Dear packets,
I'm tempted to ask 'what flavour?', but I won't 'cause I suspect the answer will be 🍄, sigh, moving right along - your project has a (spiritual) sister in America who also has a 'deep' relationship with 'intentional/intentionally' - LOL!
& not surprisingly - she also talked herself into a GUILTY (life sentence), bloody marvellous!

Edit - verdict
You mean Sarah Boone, I presume? :D

Her strategy seems to be multiple disposal sites. Each one seemingly inconspicuous but the timing is everything but.

External hard drive, that's compelling.

Something in an actual poo poo bag. The remaining toxin? Sort of double bagged. To go out of this world in the same way as soiled feminine products, slated to decompose a hundred years from now.

One thing EP forgot to do, to further her narrative that she added DC mushrooms unaware (when confronted at the hospital), was to voice worry that she could have poisoned herself in the mere "accidental" handling off them or that any leftover DCs or residual toxin at her home could "accidentally" poison her children or dog still.
Did she use up all the dehydrated DCs in the BWs? Or did she have more, which she needed to rid herself of?

Would she dispose of hard drive in a way that someone could find her information on it? Wouldn't she destroy it to prevent everything that? Pulverize it? Immerse it? Not very flushable, I wouldn't think.

Too, too bad it was too late to recover it.

Good catch, everyone.

JMO

There are external hard drives that are password-protected. Maybe that's what she has.

The reason why those charges are less provable are two-fold: she kept switching poisons each time- it's been hypothesized that she tried Nightshade, rat poison, and one other poison that I can't think of at the moment, and 2) it's been too long to test Simon for those poisons or the food. So we'll never really know exactly what she did to him unless she confesses to it.

Of course this is true. It was also likely problematic when it came to trying this aspect of the case.

Too much had been lost and not picked up on. Without the thought of poison who knows what tests and observations were missed at the time.

Circumstantially, Simon's poisoning is extremely likely IMO. Not only is it extremely coincidental that EP was a suspected poisoner prior to apparently accidentally poisoning a load of people except herself, but there were elements such as the timing of her DC searches that were very damning.

However, when I saw the pre-trial stuff and what was kept out of the trial I could see why it wasn't included. I suspect Colin Mandy would have been able to pick holes and suggest it was simply all a narrative he was inventing to make EP look bad.

The DC toxins can leave the body within 48 hours, but the poignant point about the testing other than the timing, is that Gail and Heather had elevated liver enzymes and damaged livers. Erin had nothing like it.

There’s not just one test to determine poisoning. It’s a combination of all testing and presentation IMO

I wasn't denying the fact that they'd been poisoned by DC. I was referring to the fact that a DC-specific test (amanita?) only showed up in Don I think due to the amounts they're dealing with.

I'm far from a scientist and was using it to ask the question about the remains in the bin, and whether that test could also not demonstrate DC 100% of the time and be dependent on timing etc.

Will EP get to present her own victim statement, perennial victim she believes herself to be?

Honest question. I assume she'll get to address the court at sentencing? I wonder how many days that'll take.

my head already hurts.

Jmo
Surely not. I don't think there's any automatic right to do so, is there? It would be at the judge's discretion - if, say, she wanted to express remorse.

Just to clarify, I didn't doubt you - I was on my phone and can't see things without reading glasses on - but I've just put it on my computer and it is very clear she is carrying something black and rectangular looking. It is also not in her hand when she exits the toilet door, like you said - her keys are in that hand.

Also perhaps it’s a a small soft covered notebook she wrote some incriminating stuff in?

I'm not going to be able to rest until I know what it is now! 😂

What it can't be, IMO:

1. USB stick (it's too large)
2. Sunglasses (too symmetrical / rectangular)
3. Doggy do-do bag (not even close)
4. Purse (no, too small/hard edges)
5. Phone (Looks too small to be a phone)

Could it be an external hard drive like this?

Could it be a coin purse? A tiny one that that could easily fit in her hand. Inside she could have put a USB drive / SIM card / leftover fungi powder. Anything really.

In the US, iiuc, they get to make a statement. Unvetted.

Done express remorse, done double down on their "innocence", still others victim blame.

If it's the same in Australia, I hope EP chooses instead to eat her tongue than flap it.

EP's stateside spiritual twin, Sarah Boone, gave an entire lecture abusing her deceased victim and all his family plus everyone under the sun 'forgiving' them for they know not what they do type of stuff and even turned on the judge IIRC. It defies belief that someone who has caused such harm and sorrow to the family and children of the man she murdered was facilitated to rant at such length and make all manner of allegations against the deceased and the grieving family in a court room. STOP THE PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE NONSENSE and STICK TO DISCUSSING THE FACTS OF THIS CASE.

This thread is not intended to argue diagnoses that have never formally been made. It's also not necessary or particularly constructive for members to respond to every post, especially when that response serves no other purpose than to disrupt the conversation.

If this message confuses you, it's probably because you've been posting accordingly, and we appreciate that!

It's definitely rectangular.

It could be a credit card case. Maybe an RFID one like this. I think someone else mentioned it earlier. new-rebels-credit-card-case-helsinki-rfid-card-pro.webp

Too soon to be Phone A (wiped, reset, no sim), no case?

What's that leave? External hard drive? (Credit to posters upthread)

Her cream pants made it out just fine, but that rectangle apparently did not.

Must have been very important/incriminating.

No footage from checkout? The place where they certainly must have had cameras...

If there is, it might clear this up, once and for all.

Erin clearly has a black rectangular? object and the keys back in her left hand after she leaves the checkout on the way out of the place.

Dr Gerostamoulos testified that the leftovers were co-mingled. Not clean samples.

The court heard that leftovers were collected from two different places in Erin Patterson's home, but were put into one bag.
Dr Gerostamoulos said it was not an ideal way to receive the samples.

The leftovers were collected from two different places in Erin Patterson's home.

The bin, and.....?

Why were the leftovers in two different places? (2 days after the lunch).

Was her half (untainted) BW in the bin, and the other (with the meat miraculously missing, and in her children's stomachs) in the fridge on a plate?

EP knew by Sunday afternoon that all of her lunch guests were gravely ill in hospital. Yet she says she fed her children Saturday lunch leftovers that Sunday night.

Without knowing what had caused her guest's illness, she had all of the leftovers in her house and the children had access to them. The gravy, the cake, the fruit salad, possibly some veggies.

A bit reckless, don't you think?

As I understand it, the beef wellington leftovers were collected from the bin and the fruit platter and gravy were collected from the fridge?
