Looks like Cappleman is seeking a judicial appointment. I wonder how this will affect the case if she leaves the prosecution. She's one of 12 applicants, but it seems like she's one of...
KM is no doubt playing a high stakes game if she's truly trusting that she can cut a deal post conviction. There's always the chance that there will be another break in the case between now and then and the SA won't even need her testimony. Plus, even if she can beat jail time, she's still going...
For all the details:

Ah, I wasn't aware that this opened an avenue for appeal, so I guess it could just be a procedural formality. Nonetheless, it should be interesting if it happens to shake anything up on the defense's side - thanks!
Thanks, reallybusy!
I was initially in the no-collaboration camp - feeling that this view bordered on conspiracy theory territory. It would seem to be an extreme breach of ethical standards for attorneys and could jeopardize the offending attorney(s) license(s).
This motion clearly...
Looks like Florida's high court reinstated the death penalty. Maybe this will give the prosecution the leverage they need to start extracting some plea deals.

Probably not the place to get into a debate about the death penalty, but you're correct in your inference; I'm pretty sure Markel explicitly objected to the death penalty either in writing or in a speech (or both).
From a practical standpoint, however, it does put the state in a better...
Interesting point about the death penalty. According to one news source:
"A Senate panel on Monday approved a bill requiring a unanimous jury verdict and a similar measure is being considered in the state House. The legislation could be among the first bills passed and sent to Gov. Rick...
If this is the case, "upsetting your father" would be quite the understatement.
"Now, honey, I don't want you to get upset, but Charles and I have been using your business as a front to pay off a woman who served as an intermediary to help retain two goons to brutally murder Wendi's ex-husband...
I read through the transcript. Some interesting points about the Adelson's involvement:
-Looks like everyone agrees that Rivera erred when he claimed to see Wendi walking with her kids. The children would have been in daycare.
-Nonetheless, the record does state that the prosecutor presented...
"Wendi is not a public figure, and its beyond the pale that people are coming after this young lawyer and single mom in an attempt to demonize her."
Always playing the victim...I know KM's lawyers have made much of her status as a single mom to garner some sympathy, but invoking the same...
You have to wonder what the A's are thinking right now. Unless they are completely oblivious, the anticipation of their likely arrests has to be almost as bad as the incarceration itself. Do they really think KM, a woman who had no problem sealing a man's fate in exchange for a used car...
Probation? Wow. If this is common practice, it doesn't exactly send a great message to potential intermediaries. If the police don't close in on you, you get a get a lot of cash. If you do get caught, just turn on your client and walk away (probably still with the cash).
I suppose at this point, KM is going to have to take a deal; it has to be way too risky for her to try to take this to trial. IMO, the deck is too stacked for her to take the gamble: Rivera's testimony, the phone calls, the financial transactions are hard to explain.
That said, the SA had...
Look like Meggs' successor, Jack Campbell won the state attorney election; hope he's more aggressive about this case than his outgoing boss:
http://news.wfsu.org/post/jack-campbell-wins-state-attorneys-race
I agree that there is way too much evidence against her. The only reason she wouldn't talk is if she truly is innocent, which looks (IMO) highly unlikely at this point. Otherwise, the jig is up and she's risking way too much by holding firm. She had no compunction about twisting CA's arm after...
ABC has obtained a copy of the police interview with WA's ex-BF:
http://abcnews.go.com/US/fsu-law-professors-boyfriend-claims-brother-talked-killing/story?id=42065242
“She [Wendi Adelson] told me that Charlie had looked into having Danny killed in the summer of 2013,” Lacasse told...
