I know.. and I wish I could remember the source of the original report. It was quite a substantial media source, but one I was not familiar with.. one of the few more in depth articles, there weren't many at all..the article included their tax returns but that was not main focus of article..possibly very soon after his arrest.. Gave some of his family history as well, far as I remember. Sorry, goggle eyed from lack of sleep right now..

Well, we do actually because they were reported. Twice. Once early on as part of a larger news story and again in the past week on this thread. Both reports were consistent with each other. Believe me , I do not make this stuff up.
I remember the talk about a possible storage unit - did anything come of that possibility?

I don't think this is granular enough to say with any certainty that there are a couple hundred a month of unaccounted-for rent dollars.

there you go. Now if you google his address you will find an advertisment for his apartment block and it will state the rents applicable for each unit.. $600-$650 per month
From article
ncial affidavit filed July 3 lists Christensen as unemployed, while showing his wife makes $1,800 a month. The couple pay $900 a month in rent, $100 in utilities and $150 in other costs, according to the affidavit.

Christensen qualifies for a public defender because his spouse only makes $2,500 a month, he has $60,000 in student loans and has $4,000 in car loans.

My internet connection was broken when I tried to post this last part. :tantrum: It lasted several hours. :gaah:

Well, nothing is proven if we don't know for what the rent was exactly.
ETA: Thank you, kitty! Your info #347 helps!! :) So $250 - $300 for another object than the apartment.

I googled it. What I found is that they are listed as costing "from" $600/month, meaning that is the least you would pay for a one-bedroom apartment. That does not mean that every unit costs between $600-650/month. That means that $600/month is the absolute least you'd pay. Two bedroom apartments cost more. They may charge for things like parking, they may have pet fees, etc. I think that the affidavit would mention that the rent is for two places, not one, and I would imagine that they had to show evidence of their expenses, i.e., leases or cancelled checks, when they applied for a public defender, so I think that if they said their rent is $900 for their apartment, that is probably what it costs. Maybe they also had a storage unit, maybe not, but if so, I would imagine investigators know about it based on financial records.

It seems to me to be pretty easy to spend a couple extra hundred dollars a month between two people on gym memberships, movies, video games, etc.

I'm not sure whether it could be included as rent in a financial affidavit ?
Its possible..
Does he have a garage that he rents? He has two cars so maybe the extra was for a garage?
This reminds me about something I remember seeing on the police logs. It was something about a rental vehicle found at the Urbana airport that had been hired on a stolen credit card. Also, many items being stolen from the uni like laptops. There was even some items stolen from locked labs. Now this made me think a vehicle could have been hired to dispose of a body. If it was hired on a stolen credit card then it couldn't be traced could it?

Anyway, these thoughts are all JMO.

Good thinking and I was thinking the same while going through all the University Police logs of incidents...I was searching for him in all the crimes..there is a lot of theft going on.

I had not thought of the stolen cred cards and a rental aspect , however. Its a very exciting concept.. if it pans out in any shape or form it could open a massive can of worms... showing not only amazing planning skills, but the possibility of commercial motive..

I can't remember exactly when i saw this but the uni police have a publically available police log. When the incident regarding the guy impersonating LE trying to entice a woman in to her car was reported, the log was linked on here then and that was when I looked through the items. It is on this forum and I will see if I can locate it for you. Which bit were you interested in the rental vehicle or the stolen uni items?

I wonder if LE have solved any of those thefts? How would we find out?
Do you remember the post that provides the link to the police log for Mrs. Obrien to take a look?

Eta
This is the website of the uni police. There is a feature to download a crime report of the prior 60 days so that is probably what was shown on this thread at the time of discussion

Thanks! I'm bummed that I can't see the relevant dates since it's a "last 60 days" scroll. Maybe I'll find it here on WS though.

If you know it was your post just click on your profile then on your latest posts. You can scroll through your posts till you find the right one and it will have a post number. That's one way but there is also a way to link it when you find it but I don't know how to do that.
If you were looking at the time to find the LE impersonator that happened on the same day 9 Jun in the a.m.- you must have downloaded the log approx within 60 days of that so around 9 Aug you would have done it - if they had the same system then. Your post must be around that time or before that date. If that helps.

Glad to be of help .
