; still following the case here and on another website. Your expertise at the time of the OP trial was remarkable and hope to hear more from you when the appeal is heard.. next month?

L2L do we have any idea when the appeal is? I haven't been able to find anything in the press though confess to not have been looking lately. It will be good to put the case to bed after 4 years.
Yet again I look at photos of that beautiful house and am staggered IS was not willing to share it with Helen. Did he plan to spend the rest of his years living alone in luxury, as a wealthy bachelor? I have always wondered if he had another woman waiting in the wings - it would add further motive to what is apparently a straightforward financial motive. But as the prosecution has mentioned no 'other woman' it seems he really did simply want rid of Helen to take her house and money from her.
IS thinks he's making the bullets and having Oliver fire them, but in reality hes arming the Prosecution with cannon balls. If he does take the stand, hell be crucified.

Personally I think his illness and time in intensive care may have made him realise that if he died first not only would he never had had full control of all Helen's cash but his sons would lose their home and only inherit his share of the main house. If Helen died first not only would he have the main house plus extras, he could also pass all that onto his sons.
This is all grist for the mill for the Prosecution. If IS elects not to testify, the jurors will be instructed that this is hearsay and must be totally rejected. IS thinks he's “making the bullets” and having Oliver fire them, but in reality he’s arming the Prosecution with cannon balls. If he does take the stand, he’ll be crucified.
"Following his arrest in December, IS told his youngest son, Oliver, that two men, Nick and Joe, had repeatedly visited the home demanding paperwork and had assaulted him on one occasion."

Isn’t it fascinating that the elder brother, Jamie, told the court that his father had never told him about the two men.
I was just thinking.... maybe the real plan was to feed her the drugs until she had a car crash. She wasn't a confident driver and driving on sleeping tablets could easily cause an accident. Maybe it's true when she said she wasn't going to drive again. Albeit she didn't say this on the Monday and he decided he'd have to get rid of her some other way. I still have an inkling something went wrong that Monday that forced him into this botched plan though...

I think maybe originally he was playing the long game and drugging her to either get POA due to her mental state, or like you suggested hoping she'd drive under the influence and crash. Then his unexpected time in intensive care might have made him think that he might not have time to play the long game and that he had to act quickly. At the time he would have made the decision he wouldn't have thought he was dying... he'd had the all clear and had survived the unexpected intensive care stay, but maybe it made him reassess things.About this. It's possible but having lived with someone who was dying you find that usually all their personal motives go to survival and they don't care about anything else. If this man thought he could actually die and he was thinking and plotting all this it would surprise me. The whole thing seems very complex. He must have been planning this before he became seriously ill then once he got the all clear he just thought 'now's the time! OLLI' and went for it. Just a thought...
