    State v Bradley Cooper 4-13-11

I work for a company that does a lot of work for DOD and our systems are likely more secure than anything used by Cisco internally. These changes are still possible on our systems it just takes more time and skill. The illusion of security is normally much higher than the reality of it and...

Note that this not how I would accomplish this if I was doing a forgery to fool someone, just this would be a way to do it quickly. There are more untraceable ways out there, they just take a lot of time and expert knowledge.

I don't believe it was tampered with, but the possibility is certainly there. No matter what anyone tells you, I feel confident that if I was given enough time and complete physical access to this computer I myself could fabricate the evidence without anybody later detecting what I had done...

    State v Bradley Cooper 4-13-11

If you have time and unlimited physical access to a computer this would a possibility. All you have to do is change the date on the computer (in windows, to the best of my knowledge, time changes by the user are not logged anywhere), access the pages at the "new" time, and then change the date...

Just to keep myself interested: Why does the FBI agent seem to be non-committal about the exact area of the aerial photos being turned into the TIF files?

Ok, as a techie and someone with very high knowledge level about windows computers, a "Cursor File" sounds odd. Wish I could here this testimony!!!

If he was just browsing around and zoomed in on this location, then put a fork in his bum... If he did a map search from his house to say anyplace in Fuquay-Varina, it would have suggested a route right past fielding drive. On google maps this would by default load a picture that include...

    State v Bradley Cooper 4-13-11

I am pretty upset that this portion of the case is not being televised or at least recorded with audio. The nuances of this testimony could mean everything.

    State v Bradley Cooper 4-13-11

If there is no context to this (IE, directions in the form of a google map from house to somewhere else might show an aerial image), then this is your smoking gun...

Really? I used to babysit my friends kids once a month or so while watching his TV or surfing the web on his computer. Between naps and letting them watch a cartoon or 2 you can have a considerable amount of free time where you are in the same room with them but don't have to provide any kind...

Sorry I thought the job search was on the 15th. I agree that is odd.

He was directly accused by other people other than the police of being responsible for NC being missing before she was found. JA, NC's sister, etc. I am not looking to argue this in circles, my main point is as a tech guy, searching the web for clues makes the utmost of sense to me.

    State v. Bradley Cooper 4-12-2011

After they found my wife dead? I have no clue what I would do at that point. Considering the call from NC's sister and the accusations from JA I doubt I would plan on staying in the immediate area. I am not trying to defend all of his actions but I know I would check the web for my still...

    State v. Bradley Cooper 4-12-2011

Not if I was watching my two young children and there was already a huge number of people looking and it had already been 2 days. I am a tech guy and I would feel like I would have to check the internet for any clues. Especially if this visit to the site was at night I know I would be looking...

I wouldn't talk to the police unless I had too either. "Protective Custody" is a thinly veiled reference to "we think you did this" in my book.

    State v. Bradley Cooper 4-12-2011

I think if my loved one was missing I would be checking all over the web for clues. WS would be prime place check for information from people that might not otherwise be able to get their information to me or the police. Even just get some ideas on how to find them or what people are saying...

The FBI agents testimony clearly contradicts this. Files were changed between July 15th and when he began his examination. Not after he began his analysis, but before. How could this happen if not done by someone at CPD, accidentally or otherwise.

    State v. Bradley Cooper 4-12-2011

There is no "accidentally" turning on a computer here. Digital forensics have very specific rules and procedures which were definitely not followed in this case. This mistake will end up putting much more doubt into the case for sure.

    State v. Bradley Cooper 4-12-2011

Mundane or not, no files should be changed on the computer. Under no circumstances should CPD have booted any of the computers but the FBI expert testified files had been modified after seizure of the computers. While I am not directly saying that CPD did anything here, this opens up the...

    State v. Bradley Cooper 4-12-2011

There was no reason to power the computer on period. Computer forensics depends on the computer NOT running, just making copies of and analyzing the data on it. Just like DNA evidence, etc, it must be handled with the utmost care in order to admissible in court under most circumstances...
