Every time I read Voir Dire I hear it in a My Cousin Vinnie accent.

He is ready for them this morning. This judge is brilliant. Bringing the case law and his A++ game. Hes done with the media and the dt games. He is gonna seat this jury, he is gonna try this trial, and he is gonna make sure there are few to no apellate issues. Impressed doesnt even begin to describe what i feel for JBP.

is anyone having trouble watching this on cnn.com?? my connection keeps coming up with an "end of stream" message and it stops.
Usually Tulessa posts a link to the hearings that is better than any of the local stations or even cnn.com......

I had to switch to WFTV, I lost sound!

I couldn't get the sound to go loud enough on cnn so I switched to wftv and about blew my eardrums!

Disagree. Juries are selected every day to decide high profile cases and seem to do so conscientiously with the ability to disregard what they have heard, in order to judge the case on the facts presented.
Once the location is known it will be a free for all anyway, so whether they find out sooner or later doesn't make much difference. There are already plenty of mechanisms in place to protect jurors anonymity and security.
It's not medias' fault if the Sunshine laws allow for the scrutiny of all docs associated with this case.
Interesting that HHJP speaks so harshly of Legal Analysts for local TV but does not mention JB's circus appearances on every TV show that will pay him. If silence is what the Judge requires then he is the first one that needs silenced.
He and CM have done more than anyone to make inflammatory comments about this case, on TV and the web.

No, I think he wants to avoid having prospective jurors walking the gauntlet of media lines into the courthouse. They will not be able to park and walk into the courthouse without wading through media with microphones in their faces.

WFTV and WDBO willing to sign confidentiality agreement

**sound on cnn link just got much better for me**

  • #170
CNN sound is lousy . . . anybody got a better link?

The sound just got better - for no reason that I had to do with..:great:

Explain to me......

HOW IS THE PUBLIC SHUT OUT?

HHJP

  • #172
Well HHJP's mind is made up before she opened her mouth, but she is doggedly pursuing this request.

  • #173
JBP......wftv and wdbo agree to sign the confidentiality agreement.

  • #174
Good point, your honor. If some stations will sign, they will know. There will be there to report, so no loss of public right to know.

  • #175
Just confirmed again....hour to hour and a half to get to location.

  • #176
IMHO this is a D/T backdoor tactic, this smells like JB/CM all over it and JP knows this :waitasec:

Go back now - the sound has been fixed!

  • #178
HHJP says how is the public being shut out when after we are there for an hour the local media will know and the court will be open

  • #179
Anyone else think this is part of a DT plan to either delay OR try to get an intrusive Voir Dire questionaire approved????

I'm wondering why the usual lawyer for the media isn't arguing this motion?
I think you're right, SOS.

I gotta admire how stubborn she is - but she just doesn't recognize this is not going to go her way - no way - no how!

I have to wonder if it is a coincidence that she is out of Miami FL and just like Baez, doesn't know when to give up when it is obvious by HHJP's "skooling" that her ship is sunk..?
