Actually, powdered mushrooms specifically are known to impart the best Umami flavour.
Erin missed an opportunity to explain why she'd powdered the mushrooms, rather than lying and saying they were left 'chopped'.

I noticed this too. She's sounding increasingly biased when I feel like it should be more neutral.
There's a Tik Tok creator covering the case who comes across as sympathetic to Erin Patterson...

I don't think she knows how poorly she's performing.

Erin clearly forgot she admitted to the mushrooms being involved. She admitted she didn’t mention them because she was afraid, but now every prosecution witness is lying. She has never accepted responsibility or said she wished she were more truthful with the doctors….one she apparently has forgotten speaking with. Her attorney must be banging his head on the table. I believe Erin has used lies her entire life. IMO

The point that I'm making is that there are 2 sides to this complicated woman.
Good movie title, "The Two Faces of Erin."

Given the family is deeply religious, Don&Gail missionaries, Ian the Pastor, certain she would have needed baptism, confirmation, etc to marry Simon.
My mother had to get christened at age 21 to marry my father in the Catholic church. 😐

Did the prosecution have an expert witness saying how long death cap mushrooms take to go through the body? Would’ve thought even if you did throw it up the toxins would still be there?
On a thread from yesterday, I believe, when we were hearing about bulimia, it was posted that a doctor testified you cannot recover once the toxins are in your body without the antidote. Throwing up won’t help.

She would have lied as a child as well.

So just to clarify this was the leftover of the BW? or something else?
Yes, the leftover BW samples from her bin only had visual evidence of the Woolworths mushrooms.
Further forensic testing identified beta-amanitin toxins from death cap mushrooms in these same samples.

Do you think it is that common in Australia in country life? I grew up in Gippsland (not far from Leongatha) and the elsewhere in regional Victoria, on farms. We never foraged and I never had friends speak about foraging. Now I am questioning if I lived in some kind of bubble 🤣
It was in my region in NSW but it wasn’t called foraging, just mushrooming in Autumn. We also drove to areas where there were blackberries, we collected pippies, went prawning and fishing, all normal for my family but no-one does it now. Iam a city girl now with great memories.

So I've just finished the ABC podcast and the thing that stood out the most to the female broadcaster (Rachael) this week was whenever Erin spoke about belonging and how kind her in-laws had been to her...

How to say you want her to get off without actually saying it.

Tbf they did acknowledge today that she had disagreed with quite a large number of people now.
That podcast has gone quickly downhill after Kristian Silva left…

That’s true. Our dogs are fed before us. If there’s anything safe, it may top the meal the next day but I was always advised not to give them mushrooms or tomatoes so it’s the bin for our leftovers
Yes, and many people avoid feeding dogs onions and garlic, I believe Erin’s BW had shallots and garlic.

I gave up picking mushrooms when I wondered whether mushrooms growing on a front lawn may have been "watered" by stray dogs.
Or in a paddock with a big cow pat not far away.

I mean, the native Australian Drop Bear has been known to forage bins that are left out under trees...
Remember that American reporter in Kangaroo Island?:D

I just read through most of the recaps of Erin giving her testimony in one sitting.

I guess I could sum it up like this: Everyone else who has given evidence on this trial, is a liar. Only thing Erin agrees with is that she is also a liar (but she was scared). But now she is telling the trueth and all of them others are liars.

Oookey then. Can't imagine being the defense team and chewing my nails off while the prosecutions cross.
