The passage of time evolved from the event and finally getting a suspect in custody is a big factor in why this may fall flat for the prosecution. And I can't help but keep coming back to the Dan Dulin episode.
I'll move away from speculating on whether or not he was qualified enough to be questioning a main suspect in the back of a car park and his poor line of questioning and lack of recording.
What I find really strange is that he'd spoken to Allen in the days after the murders. He filed his report and moved on. But the case never went away. And in Delphi in particular it was part of everyday life with images and videos of Bridge guy all over the place for days /weeks/ years. It's not something he could ever really move on from
Did he never think " The guy in the video looks and sounds like the fella I interviewed in the car park."? Prompting him to chase up his initial report?
Obviously proving Allen is Bridge guy may not prove BARD to the jury that he had his hand on the knife but if LE had got to him earlier it would've made a world of difference imho.
