True that I've been on thin ice with Wilipedia for several years now but this isn't of my doing.

I had a feeling they might announce the verdicts this morning. But I hung out with my little grand daughter all day and was EXHAUSTED so I took a nap at midnight and set my alarm for 3 am----hoping to hear an update.

I slept through the whole thing and logged into WS about 9 am , California time, shocked to see the ' 7 Guilty of Murder' headline on the thread. My husband almost dropped his coffee when he heard me scream " Oh My God!!!"

I am greatly relieved. I always felt the Murder charges were the most important ones.


I have to check on the AT's----one of the babies was left paralysed and greatly compromised but I don't remember which one. Was that one verdict resolved or not?

The jury returned a verdict of guilty on two charges (10-1 majority) and one verdict of not guilty relating to baby G, which I assume is the child you are asking about. She was the little girl left with quadraplegic cerebral palsy, amongst other complex health issues/disabilities after her time at Countess of Chester.

Very interesting hearing from her childhood friend, who says all her friends have stood by her and she won’t believe she’s guilty unless Letby confesses.

This terrifies me. I was honestly expecting to hear that she had some very strange behaviours. The fact that friends still describe her as the most kind and gentle person they’ve ever known. It just hammers home that we can never truly know anyone, no matter how much we think we know them.

You're right, her friend said LL was grateful for the care she received after her birth (can't remember exactly what the circumstances were).

I think one thing this case has brought home is just how vulnerable ALL babies are. And the difference it makes when they get the care they should in hospital, and when they don't.

I don't think anybody being a 'vulnerable baby' predisposes them to murder.

So much in life is down to our choices. Whether we choose to hurt others, or not. Some people wake up and choose violence, not just once, but over and over. And people looking for answers ignoring their agency in that isn't doing anybody any favours.

The vast majority of people with adverse childhood experiences don't kill anybody.

Just watched aghast during BBC News at One where it reveals, at one point, the consultants had to sign a "letter of apology" to Letby. This was before police were called, but the consultants were raising concerns.

Yes absolutely, usually there are victim family impact statements. They'll need a lot of time for them no doubt.

I feel the same about the jurors. They're superstars along with Nick KC and should all be given spa breaks to recover

They weren't "older" parents. You might say her dad was butninthink her mother was about 30 when she was born.

There was a newspaper article circulating here (I think) a while back, a “happy birthday” notice for LL (I think it may have been her 21st?) to LL which looked like it was from her brothers (or half brothers?) I thought she had older siblings/her dads side from previous relationship. Can anyone recall that article?

[Unless, she is indeed an only child and that newspaper notice was actually from pets? Like the same birthday card pinned to her notice board in her kitchen from her cats, (wrote by her mother) with the words “mummy” on it.]
