I doubt Sara did any of the things mentioned in the messages. Why would she if the punishments were so severe?

I'm still reminded of the Arthur L-H case. Poor Arthur was accused of all sorts of bad behaviour by his Step Mother, who lied constantly so he would be punished.
And it should've been obvious to Urfan that Sara, barely able to walk or breathe, couldn't be "naughty" even in the unlikely event that she was undeterred by life-threatening consequences. Household footage of Arthur L-H showed him too weak to walk or lift his duvet from the floor. Yet the beatings continued.

Or Sara was being set up. To be punished for doing it (when she didn't) or for saying she didn't do it (which would have actually been true) in order for the father to beat her. Master plan orchestrated by a stepmother who resented her. And I can just imagine what the father would do if poor Sara dared say anything positive about her mother or negative about his wife. IMO it was the stepmother setting up Sara to take the father's beatings (believing his wife over Sara) and getting away with daily murder because she knew Sara couldn't tell on her, she'd made sure Sara would never be believed. Really sophisticated, unfathomably wicked conspiracy of abuse of which no child, no one ultimately could survive.

Beyond cruel, beyond human -- beneath --

Special place in hell.

I'm not really sure B was that Machiavellian.
She seems to have good relationship with her sisters, kept in touch with them after being "disowned" by father.
(for eloping to marry U.)

U. looks to me like a man with serious anger/uncontrollable fury issues.
As Olga was a victim of.

Sara seemed to be a boisterous, lively child.
A girl with temperament.
Teachers called her "sassy".

She certainly wasn't a timid and meek girl IMO.
And I think
it triggered both abusers.
U's brutal and primitive force and B's screaming, "effing", and also physical abuse.

The problem was
that both U&B felt "untouchable" IMO.

Nobody intervened in a firm way.
Nobody gave them hard ultimatum.

And violence escalated.
Until there was no return.

I agree, something is off. If what she says is true, does Sara hiding the car keys mean that she didn’t want her father to leave the house?
I said this about the keys post 575

Exactly, which would suggest that "being naughty" was nothing more than a fabricated cover story. And we already know who was creating such a cover story over many whatsapp messages sent to her sister.

In the phonecall to police, Urfan gives the timeframe for Sara's decline (over 3 or 4 days), so it's possible she was critically injured at that time and likely to have been immobile (3 or 4 days before she died). Yet, he maintains, that she was being naughty over this period (obviously a lie). Is it possible that Urfan was dumb enough to use Beinash's cover story (at her suggestion) and, in doing so, walked right into her trap?

Someone mentioned the hiding of keys being Sara's way of preventing her father from leaving. I find that persuasive. Hiding keys is not in the same category as ripping up documents or cutting up clothes.

Video shows arrests of Sara Sharif murder accused.

Trio being handcuffed.

"
All three accused were interviewed separately by police the day after they were held.
They all made no comment to questions asked by officers."

Not Machiavellian in a particularly intelligent way, IMO. But certainly cold, cunning and ruthless when triggered (and neighbours say her fuse is short). I'm thinking of the neighbour's comment in court that Batool's resigned facial expression actually scared her when Urfan was undermining her in public. The same neighbour too timid to report the screaming plucked up the courage to tell Urfan not to talk about his wife that way. It must have been pretty derogatory! Made me wonder if that was yet one more strike against Sara in B's mind. She couldn't get away with physical revenge on Urfan. But she could tell him something triggering about his daughter knowing he'd "beat her black". JMO

Yes. If B was really toying with the idea of reporting Urfan or separating from him, as she texted, she would've been mouthing "HELP" to Sarah's teacher when she had the chance. Not being sarcastic about "jumping to conclusions again" and blaming Sarah for poking herself with a pen. It was her golden chance to be safe from Urfan. Sadly her move was to "homeschool" Sara soon after.

Also, weren't diapers found in the recent trash containing Sarah's stool? She would have been bound and incapacitated to need those with in the time frame of being "naughty". JMO

Sara Sharif's family seen going through passport control at Heathrow Airport
Anyone else gutted by how thin the children all look compared to very well-covered Batool and Urfan? I don't imagine a taxi driver's wage stretches too far with a household of that many mouths. But I would definitely be feeding my kids ahead of myself, husband and leech brother-in-law if money was scarce. Also I'd be ordering food and forking out for wound treatments instead of hijabs and parcel tape JMO

In the videos or photos - at Co-op, in the car, at the airport - Sharif does not look upset. Yet when he made the phone call to 999 when he landed in Pakistan he was sooo "distraught" with grief that he couldn't speak clearly?!?!?! I am NOT buying that act! (IMO)

The photos of the house is (IMO) very very tidy - with 6 children, there are no toys, kids drawings, shoes... if anyone walked in, they wouldn't be able to say that there were kids living there....might have been a very strict home perhaps? JMO

I have nothing against a clean house, its just that I have friends that have 3+ kids and my friends' houses reflects that.

No toys, drawings, shoes, everything is white or beige, breakable vase on a very sharp cornered coffee table for a family with toddlers...

If I didn't know this family had six kids and you showed me those pictures, I'd assume that none lived there.

I’d really like to know why Social Services ignored the school’s request to look into this. What made them decide not to follow up?

Also, I’ve heard the school got hit with graffiti and threats against the headteacher because some people thought they hadn’t done enough. (I know this is hearsay only) But now it turns out the school actually did everything it was supposed to!

I know there are some incredibly hardworking people in Social Services, yet somehow, kids are still slipping through the cracks. We urgently need a full investigation and real changes to protect children better!

