I don't know how to answer that.. I suppose yes, the same as around any town. I know of more on the east side of town but this particular area isn't known for any group/s.
My initial reply was 'No, they're living IN town' as there are several co-housing groups in the area. These are NOT groups...
Do you know, I was just reading this thinking.. no, as a matter of fact. Then a copter just went over.. so what is it, 10:40am (if you want to check with scanner peeps etc).
Haven't had the news on today.
Try using www.portlandmaps.com (gov't site). You'll find the assessors infor you want, and much easier to navigate to neighbor properties w/out knowing their names.
Can you say which neighbor was searched? Jim Kelley is close enough to be called a neighbor (across CP Road).
Yes, fishing and all sorts of rec, as just posted. It used to be one of my favorite fishing places (before I discovered gardening). Now it's one of my favorite nursery haunts.
However, the area of water they are searching is the Multnomah Channel, next to the highway. The channel is not...
hmm, point taken. :)
I used the assumption that LE had OK'd or somehow coordinated their installation. I should have considered that someone else arranged/encouraged it. CC isn't exactly known for its largess around here, anyway (didn't seem to me like something CC would initiate).
Wasn't LE...
Emma, interesting thinking; I haven't seen that put forward before, about being away for the weekend as a motivator.
About the last part, and without digging out the transcript, I interpreted that differently. I was transcribing the PC where the questions/answer to the family were being read...
I wish I had your confidence, swa. I'm still catching up from last night but have not seen mentioned today the billboard array donated by Clear Channel.
Clear Channel donates billboards to help bring Kyron Horman home
Clear Channel Outdoor of Oregon and Southwest Washington donated materials...
Thanks again :)
Well, like it or not, it's definitely the trend here. In fact, I know of a preK-8. But I don't think the kids mix too much.
The transfers thing is very common here too (much to the dismay of at least one local high school...)
But were they wonderful? I fully intended to...
That was my first thought too!
Jim Kelley. Details in the map linked in my siggy.
There's a couple of very interesting comments on that page btw <koff koff>.
The thing about a Sauvie Island resident connection though?
LE is searching a very specific part of the island, which isn't near any residences.
Now I know that earlier they were searching (reportedly) near the Pumpkin Patch and possible Krueger's (none of this was ever confirmed IIRC) but...
I found his public record information last week.. Thanks, DA's office. :waitasec:
sofia76, I read it a different way.
"At approximately 11 a.m, St. Helens Public Works supervisor Neal Sheppeard saw Phipps as he was driving down Belton Road. Police arrived and arrested Phipps."
I think it...

Yeah, the only part is the lack of transportation. But how much do they know about this guy? Was he able to borrow a car from a family member?
FWIW, his original offenses (quite old IIRC) were in Lane County, down valley. And think about it, if you had a choice about where...
It certainly looks weird.. except..
Residents/police in St Helens know Phipps, and say he lives in a tent outside of town/on the edge of town. It's too far for him to make it on foot.
It feels a lot more like a coincidence than anything else. I mean, it would be great and all, if they had The...
haha.. you will appreciate this story then (maybe?!). Yesterday, we laid down some gravel that a neighbor gave us; he brought it home from his work (yeah, right off Hwy 30 :(). My DH/DarlingHusband was saying how he preferred the color of it to what we already have and Neighbor says, well, now...
