I didn't read any hostility into daisytrail's post. She's simply making the point ( from what I understand) that a girl or woman can do everything "right" (e.g., have the best role models, never do drugs or spend time around those who do) and still be raped, kidnapped, murdered, etc.

Picking on him? Ell oh ell. Is that what you call it? This guy kidnapped Christina, threw her into the trunk of his car (after doing something violent to her, since her blood was in his trunk), and refuses to tell where she is... Yeah, I think I'm OK with "picking" on him. Obviously, my opinion.

That's a good point, Daisytrail. LE (speaking in general) isn't always trustworthy, and certainly doesn't always treat everyone (or each case) the same. However in this case, the cops do seem fairly competent. That is my opinion, obvsly, and I could be completely wrong. [emoji4]

Awesome post, Le Singe. Proof that OCD can be a beautiful thing. [emoji6]

I'm a woman, but I find it not hard at all to imagine a man's rage at a woman for refusing him -- my god, it's a huge part of our culture in a lot of ways.

Hopefully they'd have more to go on than just the word of ppl anxious to not look guilty of doing something like dealing or buying directly from a dealer. I mean, it would be easy for the friends to think they may as well put the blame on her, since she's not there to get in trouble for it. Just...

To think otherwise is crazy? Ell oh ell. I assume that is your opinion?

I feel like I missed a chapter or two... Are y'all talking in code or do I need to go back and reread some posts? [emoji1]

Oh, duh. After I posted, I had a vague recollection of something like that. Ugh @ my fuzzy brain today!

I don't consider it as a negative term coming from a Brit, but it does slightly confuse me. [emoji1]

This went through my mind, as well, in response to the same post. Of course, I have no way of knowing what he's thinking/feeling inside, but from the outside, he appears to be rather deficient in the area of feeling and empathy.

Steve, no flogging needed, IMO. I still think that *the words that shan't be uttered* could be inferred from the information recently released, but of course, that is my opinion.

Heh. This reminds me of my teen years, spent as an Ohio transplant in SC -- never thought of myself as a "yankee" until my first day in South Carolina. Pretty sure at least one person a day called me that during my 5-6 years there! [emoji6]

Is it known (as in, public knowledge) whether or not landfills have been searched (for Christina)?
