Wait, I did not see that... are you referring to “329 ADVISED OF A POSSIBLE SUICIDE ATTEMPT”?

329 is the officer on the scene looking at a body and believing it to be a suicide.
Thank you for clarifying, I'm at work and believe I read that too quickly. I just still find it interesting that was their immediate belief, even after receiving a 911 call with sounds of a disturbance in the background.

From the un-redacted police log, it sounds to me that James opened the door to LE officer. Anyone else read it that way? I think that the perp came into the house, tortured (for lack of a better word) Jayme and Denise. James came home from work around 12:10, and a struggle ensued. However, I, like many of you, cannot figure out why the perp would take Jayme instead of killing her (I hate even typing that out). It just seems like the perp already killed two, what is one more? Really trying to figure out a motive for why they kidnapped Jayme.
I did not read as JC/Dad answered the door to LE. How was Dad shot and several spent bullets on the floor with LE on the scene? Are you saying that LE shot James? That's not plausible. MOO

That implies the area maybe loaded with cameras, perhpss even as far out as the road

You can look at a Google Maps Streeview image from the road and see quite a few cameras 20-30 feet from the road at the Casino. There are quite a few turn-offs and small country roads before the casino though -- no guarantee the car went that far on the highway.

If they did continue on that road to the casino I'd be willing to be there is some footage but I don't think it's a sure thing.

No and we don't know exactly where he was working and we don't know what time Jayme and her Mom came home from the Sunday afternoon party. Lots we don't know....

Both James and Denise worked at Jennie-O Turkey.

In a small town like this I think if it were someone with a direct connection to the family, a known feud for example, then the LE would have been making an arrest in a few hours or the next day. Secrets are hard to keep

Not once did I imply LE shot James. It is possible to be shot and still answer a door. Obviously depends on the severity. I took it from this sentence: ADVISED THAT THE MALE WHO IS DOWN HAD ANSWERED THE DOOR." Which could be he answered door to perp, as well.

I also find it interesting that the dispatcher initially logged the disturbance as suicidal. Do they typically do this when they hear people yelling in the background? My immediate thought would be a robbery or break in. I wonder what caused them to believe suicide?

If someone was threatening to kill themselves in the call that was placed to 911, its possible they heard that and logged it as a suicidal person in the home. Or... if they heard someone in the home yelling something like, "don't do it!!" they might have thought it was a suicide attempt in progress. To me, the dad was found dead in the front entry way, and police could tell he had answered the door to someone before he was met with his demise. Its likely obvious based on how he was dressed (pjs?) and or how he was positioned (eg: slumped right near the door?). If someone kicked it in before they killed the victim, he might actually have been behind the door - eg: he's answering the door when it gets kicked in so he is behind it somewhat, then the assailant murders him right there.

The latest post by the Barron County Sheriff's Department provides some greater detail about what behavior to be on the lookout for.

Even more interesting, IMO, is the last paragraph that asks for info from anyone who has spent time with the parents recently, or who ever had "misunderstandings" with any of their family members:

Barron County Sheriff's Department
In addition, we are seeking information about the victims, Denise and James Closs. We are hopeful to learn more about the Closs family to help bring Jayme home. If you spent time with members of the Closs family recently, or if you have ever had a misunderstanding with members of the Closs family, or know someone who has, please call the tipline.

“If you have ever had a misunderstanding” Odd.

Do we know when he come home from work yet?
Don't believe that info has been reported. 3-11pm is common shift and depending on distance from work, Dad likely just got home.

NEW INFO IN SEARCH FOR JAYME: A dispatch log that the Barron County Sheriff's Dept. released Friday offers a few new details from that night:

⚪ The dispatcher "could hear a lot of yelling" during the 911 call.

⚪ The call was "pinged" to the Closs' home. When the dispatcher called the number back, a voicemail greeting indicated that the phone belonged to Denise Closs.

⚪ A responding officer found "the door has been kicked in."

⚪ The family dog was there when deputies arrived, and was eventually taken to a relative's home.

Be aware that the officers who initially respond generally have very little info to go on. It’s most likely were responding to what they had been told was a 911 open line and possible domestic disturbance. Arriving at the scene 4 minutes later, seeing there’s no one else around, and finding a man dead of a gunshot wound probably initially looks like a suicide. Even upon finding multiple spent casings and a second body, initial impression is likely murder/suicide.

LE arrived 4 minutes after the 9-11 call. They were only minutes behind Jayme.

someone posted yesterday the labor shift times at the plant - not sure if he would follow that if the plant is where he worked that Sunday and if he is management - worked the same shift times IMO

That to me sounds *almost* like they're appealing to the assailant(s) to come forward. They're framing the murders / abduction perhaps in a minimalistic way (as a misunderstanding) so as to appeal to the assailant(s) that this wasn't their fault, that this was just something that got out of hand, and they can sort it out (get out of it) by contacting police. I think that is a message to the offender(s), more than to the general public. MOO.

Some new information finally.

Poor doggie. He’s just like Deiter in the Watts case, likely saw his family harmed, poor guy. I hope he’s okay. Sending love and virtual treats.

What if the Dad kicked the door in? Maybe a wife's guest or friend and an altercation ensued... or someone was already in the house prior to the dad getting off work.
I have wondered if someone else was visiting mom and/or daughter in house before dad got home.

Yes but we have never heard where he was working that particular Sunday - could be home depot...

What do you mean by this? He possibly had a second job?
