Australia Australia - Pheobe Bishop, 17, failed to board a flight from Queensland, Bundaberg, 15 May 2025 *Arrests* #3

Criminal specialist on sunrise explained the interference charges as anything that is disrespectful to a corpse. She used the example of disinterring - i.e. removing from burial site. Sounds like just moving a body to a location does not bring this charge. Moreso it is removing it once it has already been buried.

This coupled with the police saying after the GNS search that they were confident evidence had been moved leads me to believe they found an empty grave site - hence bringing in the dogs to confirm there had in fact been a corpse in the empty grave. Just my opinion obviously

I personally think that JW and/or TB accessed Phoebe's social media accounts to make it look like she was still alive, living it up somewhere on the alleged $5000. Or to access emails or private messengers to see who'd contacted her and what information they could glean from that.

Poor Pheobe, so close to getting a break from that hell hole, and a chance for some joy, even if it was short term.

So close, its heartbreaking

She had the chance last week, but didn't take it. Unless police kept it quiet. Pheobe needs to be found, now.
She wouldn't have known they had all the evidence.
Police were onto him and his tale tall to the journo which was after her appearance last week.

Building the case

They needed them both charged not just one

Did anyone see the QPS media conference? I can't seem to watch it but 9 news says they said PB was in the car near Bundaberg Airport that day but no one exited the car. He also said that they will allege JW and TB moved the body more than once and that one of those times was from GNS

I have the QPS app. Media didn't pick this up immediately. Some tv news updates at 10pm were still saying JW was released without charge (old news)

8.21pm on 5th June, QPS put out this media statement #5.

Police allege murdered Gin Gin teenager Pheobe Bishop's body was moved multiple times

Police will allege the body of Queensland teenager Pheobe Bishop was moved multiple times, after she was allegedly murdered by her housemates.

James Wood, 34, and Tanika Bromley, 33, are both facing one count each of murder, and two counts each of interfering with a corpse.

The 17-year-old from Gin Gin, north of Brisbane, has been missing since May 15.

Police will allege Pheobe was in a car with her housemates on the way to Bundaberg Airport, but the teenager never entered the terminal.

"We will allege that three people arrived near to the airport, and that three people never left that vehicle," Detective Inspector Craig Mansfield said.

He said they expected to find her body in the greater Gin Gin area.

"We are suspecting we may locate Pheobe, but it is a broad, unforgiving area that we're trying to narrow down," he said.

Police to allege Pheobe’s body was moved more than once as housemates charged with murder

Police have shared new details of their allegations against the housemates of missing teen Pheobe Bishop, who have been charged with her murder.

Police will allege missing teenager Pheobe Bishop’s body was moved “on more than one occasion” by her housemates, who were overnight charged with her murder.

Detective Inspector Craig Mansfield told reporters on Friday it would be alleged Phoebe’s body was at one point in the Good Night Scrub National Park.

It will be alleged Pheobe, Mr Wood and Ms Bromley were all in the car when it arrived on Airport Drive near Bundaberg Airport on May 15.

“Our evidence will outline the fact that three people arrived near to the airport, and three people never exited that vehicle,” he said.

He said police “were not finished” with their investigation, and their primary focus was now to locate Pheobe, with officers returning to previous locations of interest to continue the search.

“As you’re well aware we’ve searched particular areas to date. It is a vast area of unforgiving terrain that we’ve been looking into,” Inspector Mansfield said.

“While we always hoped to find Pheobe alive, as our investigation has progressed ... quite clearly showed us that was not going to be a viable outcome.”

Police have also not yet located Pheobe’s luggage.

“We suspect it will be in the greater Gin Gin area,” Inspector Mansfield said.

Inspector Mansfield revealed their investigation had been informed by telephone data, and more than 200 tip offs from members of the public.”

9News Facebook page has the video. The sound is distorted for the first few minutes but it does play.

Just watched it. Interesting one of them was arrested and charged at the police station last night. Wonder if they pulled TB in for questioning and the media missed it. Confirms they have evidence of motive. Confirms 3 people were in the car near the airport but 3 people never left the car. Suspect her body is in the greater Gin Gin area. Very interesting watch.

Sufficient evidence found to confirm PB, JW, TB were all at GNS.

They are searching GNS again, they believe she is there somewhere.

From the comments by JW, it sounds like something definitely happened at the house. Idk if that was when they killed her but the drive to the airport/being seen on camera was an attempt to make it look like they dropped her at the airport Imo. I don’t think they left the house with any intention of letting her get on a flight. Jmo.

This is getting worse and worse!!!!

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Detective Inspector Mansfield confirmed multiple dead dogs had been found at the Gin Gin home where the three were living.

He said more charges may be laid against Mr Wood and Ms Bromley. “

"Our primary focus was clearly Pheobe in this homicide investigation so all of those other charges will likely follow."