Sara’s death is unbelievably heartbreaking—she should be alive, safe, and enjoying her childhood in a world that truly protects her. If Social Services had acted, this could have been prevented.

There will always be monstrous people like those accused of hurting her, but a strong system should be able to stop people like them from causing harm.

Since Sara's death, not a day has gone by when I dont think of her (and yet I have never met her). My my heart clenches when I think of her facing such abuse - and yet smiling a pained smile with her head covering her injuries - in the photos. The nights she must have tried to sleep but pain kept her awake....! Was she also expected to clean, look after her younger siblings, even carry them despite her horrendous injuries? Sara must have had such a resilient spirit to endure all of that for so long!

There is no justice for Sara and there can never be justice for Sara... Her abusers will be sentenced (and I hope the highest sentence that can be issued by law in UK) , but it can never undo the suffering she went through."

I follow a lot of children’s cases here and typically I’ve been able to see them to trial.

After hearing of Sara’s injuries and then realizing the horrendous abuse this child endured, I had to step away.

My heart didn’t break; it SHATTERED.

I’m not sure there is justice for Sara.

These monsters, hiding behind a human’s body, deserve to spend the rest of their lives in a dark hole of a prison. They need to be fearful every day of their lives, watching over their shoulders and waiting for an attack to happen. They need to endure pain so severe they can’t sleep. They need to wake up every morning dreading what is to come.

Evil comes in many forms. Urfan and his wife personify evil. Don’t know about the uncle but the other two…..

The one common theme I see running through all the children killed in the most horrific of circumstances by parents and step parents is "child was known to social services " How much time do these government institutions need to ' fill in the cracks " they so often proclaim these children fall through. This has been the go to phrase since at least the late 80s . It irritates me .
The new phrase seems to be 'lessons will be learnt ' These play on words is not going to save the next child nor did they save Sara .
The biggest red flag should have been when Sara was removed from school . The Bruising was enough to alert the teacher into making a report so why was it not deemed serious enough to take further action .

Imo each time a child slips through the cracks where there has been reports sent and contact made with SS those employees whom deemed it insufficient enough . Should be held accountable by means of negligence. If a safeguarding issue is raised by a teacher or someone in an authoritative position it is most likely a last resort or they have witnessed a pattern of unexplained injuries. Why are SS not comprehending that . Or is SS run like a business and there is an attitude of losses and gains when doing their yearly "book keeping " children are not commodities. It is just so annoying

IMO

They (the defendants)
represent what is called "the banality of evil".

Outwardly
ordinary, bland, seemingly normal family leading normal, banal life.

But, in fact,
shallow, primitive,
and clueless about parental methods other than brute violence and beating.
Squashing free spirit of a child, breaking child's backbone
(both metaphorically and literally in this case).

Seemingly feeling no remorse.
The "deed just happened",
it was "an accident/incident".

There was no love for Sara in this household - except maybe from siblings.
She was an outcast, a "father's" pawn to humiliate an ex wife.

Any theories on the end game for thuggish, violent parents? Does it come as a total surprise when their child's pulse stops despite the signs? Surely adults with the cognitive function enough to pass their drivers license and effect online grocery shopping aren't caught off guard when a dying human dies? Yet as eerily calm as they seemed, there was still some panic in the frantic phone calls and plans to leave the country. Some loose ends untied. Do they anticipate that the whole thing will blow over because the whole of society will find the child as void of value as they do? Or do they think their dying child will heal, pull through and leave home at 16 or 17 having "straightened out" and learnt all their brutal lessons? JMO

Re the trial

So far Prosecution has taken the stage:
- Medical Experts
- Neighbours' testimony
- School/Social S.
- phone experts
- phone messages

If the trial is to end mid December
I guess November will be dedicated to Defence of each of the trio, no?

Guessing that all of them will probably blame one another,
they might play into Prosecution's goal

Well,
Granted,
I'm not an expert of English Law,
but that is what I imagine will happen.

Then, at the beginning of December -
closing speeches, Judge's instructions and...

Voilà!
Jury's deliberations.

Friday, November 1

In the trail of those accused of the murder of 10-year-ol Sara Sharif at the Old Bailey today

the agreed facts of the case were reviewed

which included:
- reports from Sara’s school,
- significant items seized from the address at Hammond Road,
- bank account statements,
- and details of the arrests of the defendants.

The court heard how concerns were noted by Sara’s school over bruising on her body
in June 2022 and March 2023.

Several items that were seized from Sara’s home address were also reviewed by the court.

These included
a leather belt which had
full DNA samples
at both ends for Sara Sharif, Urfan Sharif and Faisal Malik.

G. Dragon added info to 1st Nov report:

"A cricket bat
also seized from the home was found to have Sara’s DNA profile on it,
along with the DNA sample of
Urfan Sharif and Faisal Malik.

Both items had no DNA trace of Beinash Batool on them.

(a belt, a cricket bat)

The court heard how Sara’s DNA was a match for blood found inside a carrier bag at the home address,
as well as on the handles of the bag and on a piece of brown tape.

Hairs found in this
exhibit were also a match for Sara.

It was also highlighted to the jury
that Beinash Batool was the only defendant who had refused to
provide dental impressions of her teeth to be compared with bite marks found on Sara.

At one point,
a member of the jury asked if an electric iron found at Sara’s family home had been tested for fingerprints or DNA.

It was explained that although it was swabbed for DNA,
the results were inconclusive.

The iron was not tested for fingerprints because, as an ordinary household item likely handled by multiple people, it would not have had evidential value."
