Hi guys - hoping I've earned a favor from y'all here.

I obviously chose the worst day ever to sleep in extremely late. I just woke up (yes, it is 4pm CT) and saw that I was 30+ pages behind. That alone gave me a bad feeling. My heart is in my stomach.

Can someone please make or link me to a quick recap of exactly what we've learned so far? Is there a link to the police presser? I'm sure this is all in the thread pretty nearby but I just want to jump in now without scouring the 30 pages!

I see that the FBI is involved, there was a dark van seen at the abandoned house a few weeks ago, WH was working in that area, police are not confirming anything yet. Can I get like a bulleted list of facts we've learned, or can someone direct to me which posts are the best for catching up ASAP? Thanks.
 
I didn't post much on AJ's thread because I was afraid of violating WS TOS. I thought WH did this from the getgo. I never believed this smart,caring girl with everything to live for would just walk away and put her family through this agony. So sad and I hope I'm wrong.
 
I have been following AJ's story from the beginning, just not posting very much.

I am about 20 pages behind right now, and just can't bring myself to read them. My heart is so heavy. :(

They found a body. LE isn't confirming identity yet. Family issued a please pray for us statement. WH Facebook support page has been removed. Sister had lost faith in him.

Those are the highlights.


ETA For once, WH has declined an interview.

My head is spinning trying to remember everything,but, I think you have the main facts. I think reading either Joe Fisher or Jemie Lee's tweets will give you everything. Sorry. Not much help.

The mother (JH) may not have been at the presser bc she got in her car to drive to Franklin to identify. I know I would have.

My time frame from the news is that they located a body around 10 am. The news released this information around 1 pm ( when I spoke to local law enforcement). The front yard family spokesman delivered the family message around 4:45 pm.

I did not see any photos or video of JH at the Franklin scene, but I think it would be normal for a mother to drive the hour / hour + 1/2 to see if it was her missing child.

But not much makes sense in this case. Thought I'd throw this out anyway.
 
FWIW and I know this won't be popular, but, I kind of feel sorry for everyone. Seems like WH conned and manipulated everyone around him. I can't imagine the betrayel and hurt they are all feeling. IMO

(And I KNOW his track record. As a mom, sister, daughter, wife...I feel sorry for everyone he hurt, but, most of all Anjelica).

After listening to that, I'm actually feeling bad for her.
 
Well, that interview with WH's sister has just done it for me.

I've really thought, even when listening to him speak, that there was a possibility that he didn't do it. I mean, he's certainly seemed guilty of something to me, but I wasn't convinced he was the actual perpetrator. But hearing the pain in his sister's voice and hearing all of the things he's said to her... I mean, he's guily. This is a sister that was harassing people on social media. Hearing her now - he's done it. I'm sorry to all the people that blindly loved him and held out hope that he was a changed man, but those four minutes just said everything.
 
When asked if Stokes believes her brother is involved in AJ’s disappearance she said, “I don’t know anymore. At one time, I didn’t think he was, but now I don’t know. In my heart I don’t want to believe he did, but there are things that when you start seeing on TV, places they are looking that he would have been, I’m his sister you never want to think that anybody in your family could ever do anything like this.”

I've had to remind myself from the beginning...over and over...that not everyone is brought up the same way. Not everyone has the same amount of education nor money in their bank account. Finally, you cannot (in most cases) choose your family. I've been enraged numerous times by things said by WH and his family...but I tried to remember...his sister and mother especially...that while I dislike to my core how they are defending WH...he is family.

If you have a bad egg in your family you understand. Its disappointing, you want to believe they are good, not capable of evil, you chastise this person in private, but if someone else does you reflexively defend them. It does not make sense, but it happens. And I believe when the accusations are as vile as murder...you want to scream at anyone who'd suggest your family member could be responsible. Hearing WH's sister in that interview is heartbreaking. For the first time the fog has lifted and she is seeing what the rest of us have seen from the start.

I'm not justifying anything...I'm rationalizing behavior that does not seem remotely rational.
