A different Lens? Your thoughts?

If you're talking about the oregonlive article it says "Someone possibly moved the pickup", indicating it is speculative, IMO.
thanks for pointing that out Donjeta.

Also, if the truck was parked in two different spots someone moved it.... moo ((unless it is a remote control truck))

Perhaps LE is subtly suggesting that they placed too much focus on TMH in the beginning - tunnel vision - and, as more leads are investigated, they have reason to believe that Terri might not be the sole perpetrator in Kyron's disappearance. LE is no longer looking through a tunnel or with blinders on to keep them from seeing the wider view. jmo

I don't think they're focusing on anyone else. Today's presser was all about the Horman's white pick-up truck, and a flyer with pictures of that truck along with pictures of TH and DD. So the direction of LE remains the same. But, the comment about looking at this with a different lens, may pertain to looking at a different aspect of the case.

I believe DS has provided the new lens, though she may not have screwed it on tightly enough for a perfect pic. Also, with DS clearly involved, LE must rethink all the spottings of redheads. Do we know whether DS is naturally redheaded, or WHEN SHE MAY HAVE DYED HER HAIR to match TH??:waitasec:The more confounding details emerge, the more the CSI/Dexter factor comes into focus...IMOO

Well, apparently it's become fact that the truck was parked on the street, then moved to the access road while Terri was in the school.

Although LE never said such a thing in the PC.

(if anyone can find where they did, please give me the approx place where it was said, thanks)

Sorry, this may belong in a different thread but it just occurred to me: WHY would Terri park the truck so far from the school when she got there around 8 am with her TWO kids? If she parked the truck outside of the front fence in the shoulder, WHY???? It would have been already on the path of the gravel pathway in front of the playground so it would have been easy to move it I guess. How could she make her little one walk so far or take a stroller out of her truck right on the shoulder of the road?

LOL, I just got the image of a hidden Terri or Dede moving the truck with a big remote control like they're super spies or something. Funny, but dang, that would be way out there. I think that's too high tech even for them.

I don't know about a "different lens", but there are days I feel like I'm looking at this through a kaleidoscope.

My take is that it would be easier to leave and/or park. Pulling further up on that gravel road, it would be difficult to turn and maneuver the truck around. She is probably used to driving her smaller Mustang.

Also, she did compete in bodybuilding. She's probably still has very strong arms. She probably carried baby K as she was not feeling well.

Regarding the "different lens". The LEO was not talking about the entire investigation really. He was talking only and specifically about LE's request regarding the southside parking lot.

approx 14:04

Reporter: Can you tell us if these are staged photos or if (unintelligible)?

DA: No further comment. Thank you.

Reporter: And on this photo, are you asking for anyone who was parked in this, this parking lot to call about (a bit unintelligible - every make of their car?) that was parked there?

Gates: Yes, that's what he was asking.

Detective: What I want to identify is the parents, it's more likely going to be parents who were attending the science fair. Sometimes in an investigation you look through it with a different lens than you do the very first day that it occurs. When you go back and you rethink of all the events and the information you have, you see bits and pieces of the investigation that you need clarification on. This is simply one of these events that we're looking for clarification on. The parents, the guests, the staff only in the area that I have depict (sic) in the photograph. We'd like them to call the tip line.

Thanks for posting this BeanE. The different lens comment is just talking about details they didn't realize were relevant earlier in the investigation. Now that they know more there are things they wish they had asked in early interviews or on questionnaires. This is a way to ask for that info and I'm sure they are doing/have doen some follow-up interviews as well.

I'm really wondering if, at this point, they are as sure as they were that Terri was involved. I'm wondering if the different lens is, "Holy crap, she might be innocent. Who else could've done this?"

I don't think so as they are focusing on HER truck and 2 different places where it was parked. They are looking for the accomplice.

Or they have learned this from GJ testimony and need to verify the GJ testimony.

Or they have learned this from the bat phones or released emails from GJ testimony.

This would be why Dede's wanted picture with the truck.

Terri & Kyron could have picked Dede up at work (?) or Dede could have driven to meet them at school...

Dede stays in Terri's truck & waits for cue. Dede drives up path on cue.

Terri in school with Kyron.

