Well the heck did she spend 25K on? Gambling fits, at least to get her into debt but what fits better is loansharks to pay off a debt. You don't pay back + all of the interest the debt just keeps getting bigger and more dangerous. Anyone know anything about the current breed of loansharks out there today.

I'm embarrassed to say I do know about the current breed of loansharks. Let me state first that I DO NOT BELIEVE any of this applies to Caylee's "disapperance" so consider it O/T except that I am answering the above question. Please feel free to skip over this as even the short version is long! About 5 years ago I became friends with a former pro-wrestler (not a very famous one) who lived in here in town when he came to my aid after a car accident. He seemed like a truly nice person and I went to dinner with him several times. He made a lot of trips - amazingly enough - to Florida for side jobs. I didn't think anything of it. Then after dinner one night he said he wanted to introduce me to one of his friends and took me to a very average looking building on a very busy road here. It seemed to be a nice lounge/sportsbar combo and I thought nothing of it when he left for a moment to talk with a (seemingly) nice older man there. However, I started getting nervous when he took me into another room in the lounge to show me a man who he (insanely) thought I would want to meet because of his nickname - which I don't dare repeat here (but did discretely pass along to a friend in local LE). The man was freaky looking and sleeping in the floor at which point I realize these nice people in the other room were not what they seemed!! A minute later the "nice" older man in the lounge mentioned another side job for the next weekend. The idiot I was with then confessed to me when we were alone again that the side job was "debt collecting", but not to worry - he was the nice guy who went in first to collect $$$ and only "broke a bone" if needed. The sleeping man in the other room was the guy who went in second to finish the job if this idiot didn't succeed!! Needless to say I found an excuse to get the he** out of dodge really quickly!!! The idiot kept spilling the beans on the drive home - bragging about low level connections to the former Gotti clan!! By the next time he called I had invented a jealous new boyfriend in LE and told him we wouldn't be a good idea for us to stay in contact. All that being said, in many discussions we had before I knew any of these horrible things he was emphatic about his love for kids and how there was never any excuse to harm one. While I think this guy and all his associates are scum and I hate that I even know they exist, I can honestly say that the one thing I believe is that he never would hurt a child. I even threw it up in his face during his "confessional" and he said no one he knew would ever harm the family member of anyone they were after...something to do with their "code". Honor among thieves (and worse) I guess. I never heard from this freak again after the jealous LE boyfriend convo, I gave all the information I found out to a real friend in LE then tried my best to forget that I had come so close to something so insane without realizing it sooner!

I had to stop because it was all the stuff Rick said. She didn't say that, but WE KNEW IT 2 DAYS AGO.

They must have hooked up, I wonder if she proved his identity, since she wouldn't say it was him.

I'm sure she wouldn't put it on the air if she hadn't at least proved he is who he said he is. If she didn't, and he turned out to be a fake, she would look like an idiot. I don't see Greta as being a sloppy person.

To gamble online you have to have a back account somewhere. You have to be able to pay for in ONLINE - through paypal or other type of payment services. Don't think she had access to something like that. IMO

prepaid credit card would work 1-2 years ago. not sure if it still would or not, some laws have been passed recently that changed things

Speculating on the stolen money. Could Caylee's mom have leased an apartment or house somewhere, a secret getaway to spend her 'working hours,' a place to take her daughter to the frequently mentioned, though possibly non-existent, 'nanny,' a hideway for secret business ventures? Maybe the reason she thought of the Sawgrass was that she had been there looking for accomodation. Like someone else said earlier on WS, maybee Casey had been there before causing her to return with the cop and maybe that's where she encountered Zenaida. For a while the apartment people or the police seemed to think Casey might have been there before, perhaps posing as Zenaida. Maybe they were both there, only Zenaida used her real name but Casey made another one up but remembered Zenaida's and used it later adding a Hyphen-Fernandez. Perhaps, she'd recently acquired enough cash for first and last month, the damage deposit and was more than ready to move into her own place, on the sly of course. Maybe she didn't take that apartment and ended up with another somewhere. Wonder if police are looking for a secret love..., eh sorry, business nest.

The moderator of that site identified him due to pics he sent. Then he was put in contact with Greta from that site....and tonite the stories matched up! I'm sure Greta verified it all before putting that on the air.

PokerStars? That's one of the online poker sites that US users can access - many of them either don't allow US IP addresses, or people don't use them because credit card companies won't allow US customers to place money in their gambling accounts.

those poker sites let people USE phone cards or some convoluted mess

No way - no how. and definitely NOT YEARS. I have witnessed first hand (poor friend choices over the years) go down in flames (some even 6 feet under now) over drugs. Casey does not show any signs of serious drug addiction - and I mean addiction to many various drugs.

It's funny, Swag, when I posted, I was thinking of "friends" and acquaintances I've known over the years with big drug problems who didn't show outward physical signs for a very long time. Different drugs, maybe?

I'm not saying that she blew all of that money on drugs. I do believe, and have from day one, that Casey and Cindy, maybe dad, too, are AT LEAST on heavy duty prescription psych drugs. And, it's very possible that Casey was mixing those with party drugs.

Correct - greta reported all the stuff we already heard through Rick - Greta only called him "a source" - but I truly believe Greta had to have checked him out before reporting this.

Ok - let's look at this gambling idea. What does Orlando have in way of venues for gambling? I don't think they have any "casinos" - what kind of tracks to they have?
Or - guess - she could have been doin' in online - that was George's shictk IMO

I can't speak for Orlando, but my unexpected experience here was hidden behind a very average facade and catered to a much older crowd than Casey would have been involved with. I also am aware of several small "poker houses" and "electronic poker machine" rings that run ironically in the back of pawn shops that specialize in selling very large safes and firearms! There were a few of those that got busted around here a while back. Crazy world we live in!

I'm a lurker but I just wanted to throw out there that she could have been using pills like vicodin or oxy's. You can spend a pretty penny real quick and not necessarily look strung out.

Well, Greta's source has the same info as Rick. And I would think Greta would have verified him, no? And if it's not Rick? Who else would it be that Greta could have verified? Another brother? Another family member? You could pm Joseph. He was the last person I know who was going to hook Rick up with Greta.
