It's the inserting of the duffle bag, "the size of her" , that is the most concerning in what he says.

"After loading a large duffle bag - 'almost the size of her' - into the car alongside his dog, they set off for the airport, with Bromley driving and Pheobe in the back seat. "

A duffle bag the size of her? A slim young girl carrying a duffle bag the size of herself. 180cm tall? For a 10 day holiday. With baggage restrictions of 20kgs. And he says she has a duffle bag the size of her ?

Initial reports said she had a suitcase.

That's not a duffle bag.

"Phoebe was still complaining she didn't have time to do her make up and was worried she was going to miss the flight.
'We just wanted to get her checked in and thought if we can just get there she will calm down.
'Tanika grabbed her makeup bag next to her and passed it back and told her to take anything she needed.
'Her plane was stopping in Brisbane and we told her that the airport had everything she needed and she can take her time and do the makeup in the toilets.

Next to her? Huh? He says she was driving the car?
And why does she have her make-up bag in the car conveniently saying take it with you and do your make-up in Brisbane? Tanika, who doesn't work, has no money but giving up a womans pride by way of her own make-up.??

Makes as much sense as PB wearing his size 20 pants.
They're most likely going to find her without makeup on and not dressed like she was about to board a plane. The tracksuit pants could be part of the unaliving, used for strangulation or wiping something up. The duffle bag story, although not always unusual but PB would more than likely have a suitcase that you pull along on wheels. MOO

It would be interesting to see the real departure time on the airplane ticket.

There’s more to this …. Something doesn’t fit .. thinking there are other people involved

I'm only sure of 1 thing.
Money is involved IMO.

Ooops!
I said it... AGAIN?

You know...
"When nobody knows what it is about,
It is probably about money."

According to the saying from my country

Can't he stay in some motel?
Really,
living in a car seems absurd to me
Hunted by locals.
Honestly,
it makes me uneasy.

Or stay with his parents?
Although they seem to live elsewhere, out of this area, no?

It is all turning into a circus.
With Media descending, locals bothering him.
Sorry,
but it is My Opinion.
Gin Gin is a very small town. Not too many motels to stay in.

All would have NO VACANCY up if he came knocking JMO

From the state of him, he has no money, also with the dog, he would not be allowed the dog in a motel most likely. So may choose to stay homeless to keep the dog with him.

Honestly! JW walks in “Sorry we’ve closed down the business..”

If they are getting close, I think we can expect to read about JW in the news shortly given his text messages with his friend where he insinuates they will unalive themselves before they can be sent to jail.

I really hope this isn't the case before she can be found.
That's not what I took from the article. It sounded more like he was worried the public would hunt them down and do something to them, not that they'd hurt themselves.

Yes, that is another way to read it. But once charged they will be put in prison and most likely in high risk so no-one would be able to get to them which is why I read it as I did.

Yep my thoughts too, a page or two back.

If you look at what he is actually saying in his interview, he paints PB to be an uncontrollable, volatile, thief who took advantaged of their "nurturing" parental like ways.

Phoebe.

Who worked and saved for her return flight of 10 days away to see her BF.

Phoebe who had a job as a cleaner.

Phoebe who hated staying there by her own admission

Phoebe who was packed and ready to go days earlier

Now being brandished as a violent thief who took advantage of 2 feral adults who had DV and other convictions against them.

I actually find it fascinating that he drops so much in with his account of that morning.

His track pants

Her makeup bag

The actual amount of $5K and jewellery?

His words. No one elses.

Their words about what happened that morning "dropping her off on Airport Rd " .

She had a return ticket "10 beautiful days".

What was she going to do after she returned and obviously had her personal belongings still in the house......, after "stealing $5 K" from him???

I'll put that gem, along with her wearing his track pants over to see her boyfriend for the first time in ages and taking Tanikas makeup bag to Brisbane with her, straight in the manure bin.

Isolation or the bone yard as they call it in Australia isn't really 100% isolation from other prisoners. Plenty of people get killed in isolation. Sometimes, the prison wardens deliberately forget to leave the cell doors open, or there's a small window of opportunity where two prisoners can meet.

BBM - I'm not sure if the wording has been twisted here on WS, or it's been reported elsewhere that way, but I've never read it that way. The following article says "10 days beautiful". My belief is that she's calling her friend "beautiful", a common way young women refer to their tribe. Not that it really has significance, it's quite clear that she was excited to not only escape the "hell hole" she was in, but to see her boyfriend and enjoy a holiday away.

Whilst I understand that WS is victim friendly, we have to consider there may be a little truth in what JW says about Pheobe. None of us know her, or anything about the real Pheobe, just what we've read and seen through the media. We can infer a few things from the info shared, but we really don't know what she is like day to day. The fact does remain that she was not living with her parents, or any family members. I feel like we've romanticized her a little, to be a victim of life's circumstances, trying to better herself and get ahead. I'm not trying to turn her into the "bad guy", but I'm just considering the fact that she may not have been the perfect, hard done by teenager we've painted her as. Regardless, it does appear that she is a victim of a crime, and nobody deserves that.

You are totally right. We don't know her and by all accounts it seems she was a little feisty. BUT she is 17 and currently missing for 3 weeks and no-one is telling the truth including her family IMO - she definitely doesnt deserve any of that no matter what she was like. At the end of the day she is still a kid.

Absoluterubbish - I absolutely agree. Nobody is a perfect angel, but nobody deserves what has happened to her either. Regardless, she's a product of her upbringing.

Judging by her SM posts she seemed to be struggling emotionally.

Was she battling depression?

Her SM texts are worrying.
Her appearance caused pity in shop's employees.

- Mother "kicked her out" from the house.
- Father didn't want her to live with him.
- Aunt didn't keep in touch for years.

What exactly was the problem?

yeah same, like JW and TB would be “lynched” before they see the courtroom.

I'd argue how could she NOT be battling depression in some form? She felt like that wasn't her town, or her people, and her actual people (family) were somewhat estranged. Estranged enough that she couldn't live with them , by choice or not. She seemed to have the emotional intelligence to know that she wasn't in the best situation and to want more for herself, but her age and lack of money made it difficult.

I agree, it’s depressing to read of her situation. I can not imagine the pain, isolation and desperation she must have been feeling, being the CHILD actually experiencing this all. You can feel it for her, reading the entire story. It’s so heartbreaking.
