JA - Dr. did you prepare this document that counsel is about to enter into evidence.

Logan - Yes

JA is questioning his statement, as it does not seem to be accurate.

Logan saying it is semantics.

JA saying nevermind.

why is JW even in the court room??? I ask this honestly... not in snark

Probably for the same reason that "Sheba in Illinois" calls in to NG every darn day. Just cannot stop herself from interjecting herself into the case at every opportunity....

Looks like HHJP is accepting the piece of paper into evidence - a big sigh before he said this.

Oh good grief - is carbon tetrachloride present in any other thing besides human decomposition? Yes. Is it unique? No. Now moving on to fatty acids...

Because this is a Frye argument - it looks to me that HHJP is letting this stuff in "for consideration" just to keep this moving along. JA just looks so exasperated....

it may not be unique to decomposition but i'd think that along with "it smells like theres been a dead body in the damned car" might be a clue.

Here we go with the "Velveeta Theory." *rolleyes*

The Sidebar thread will be opening soon! Drinks on the house! :floorlaugh:

Hang on, y'all are doing FANTASTIC considering this hearing! :great:

OMG! You did have to brag right before they start in on the fatty acids!! Now I gotta be good!:banghead: :floorlaugh:

The DT keeps hammering on this idea that none of these detected elements are unique to human decomp (with a non-expert witness nonetheless). However, if I remember correctly, Dr. Vass stated clearly in his testimony that it wasn't specifically the presence of each of these elements individually that mattered, rather it was the combination of these specific elements that indicated human decomp.

Is that the new atty Barringer behind ICA?

Is this the last motion? What about the stain? Is the stain included in this?

I think we are still talking about the odor of decomp and the chemical analysis of those gasses and fatty acids.

From Twitter: Internet web cam in court has frozen. Now we can only hear dr Logan and see frozen image

HHBP making sure everyone can hear . . . . (yes!!!)
This is the first time I can hear JA when he stands to object. Thank You audio gods!

Logan saying fatty acids are in every biological thing - he sees hundreds of samples every year in the lab - does not necessarily indicate adoepre (oh dear - spelling!)
