Not one of the eyewitnesses gave a description that resembles RA and many of the IDs contradict each other wildly.
As far as prosecution strategy I am surprised that all was early out of the gate while the jurors were fresh and the trial new. I do not think the various descriptions none that used the word short and the explanation about the alterations to the image and video were not shining moments. It’s a strategy decision but I have to wonder.

So far on the reporting, it seems like RA's search history is a bit of a dud:

"Months before an interview with police on Oct. 13, 2022 that led to Richard Allen's arrest later that month, Allen was searching online for disturbing movies to watch and frequently looked up the Delphi murders, according to a later analysis of his search history by the Indiana State Police.

On May 24, 2022, Allen did a Google search for "deeply disturbing and terrifying movies on Netflix." That same day, he searched "Texas elementary school shooting suspect." The next month, he searched for the "most f----- up thing to watch on Netflix right now.""

Edited to put in correct link

I can't make sense of not presenting the geofence data, which resulted in the FBI contacting witnesses in the months following the murders.

His phone not being on there is strong evidence that Allen was not on his phone as he claimed (checking stock quotes). It's just really strange not to delve into that.

Not if they are trying to present themselves as 'crazy'. That would be an ideal way to suggest it. Funny is the timing of all these mental breakdowns, psychotic episodes and confessions.

They only happened after Defendant Allen was served with the State's Discovery, which was dropped off by an assistant and not even given to him in person by his own Defense Team. What the what????

JMO
I can't imagine reading about what happened to these kids and realizing that anyone thought I might be the person responsible for it! I'd probably have mental health issues too knowing that, and living in the conditions that he was etc... I can see how happened. Mooo.

These ones are a bit more interesting:

On Oct. 2, 2022, weeks before his arrest, Allen clicked a link for "65+ best kidnapping and hostages movies ever made," according to the ISP analysis conducted in December 2022. That same day, Allen also entered the following searches: "movie about a man being held against his will," "man held hostage by teen" and "Stalker 2012," an apparent reference to a film about a mentally unstable homeless man who tries to save his friends from drug dealers.

On Oct. 5, 2022, Allen searched "Delphi murders." He had searched "Delphi murders update" five times in the first week of August 2022.

He’s not alone being held pre-trial, but he is alone in being held in a prison pre-trial.

Richard Allen is a special case. Accused of a heinous kidnapping and double murder that destroyed a small town’s innocence a crime which news of was nation wide.

Richard Allen is notorious. There isn’t another case in Indiana I could say the name of the suspect from my far away location.

I invite Mr Allen to come on down to the Deep South and see how he likes the conditions. He’s in the Hilton with concierge compared to Mississippi.

All imo

Depends on the facility how incarcerated communications are handled- tablets are often standard issue vs kiosks and phones for communications- JPay tablets are very common

There are a few different main vendors and it can be very very expensive- in my experience-

All inmates don't have tablets at the facility Allen was kept at. Approx 100 still waiting to get them.

Allen was issued his immediately upon arrival and when he broke his by tossing it against the wall, he was not required to pay the normal reimbursement cost ($250.00) for breaking the phone and was given another ... ahead of those on the waitlist. Because he was a "safekeeper".

Pg, 47 _Testimony of Warden John Galipeau Given at Hearing on Motion to Suppress Held July 31, 2024.pdf

Allen refused a TV for his cell.

Yes, but I wouldn’t expect them in “solitary confinement.”
I wouldn't expect an "alleged" perp to be placed in prison, (and even worse in solitary confinement) either. JMO.

It's Indiana, that's all I can say. I've kept my expectations a little moderate to low WRT the investigation and now the trial. I'm hoping for the best.

Why all the special treatment and privileges? I suspect they didn't want any complaints that could cause problems at trial.

Well folks that’s it. It’s a bit of an odd feeling. I know I came into this on pins and needles excited to see what the P had up their sleeve. “Oh man all these years we get to see dna, prints, Allen’s slime all over the scene, witnesses” I thought.

We saw nothing we didn’t already know including Allen. Every day the only revelation was how shoddy and forced this case is. And we are here, defense up to bat.

The only question now is how hard is defense going to drill. They probably could just refine some points and rest but they will certainly use their full time allotment to secure appeals and cover bases.

The next couple weeks are going to be dreadful if you’re not objective.

Hang on tight!

I’m just catching up. Did the prosecution rest?

It does tell us a bit about him. Lots of people have an interest in movies like that, but I'd definitely expect that from a guy who would commit a crime like this.

Also: On Oct. 5, 2022, Allen searched "Delphi murders." He had searched "Delphi murders update" five times in the first week of August 2022.

Not surprised at all to see those searches about the case. I imagine he searched at a much higher frequency early on, but it tapered off until there were updates in the media (nothing like that going on during that time period).

No. I’ve already answered this.
Sorry I must have missed that. I just got settled in at the ranch cabin and haven't had time to get caught up.

If these lawyers don't think the Odinist theory is possible how can they support it being presented to the jury. It seems like this theory is being presented by the defense to confuse the jury and not give them factual evidence. JMO.

I'm a goner if they would ever look at my search history. I would venture to guess most on here might be if truth be told. ;) All MOO

August 2022 was when they were searching the Wabash River:

Knowing that he was drinking that day and an alcoholic, I wonder how much of him had that "fog" hanging over him, constantly wondering everything he did that day. The important details would be remembered. But if I was in his spot, I'd be panicked about why they were checking the river and what I may have done, not 100% remembering everything. Pretty sure I didn't anything with the river...but why are they looking in it?

All my speculation based on my own experience trying to recall everything I'd done "the night before".
