I wonder what factors the judge weighs while trying to decide her sentence. Are there guidelines he must follow, or is it truly whatever he wants to do? Is he allowed to think about the murder charges that were dropped, or is he supposed to disregard those?
I was so disappointed when the murder charges were dropped against AS, but I now see it as a stroke of brilliance. No matter what happens with this trial, the looming possibility that she could again face murder charges will be hanging over Andrea's head forever. I believe the DA will continue...
Good grief, I agree, maybe they are trying to bore the jury to death. She in no way acts like a woman whose husband was just murdered. She acts like a woman at a cocktail party or something.
If she does go to jail for the lesser charges, wonder what happens to the kids? I guess her parents will get them until she gets out. I really feel for Rusty's family.
One other note about the suicide theory - I personally have never thought that was what Diane was trying to do, though it certainly warrants discussion because it is as likely as any other theory. But if someone wants to commit suicide, doing it in a car is NOT a sure fire method. You are...
I watched the clip - it's only a segment of the entire interview with Andrea's friends. I sure hope the interviewer asked the hard questions - how do you reconcile the Andrea you know with the testimony that she knew her husband had been shot before anyone had told her? How about how she...
OK - I personally didn't need to be further convinced that Andrea is complicit in her husband's murder, but talking about who should play her in a movie?????!!!! WTF? This woman is a piece of work. Her husband is DEAD and grief for him doesn't even factor into her life. If I were Sandra...
I have not read through this whole thread, so please forgive me if I speak out of turn. I truly think his version of what happened is as likely as the version the prosecution is offering up. Witnesses are notoriously unreliable, and this detective has obviously not done his homework and it...
I read his manifesto, and even though it's clear something is seriously wrong with him, he seems intelligent. He sounds like he has been stewing about perceived slights for literally years and years. What if he has basically pulled off a stunt that makes everyone look over HERE which gives him...
To me, the worst part of what he did was how he treated people who tried to tell the truth. Honestly, I bet some of those people felt their lives were ruined, at least at the time. I don't think there is anything he can say that can mitigate that behavior.
I believe Brian Murtaugh hit the nail on the head in his account of what he believed happened the night of the murders, which he recounted in the Washington Post article. MacDonald snapped when he saw Kimberly wet the bed, Collette tried to defend her daughter by grabbing the rusty knife, he...
The Washington Post article was excellent, yet it left me feeling so disheartened about our legal system. Basically, several people have had to make it a main mission in their lives to ensure that MacDonald stays behind bars. Where does it all end? When can the victim's family ever feel that...
I think, for me, the reason I am not as upset at the fact that he actually doped is because the drug issue has several contributing factors. Of course, the athlete wants to be the best, but we (the public) like to watch people do extraordinary things and break records, and the media likes it...