Says goodbye to Kyron (tells Kyron to meet Dede out the gravel driveway door and they'll go somewhere cool). Terri leaves school building another way - chats on the way out - so as not to be seen leaving with Kyron and meets Dede & Kyron outside of school at some point? Either in Dede's car, or a third party car, or just hop in the White Truck with Dede & Kyron in it.

But, for the life of me, I don't know why they'd want to make it so complicated.

Good grief. :bedtime:

batphone text. Coast is clear.

Sometimes this case reminds me of those puddles of oil at the gas station. It's either poisonous glop or a pretty rainbow depending on the way the light shines on it!

There's a parking lane right there.

And you have to account for all the school staff being present prior to 8. And the chaperones.

That is one tiny lot. I can imagine it was a mess. Then you have bus traffic coming in around 8:30 or so.

If I'm going somewhere where the lots are full and there's a lot of cars that will be leaving at about the same time, I'll park closer to the exit (farther away) or on the street if possible, to make my getaway quicker and not get caught up in the jam of people all trying to leave at the same time.

BTW

I saw on a number of video reports that DeDe's car did NOT leave the property where she was working that day during the time she was unaccounted for. Which means that if she was with Terri, someone had to pick her up from that farm (and drop her off around 1 or whenever it was she was seen again).

Kaine said it was about a 5 minute drive to Skyline School. How far is it from the Horman's to where DeDe was working that day? And how far from there back to Skyline? What time did witnesses see Terri arrive with Kyron, and what time did DeDe arrive at her 'job'? Would there have been enough time for Terri to get to DeDe and back to Skyline by 8?

If DeDe wasn't at the job before 8 am, then that means there was another person involved... IF DeDe was with Terri.

I'm not convinced one way or the other about TH's involvement. I will say that if she had nothing to do with Kyron's disappearance, she has been irreparably harmed by LE's relentless and tunnel visioned focus on her. Her life is totally destroyed and Kyron is still missing.

I don't see that hse has done anything to try to mitigate the harm has she?

Another thing occurs to me regarding the truck. Did not a 7th grader state that he saw Kyron in the gym that day AND that he saw the truck in the parking lot? I thought the gym windows were high off the floor level..and the gym is not in the front of the school is it? So where exactly was this kid when he saw it and in what parking area?

These are questions that should have been answered by this time.

I am sure LE knows those answers. We , however, do not and have no need to know.

We may want to know, but who are we in the scope of things?

good point. So much easier to move that way, isn't it?

Yep. It didn't take me long to learn that you don't park close in at a big school function. If you ever want to get out of there, that is.

BeanE said:
I don't recall ever seeing any info on where Terri actually parked, or where Terri claimed to have parked, or where anyone else claimed Terri parked that day.

I don't understand what you are saying about not being given information regarding where she parked. They indicated the two photos of the truck parked on Skyline and on the "gravel path" with reference to "those locations". What am I missing?

I believe that BeanE meant that UNTIL YESTERDAY'S PRESSER we did not know where she was presumed to have parked. It never even occurred to me she might have parked along the shoulder of the road. I do not believe anyone ever SAID she had parked in the school parking lot, it just seemed the natural assumption (to me) that she had, and I have been operating under that assumption all along.

But we have this:

Authorities are seeking to identify the person, or persons, who may have been spotted by the truck as it was parked outside the school's front fence in the shoulder of Northwest Skyline Boulevard. Someone possibly moved the pickup and parked it up a gravel path in front of the school's playground while Terri Moulton Horman was inside the school with her stepson for his science fair.

http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2010/08/kyron_horman_case_investigator.html

I was listening to the PC while doing some other stuff but I swear I did NOT hear anything remotely like that; perhaps this was from the off-the-record session after the PC.

Or was it simply the reporter's own thoughts about why they were showing the truck in two different parking locations?

I REALLY want to know where that came from.

I still have a few pages on this thread before I am caught up - but just wondered if anyone contacted the source of this new article to ask for clarification. It was not in the presser.

Well this is just getting ridiculous. I swear it feels like we're back at square one. I defended LE early on in this case. I'm not so inclined any longer.

Nah...they know what they're doing...patience grasshopper, patience! ;)
