I tend to agree with this. I'd rather have police officers focused on helping people. Vehicle license plate/registration issues are pretty low on the list of things police officers should worry about IMO. Obviously it would have made a difference in this case, but that's not the norm.
If you provide a link and quote from it then there will at least be a record of it. You can also take screen shots.
I’d caution a little bit against the idea that things are often changed or removed. Does it happen? Sure. But also keep in mind that your memory isn’t infallible - sometimes...
I believe what the sheriff meant was that she fled on foot from the house where she was being held by the perp.
I didn't hear them say anything about fleeing from her family home in Barron by foot the night she was abducted.
I think this can be where we run into issues with different people having different definition of things.
For example, I would call it a random crime if the victim does not know the perpetrator. (Doesn't mean that the perp hasn't done research on the victim.)
I know others would say it is...
That is one question that kept being asked, and I think we sort of have an answer now.
This creep clearly wanted to take her away for himself. To do that you need to be able to make a getaway. You also need to take out those close to them so that your victim has no one but you.
If someone knew the neighborhood he lived in and his age it would be fairly easy to find a name. Both of those things were available last night. Doesn't take much. I found it last night as well, but declined to say anything on here until he was publicly identified.
I believe in the last thread someone asked if LE has really said the neighbors' timeline of the gunshots they heard is off. The sheriff has given indications it is off in other interviews, but here is a link that seems to show LE thinks they are wrong.
'You almost never see this': 5 questions...
It's been mentioned here.
Tough to say whether or not finding it was important for the case. Lots of people have old tablets/computers/etc. that they store away when they get a new one. Could have been nothing, or it could have been something
That is a good question to help get us back on track. (Been following along without commenting for a bit here.)
I'll say 2 things:
1. I'm really starting to lean toward a targeted attack by someone who wasn't known to the family. It's possible, if not likely, that the perp observed the family...
I know this has already been posted, but I'll do it again. This is the Dryden interview, which is really a great source for information. Would Highly Recommend. It is unedited and the words are from the Sheriff himself.

AMBER ALERT - WI - Jayme Closs, 13, Barron, missing after parents found shot, 15 Oct 2018 *endangered* #26
A little nitpicky on my part, but panty thief was arrested on Oct 27

(I can't prove that this document hasn't been edited, but it says he entered the Closs home at approximately 2:22am on Oct 27 and was arrested...
Haha
Yup, happens here all the time.
1) Jayme's uncle said he had lots of different ideas about what happened
2) I think I heard Jayme's uncle say he had an idea what happened
3) Jayme's uncle said he had a good idea of what happened and he looked angry when he said it
4) I can't find the...
About the crime itself? Some things do some things don’t. I think a lot will make more sense if/when it is solved.
I think LE’s investigative steps make sense. I think the distraught/angry/confused nature of the family makes sense. One thing from the first few days that I thought made sense but...
Nothing ever from LE about 12:31.
In fact the sheriff said the neighbors hearing the shots is totally unsubstantiated, at least the timing of them. LE is going with a much shorter timeline.
