Rozzi gives Gull a transcript of the omitted call, references certain times in the transcript where Allen mentions the conditions at Westville and says he is innocent. Rozzi claims the overall calls are “one continues communication.” Rozzi gives Gull two more transcripts and says “you play them all or you play none.”

Gull admits the calls over the defense’s objection and says the defense can play the ommited call if they so choose and their argument would be more valid if the state was trying to admit incomplete phone calls.

Rozzi says the case law doesn’t agree with what Gull is saying. Defense attorney Andrew Baldwin argues that in the calls the state want to present, the calls they want to omit are referenced, and that would be confusing to the jury.

No but anyone who is a defense attorney who is opining on the trial is probably aware of potential weaknesses that could lead to appeals.
That's completely different, imo. It's not unusual for a defendant to try for an appeal. There can be worthy issues and errors to examine and the appeals process handles that without riling up people to believe the process is unfair.

My hunch is youtubers are building their channels by creating more controversary than actually exists.

Nothing particularly wrong with that, but I see them gathering a following who take their streams as gospel. But, I realize this will be an unpopular stance because some of them are likeable and knowledgeable.

Prosecutor Nick McLeland tells the judge they are planning to admit 7 Department of Corrections phone calls to Allen’s wife and mother. The defense objects because they say the prosecution is not offering one of the phone calls in the time where Allen said he is innocent and describes being mentally tortured and “killed” at the Westfield Correctional Unit.
Defense really REALLY REALLY does not want RA’s phone calls played in court.

Defense attorney Jennifer Auger references another exhibit, which is Allen’s Google search history. Gull says that will be handled later, again, after lunch.

The jury enters the courtroom at 9:28 a.m.

Gull says the jury again had supervised contact with their phones.

At 9:30 a.m. the state called Indiana State Police Master Trooper Brian Harshman. Harshman tells the jury he has been with the ISP for 30 years.

I've actually been disappointed by the youtubers I thought were the "good ones." Is the ACLU or other such organizations concerned about Allen's trial? Serious question that just occurred to me. IDK.

I recommend Lawyer Lee and Lawyer You Know. I think they both have very balanced reporting on this case.

The old poker adage is “strength means weakness, and weakness means strength.”

On its surface, that move wreaks weakness. It was a showy display designed to imply to the jury that the defense was holding a huge hand.

No reason to advertise it that early.
Just like their showy display of the "hair" in Abbys hand....

Hope the jurors will be able to tolerate the google searches on a full stomach.

How to say we live in the 2020s without stating the date.

RA was afforded his Constitutional 6th Amendment right to counsel (PD) to provide a competent and vigorous defense. It doesn't state he is afforded a PD of his choosing, although his preferred DT were reinstated by the SCOIN.

RA has been afforded a trial by a jury of his peers who will decide whether or not the evidence presented by the State and The Defense will find him guilty or innocent to the tune of $4M+ dollars.

It doesn't get much more Due 'Processy' than that.

I am more concerned about the Constitutional 14th Amendment rights of Abigail Williams and Liberty German the VICTIMS. Their right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness was irrevocably and brutally stripped away from them by Defendant Allen in one of the most gruesome and callous ways I've seen.

I hope Defendant Allen is found guilty by this jury of his peers and lives a miserable existence in a prison cell for the rest of his days.

He gave up his 14th Amendment rights when he murdered 2 innocent young girls for his perverted satisfaction, and I have no qualms about Justice being meted out to him according to our Judicial Standards. None.

As always, JMO
When accused of a crime is exactly when constitutional protections should be strongest. One never forfeits a right to a fair trial and procedural and substantive due process. Thank goodness we no longer have Witch Trials.

Here we go:

At 9:30 a.m. the state called Indiana State Police Master Trooper Brian Harshman. Harshman tells the jury he has been with the ISP for 30 years. He says he became involved in the Delphi investigation in April 2020.

Harshman tells the jury he became “the phone guy,” meaning he monitored Allen’s communication from inside custody to the outside world. He says he monitored calls, video chats, and texts. He says he has listened and relistened to 700 hours of Allen’s calls.

Harshman tells the jury that Allen either calls his wife or his mother. Harshman says that yes, Allen makes incriminating statements. The prosecution references a call on Nov. 11, 2022 that Allen made to his wife Kathy.

Interesting it's never his daughter.

In my amateur opinion he’d been fantasizing about sa with young girl(s) for a very long time and that day decided to act on it. Who knows what he's done in the past and just was never caught? moo
This! Yes this!

Information is coming out from the courtroom in drips and drabs….
But at least we are getting something….

I just read the days updates then listen to the defense diaries and the murder sheet I feel like that gives me a fair share of defense biases and prosecution biases and I try to form an opinion on the day in the middle

Personally, I don't think that - de facto - lawyers are balanced reporters. Because of their job and training. Balanced reporters are generally... reporters. Because they generally don't have personal biases. (As in if there was an argument of tech against no-tech, me, who was in tech for decades, would find myself siding with the tech side, even unintentionally if I tried to report on said argument.)
