http://www.msgr.com/news/local_news/article_35c40320-f72e-11e3-af64-001a4bcf887a.html One phone call being pursued involved a cell phone found on the counter in the Dermonds’ house, Sills said. It also was a dead end, he said. Sills said the office continues to get text messages...

Lol, we are on the same wavelength!! I spent yesterday afternoon combing the arrest reports from surrounding areas. Looking for a crime without bail that seems minor enough that it *should* have bail....

Has the theory been brought up yet that Sills may already have someone in custody? Is it possible that right away there was someone who they suspected and picked up for an entirely different crime? The lack of police protection for the area seems odd as does a lack of urgency. Everything seems...

In fact, Westclox was bought out by Talley Systems in the late 1970's, I believe. Talley was a company specializing military defense manufacturing and acquired Westclox because they made an instrument that went in military jets. Shortly after that time, the Dermonds moved to AZ...

It's not on their business website, it's linked on their business page on a popular social media site. Btw, the monetary plea had a tie to something out of state...

After reading all the posts today, and the new information about the computer log on, it got me to thinking. Very recently, the Dermonds had family in town, and their house was described as immaculate. At first, Sills said they had no outside help, but that changed rather recently to that they...

That would certainly explain his son's comment about how SD 'never gossiped' might have been a message that they didn't have to kill her too...

Hi all, Sorry for all the early morning posts...with kids home for the summer, it seems like it's the only time I have to think clearly! I've been able to catch up each night reading everyone's comments though. :) A couple of things that occur to me after reading all of our comments over...

As someone mentioned earlier, Sills made a comment that they had a great video shot of the Dermond's dock, but not 'the area in question' (great post Hickory Born!!!!). If you take a look at the pictures from the link above, there are a couple things that stand out. 1) The crime scene van...

Just looked at the "premiere" Lake Oconee dock builder... The hydraulic boat lifts on the website look just like RD's and they have the exact cover for sale as well. I think it said 1000-1500 lbs. is enough for most boats on the lake.

I can't believe there isn't a handrail on those steps. Maybe someone was in the process of removing and replacing it... Perhaps that could be 'someone' who was in contact with the Dermonds recently. It could explain why a red flag wouldn't be raised if someone pulled up at their dock on...

I'm with you...the derby had nothing to do with this at all. People don't get to 90 years old and throw their lives away on petty gambling. I think the extended family has been VERY specifically instructed by FBI in their movements right now...low profile, no more comments to media, no...

It never occurred to me that the murder weapon could be something as simple as a brick. Something so compact and small...hard to get a good hold on without bashing one's own finger, I'd imagine. All this time, I've been thinking about the beheading to remove bullets. It never entered my...

Maybe whoever's fingerprints they found in the house weren't on record. But is it possible LE cleaned up the scene completely, redusted with fingerprint powder and turned the house back to the family? Did they then redust for fingerprints after the funerals? (A few days ago when Sills...

I don't want to belabor the point, but it doesn't make sense that the killer would try to frame SD by decapitating her husband. It would take significant strength to beheadsomeone if you don't do it in the right area. And a woman born and bred in NJ and CT society who went to Barnard is not...

While it is a valid point that the bullet itself may not link to a specific person or gun, it may however, link the crime to another similar crime. By combining evidence from two crime scenes, it would probably exponentially increase the chances of identifying a POI.

Oh, I think we all forgot a HUGE one (thanks Edward Snowden). Um, anyone in the ENTIRE world who has a cell phone with the fingerprint ID app on it! lol I guess that would just be for the NSA's use though ;)

Anyone with a green card, as opposed to full American citizenship, has to go to the FBI and have their fingerprints taken before their green card is issued, or reissued. In some states, people in social work also have fingerprints taken. Many schools offer an optional service where you can...

If the killer really wanted someone, ANYONE, to think SD committed RD's murder, there is no way they would have decapitated him. Shot him, yes. But an 88 year old woman is not going to have the strength to wield a weapon powerful enough to sever a head. With the information we have...
