What are the odds that on an unusually nice sunny day that there would be two different men in very close proximity, travelling the same route at the same or vey close to time, wearing the same clothes?
And driving a similar car and with a similar voice to RA/BG and also owns an Sig Sauer.

He said no one out on the trail that day matched the description of “Bridge Guy” except for Allen. He estimated Allen had about seven minutes with the girls before Weber drove down the access road and spooked him.

He told the court Allen slashed Libby’s throat first and then killed Abby.

“If that’s not enough to convince you, we have his confessions,” McLeland said.

Libby first? I wonder how they know she was first?

I was thinking Abby was first and that is part of the reason Libby fought so hard - she knew what was coming.

Incredibly sad, either way, of course.

We're hours or (likely) days away from the jury handing down their decision here. I'd much rather be the prosecution than the defense, but the division in this case tells me that anything is possible. I'm absolutely convinced of his guilt, but if the jury is not, a spectacularly dangerous man could go free. There would be no celebrating our "system working" if that's the case.

I'm not worried about him doing this again (killing kids), but I am worried that he's the type to carry out the threats he's allegedly made in that local jail. He's an angry man who could be out for revenge.
I think the division in this is fueled by the defense and what they released before this trial started. I hope that the jurors really had no exposure to any of that. So many seem to want to believe that something else happened here and even when faced with certain facts, there is a need to entertain the really really unlikely possibilities (like the headphones being plugged in, the girls being taken somewhere else and brought back, the huge conspiracy that would have to include well you know everyone.. etc). If something has a .05% chance of being what happened, it's as if people hold to that vs believing that this man just did this and hid in plain sight. THAT is way more likely to be what is true.

I don't think the jury is going to be nearly as divided as what we see here and out in the YouTube, podcasting, social media world. Actually, we aren't even that divided here based on the daily poll. It just seems that way because the few that are on the opposite side are quite vocal and I feel like many that believe the state (again based on that poll) just keep quiet and read.

I hope they have a verdict tonight or at the latest in the morning.

IMO

Just tuning in on this case again, I have a a question I wonder if a kind would care to answer:
- If the suspect brought and used a gun (bullet found), why kill the girls with a different weapon (knife)? A perpetrator usually have a preference of weapon, and a Gun or a Knife are vastly different in its proximity to a victim and MO. If the accused R.A was "spooked" the most rational thing would be to end their lives with the weapon he already had in hand to coerce them (since it had worked prior), "not to challenge the situation" and switch to something that takes 1). more time 2). more mess 3). harder to control the other person waiting to be attacked.

And then, having time to discard of clothing and redressing one of victim. It is not consistent with a person that is "spooked", not having the time to SA, but time to murder . yet staying a prolonged time at the scene?

Prosecution are stating they questioned KA. But I thought she was bought on just to sit beside Allen for support?
I really wouldn't call that questioning? They never asked her separately to account for her and his whereabouts before and after the event as far as I'm aware?
We don't know that for sure.

I would imagine they questioned her, their daughter, mother.

They just chose not to bring it up during trial just as they did not bring up the Blue coat, Until closing today, that is.

They don't have to bring everything out, they would only want to bring to trial evidence to show BARD of the accused.

They questioned her at the station while RA was being questioned back in 2022.

It’s a walking trail with people nearby - he has to escape without drawing attention, which a gunshot would probably do.

My understanding was they questioned KA in a different room at the same time they questioned RA in 2022.
I think that’s where she first heard about him admitting to being on the bridge which caused her to ask him about that when she was able to talk to him.

Because that original video footage is really poor - low resolution.

Hard to say who the man is really.
The man is Richard Allen.

I actually found that easy to say ;)

The gun is for a threat. He really doesn’t want to draw a crowd by actually firing that .40. It’s loud.

He has the girls move to a less visible location across the creek and kills them quietly. Now he has quiet, obscurity, and time. He takes some time before heading back to his car and being seen muddy and bloody.

A gun would draw attention quickly if it was fired.

A gun is intimidating when you are abducting 2 victims because you don't have to be close to be a threat with a gun. You can get people to comply with a gun. If he pulled a knife or box cutter, they could both run and outrun him and he knew that. A gun is an unpredictible variable. Will he shoot? Does a teenage girl really want to take that risk?

It worked they went.

He sees a car drive by and now realizes someone is heading home to the house right there.. so he moves them across the water IMO to prevent them from running. How he knows that someone is over there and if they break free they could get that person to help quickly and he could risk being caught.

Looking at videos of that terrain and across the water provides a much better place to hide them that's for sure.

I don't believe HE redressed Abby, I think she redressed herself. Being spooked across the water doesn't mean he suddenly needed to hurry and finish. It could mean he no longer had the urge do do what he was planning.. since he was interrupted. His plan was interrupted.. for these killers sometimes the fantasy is big, then the reality doesn't live up.. well being interrupted likely ruined it for him. Now he knows they saw him, he didn't plan out this.. so he kills them.

RA confessed to doing it in that order.

BTW, All of RA’s confessions are detailed elsewhere in these threads and in numerous podcasts and YouTubes (the murder sheet, etc).

I agree...It sounds silly but I would say a gunshot would be identified and recognized pretty quickly.

It's a farming area and routinely people are in trouble around these rural farm areas for game and mushroom hunting on private property.

I didn't realize that. I gave up on youtubers.

Thanks for the info.

I personally believe that the clothing "discarded" in the creek was actually dropped in the rush to get across, and that Abby was able/allowed to quickly put on some pants before crossing the creek.

It is horrible to imagine but that is a plausible theory that he did slash Libby first. Hence the blood found on Abby's shoe. RA slashed Libby once or twice. He then went to Abby, straddled her by pinning her arms to her chest in a boxing position, which is why she didn't have blood on her hands or sleeves. Libby in the mean time has made it to the tree. RA gets off of Abby and comes after Libby slashing her again.

I think it all happened very quickly.
