I don’t know everything the prosecutor is going to say today in their closing but I know the last thing I would say to the jury. Libby gave us the killer on video. She gave us his voice. She gave us the date, location & time. Libby did her part now it’s time for you to do yours.

If he is BG, we know BG was seen muddy. He would have had to launder those other layers of clothing he was wearing anyways.

If he washed his clothes right away when he returned home blood would not stain them.
I think he took at least the jacket off before he was "interrupted." Did he put it back on to cross the creek? Or carry it while he pointed a gun? Who knows.

If they believe that bullet evidence it’s game over on that alone.

The question is how much weight they give it.

Well if the jurors questions to Warren are any indication, they seemed to believe Oberg's findings.

Prosecution are stating they questioned KA. But I thought she was bought on just to sit beside Allen for support?
I really wouldn't call that questioning? They never asked her separately to account for her and his whereabouts before and after the event as far as I'm aware?

RA did tell her if she asked for a lawyer they would have to let her go.

And he also told them KA had nothing to do with it at one point after he was incarcerated.

McLeland says “if we can determine who Bridge Guy is, we can determine who killed Abby Williams and Liberty German.

If I were a prosecutor I don't know whether I would have said this statement. Why would they not say that they believe Bridge Guy is Richard Allen...and stop talking? Or better yet If YOU can determine that Bridge Guy is RA then you will know who killed etc. etc. Or moreso why use the word "if"? Puzzles me.
He has said that many times---they know he believes RA is bridge guy. He is wording it like that as he walks them through how he determined RA = BG. " If we can determine X then Y. " Then you go on and show how you determined X and y.

I think they may be talking about the police interviews much earlier?

We never got details, but we know they did speak to her as they told Allen about what she said (told her not to participate in search, and she said his mental health had declined following the murders).

McLeland on fire. Justice for Libby and Abby! Today is the day!

He talks about another confession that Allen made in January 2024 after he had been moved out of the Westfield Correctional Unit.

McLeland describes Brian Harshman, the officer who read Wala’s reports and listened to Allen’s phone calls. He describes Harshman discovering the detail about the white van Allen said he saw while committing the crimes. He says Harshman verified the owner of that van in 2017.

He tells the jury that the owner of that van, Brad Weber did drive it that day. He points to Allen and says “something only the killer would know.” Allen raises his eyebrows.

McLeland says Harshman knew it was the same voice as Bridge Guy in all the calls he’s listened to from Allen.

McLeland shows the jury all the charges, which include charges for felony murder for killing Libby and Abby

He tells the jury, “now the pieces come together.”

McLeland says Bridge Guy “stole the youth and life” from Libby and Abby. he shows the Snapchat photo from Kelsi German’s car again. He says something in Libby caused her to begin recording on her phone. He tells the jury that there was a pause in the health data on Libby’s phone before Allen killed the girls.

He says “grabbing for her throat, struggling to stay alive, she begins to cry.”

He says Allen lived in the community for five years but didn’t know he left a cartridge at the scene.

McLeland reviews three points:

  1. Bridge Guy
  2. Bullet
  3. Confessions
“I believe the evidence is firmly convincing that Richard Allen is Bridge Guy and he killed Abby and Libby, McLeland told the jury.

After 58 minutes, McLeland is finished at 10:23 a.m.

The time when RA and KA went to the station to get their vehicle, I think LE separated them and did indeed question KA. That's when she found out RA was indeed on the bridge that day.

That's my interpretation anyway - please correct that if I'm wrong.

I agree. Those girls' were intelligent. I think they would use proper English.
She could also have said “could that be a gun” and we are only able to hear from the word “that”

SBM

It is certainly true that the video is not very sharp and clear, but IMO it is infinitely helpful.

It rules IN a man whom I believe strongly resembles RA. It very helpfully rules OUT what otherwise would be complete guesswork——it clearly depicts BG enough to know that it is a male, not a person of color, not a group of men together, not wearing clothing unlike what RA said he wore.

It also affords us audio. We hear his voice, and LE and court have heard snippets of the girls speaking, as well. This helps in identification and in determining how near BG was to the girls, and where he commanded them to go.

IMO then the video is a treasure and I applaud Libby’s wherewithal to record him as best she could.
Boils down to probability for me.
Of the 6 items of clothing Allen listed that he was likely wearing:
Hat
Blue Jacket
Black jacket
Blue jeans
White sneakers
Military type shoes.

Bridge guy was wearing 4 of them.
What are the odds that on an unusually nice sunny day that there would be two different men in very close proximity, travelling the same route at the same or very close time, wearing the same clothes?

That’s what I seem to recall. I believe RA was speaking with Holeman? I could be mistaken.

He said no one out on the trail that day matched the description of “Bridge Guy” except for Allen. He estimated Allen had about seven minutes with the girls before Weber drove down the access road and spooked him.

He told the court Allen slashed Libby’s throat first and then killed Abby.

“If that’s not enough to convince you, we have his confessions,” McLeland said.

Liggett and Mullin told RA on October 13, 2022, after they showed him his car on the Hoosier Harvest Store's camera, we have talked to your wife and daughter.

KA was crying in the courtroom when it was played.

@Davemac1 I believe that in the interview RA stated he was wearing black boots.
