The CCTV clip has the time in the corner of the recording, I did actually count it to be around 9 seconds but it does include her entering and leaving.
If you knew the lay out of the bathroom you could potentially open the main door, walk down the corridor, open the toilet door and throw something away - down the toilet? In the sanitary bin? - and go back out again in 9 seconds. Most of the service stations only have one stall in their toilets.

Nothing. There wasn't time to do anything other than open the door, look for the second door, turn around and leave. She couldn't even have broken her stride. The time from when the first door closed behind her until she reappears is just three seconds. You can watch the time in the video.
It'd be enough time to toss a zip-lock baggie of the powdered Death Caps into a trash can in the bathroom.

CCTV. Others have mentioned it here so I checked.
There's an image from a high angle of her hand on the wheel. Will find for you.
Sorry havent found. I thought I saw it here on this thread or #17 in the last few hours. Can anyone else help?

What about the nappy* bin in the parents/wheelchair bathroom?

Erin was angry because her husband filed taxes as a separated spouse. Consequently, Erin no longer qualified for "married" tax deductions. She then started harassing her husband's family to coerce him into re-filing and falsely claiming that they were still married and living together. When they told her they were staying out of it, she decided to kill them.

After she swore at them on facebook, and after they knew that she may have poisoned her husband, they accepted an invitation to have lunch with her. They must have thought that, through kindness, she would stop being so angry.

The investigation was started only because her father-in-law brought some of his vomit to hospital and stated that he was probably poisoned.

"In late 2022, Simon told his GP, Dr Chris Ford (‘an old mate from church’) that he feared his wife had been trying to poison him. He also resolved to avoid unnecessary contact with her.

He then listed himself as single on his tax return. This move had significant implications for Erin’s financial affairs, since it stopped her claiming various tax breaks available to married people.

She responded by filing for child support, and the couple began arguing over money and who would pay their children’s school fees and medical bills. Efforts by Erin to persuade Simon's parents Don and Gail to intervene in this falling-out met with no success, and she subsequently fired off a series of hostile messages in a Facebook forum, berating his extended family, saying (among other things) that she was ‘sick of this 🤬🤬🤬🤬’ and ‘🤬🤬🤬* em!

In the spring of 2023, Simon began telling family members about his belief that Erin was trying to poison him. He confided initially in his 70-year-old father. But Don asked him not to share the concerns too widely because ‘he felt it could create issues in the way people related with Erin and our family’.
[...]

When all four guests then fell sick, the family immediately suspected foul play.
Indeed, Don was so convinced that Erin had sabotaged the lunch, he turned up at hospital carrying a container filled with his own vomit, saying it ought to be handed to police ‘because he presumed this could be significant evidence because he thought it could be a deliberate poisoning’.

That, we can now reveal, was the context in which the homicide squad first began investigating Erin Patterson."

just a note that I doubt the victims had FB or saw her nasty comments - it's my understanding that those comments were made to her FB friends

1. Too much effort
2. Couldn't risk getting those white pants dirty
Who do you think she is- Barry Morphew? Sorry, I couldn't resist!

That was my immediate thought, but then I recalled there is a bin either side of the entry into the service station.

She would have been looking to dispose of something out of sight of CCTV or witnesses though. IMO

I would love to see a psychologist's report on Erin. I think it would be VERY interesting

How can you see that she was wearing white gloves?

Found it - but apologies, on proper careful inspection, the "white gloved hand" (AgathaC anyone?) is only a reflection probably from the car's plastic interior.

Yes. Would be very interesting indeed. What, if anything, in her past led her to where she is now. And why? Or is it simply a personality type and there was no specific incident that shaped the outcome?

Also I would be quite interested re those types of persons who continually defend the indefensible, and causes behind that. Is that from a past instance of perceiving themselves as a lone defender - and being proved right - then becoming obsessed with repeating that feeling at any cost? Or is it just a personality type also, and no specific incident in the history...? Either way, humans are truly fascinating stuff!

IMO she'd tell the psychologist that their diagnosis is wrong.

Speculation.

I think it was about control. We saw the photos of the death caps in the dehydrator and we also saw her response to Simon's text saying he felt too uncomfortable to go to the lunch. Even the murder method of poisoning itself, five individual Beef Wellingtons with the death cap mushrooms inside. This seems to be a woman who relishes having power and control over others. She was wounded by Simon listing himself as separated on his tax returns, perhaps she felt that he was gaining more power by distancing himself from her. The alleged poisoning attempts could have also been a way for her to have power over him. I think her motive overall were as I previously mentioned, but also to emotionally destroy SP as revenge for his and his family's perceived slights against her. She's a very dangerous type of person IMO

I'm still curious how it appears EP's bag seemed to have been lighter; if she hadn't disposed of anything and had never gone to the bathroom in the first place and instead was in the hallway area, what actually happened? I don't think we'll get an answer to that question.

it looked the same to me

I was wondering if perhaps Erin didn’t have a local Council bin service seeing as she lived a little way out of the centre of town, but this pic shows that she did have bin service, only the actual garbage bin is seen here, but she would also have a green waste bin and a recycling bin issued to her house. The 3 bins come as a package for local residents, the fee of which is included in the residents annual rates.

If you live outside the city limits, you aren’t issued with any bins, as it is too difficult for the garbage truck to access your property, so instead you then have a discount on your annual rates, to cover the cost of you having to pay to dispose of your waste at the local tip.

Some hints for Simon…. If he does read the posts here…..

Erin Patterson: What Simon Patterson needs to do if he wants to divorce his mushroom murderer wife in jail

“If Mr Patterson applies for the divorce on his own, he must arrange to have the divorce application “served” to the mass murderer.

In this case there are special requirements as Patterson is in prison.

Mr Patterson must serve the document on the person in charge of the prison by post.

The document must be sent in a stamped self-addressed envelope with a cover letter that requests the person in charge to sign the acknowledgement of service.

Mr Patterson would also need to complete an affidavit certifying his compliance with the special service rules that are in place for divorcing when one party is in jail.”

I'm glad that EP has a friend.

No matter what I don't like to think of anyone as being totally alone in the world.

For what it is worth, I think Erin did what she did because she could & was so arrogant that she thought that she would get away with it & nobody would dare question her.

I can't stand her.

I still can't understand why the tip trip from the day of the meal was ruled inadmissible 🤔

I mean it's obviously her, and it's time and date stamped, so it can't have been in dispute that she went there on that day at that time. If nothing else, it proves she was lying about Lego and cake binges.

I realise that in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter because she was found guilty regardless, but I'm so confused about how it's decided what evidence is/isn't admissible.

If she'd been found not guilty but then all this stuff about Simon's previous illness and the tip trip came out... Or is it only able to come out because she's been found guilty? And if she had been found not guilty it wouldn't have been permitted to be published?
