This is the trial for Placentia's 'number one' missing/murder case, by the way - according to various media reports.

http://abc7.com/news/csuf-murder-trial-defendant-was-enraged-by-jealousy/536144/

Which I guess makes Bob Harrod number two. :(

Until the verdict of Cathy Torrez's alleged murderer comes in next week....Then Bob will move up to the top spot. There's no-one else waiting, thank heavens.

I knew about that story but didn't cover it. I understand, I hope, the suffering that drives people to take their own lives. But sometimes, when they jump in front of a train, car or take their lives where a class of kids will find them...it's as though they want a witness or company on their final journey. No matter what the cost to the person/people unwillingly dragged along.

Rest in peace. But I don't think she should have done it. Not like that. :(

I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I just saw this story on ID channel and google searched it and came across Websleuths board. I am trying to learn my way around it within the tapatalk app, so please bear with me. I am excited to have found this community, These stories intrigue me. Mr. Harrods story is so sad. I really feel bad for his wife, losing him not once but twice!! I just pray they find him before she passes away.

The photos published by LE of the upstairs bathroom has always signified, in my opinion, that any injury and/or scuffle involving Bob occurred in that location. I want to believe there was an accident that ended tragically. However, it also stands out that a bathroom is the easiest location in a house to clean up a crime scene. An elderly person could drown, or be knocked out, in the tub and little forensic evidence would be found. That leads me to my next thought regarding the transfer of Bob from upstairs to downstairs. Even a slender body is difficult to carry down stairs when unconscious or deceased. The easiest method of transfer would be to place Bob in the electric lift chair. I'm certain LE carefully examined the upstairs bathroom, but I wonder whether they examined the lift for blood or body fluids. We know that dogs were not used during the initial investigation, but I wonder if cadaver dogs were brought in once Fontelle moved in to the house. As far as removing Bob from the house it seems unlikely he left via the front door. The sliding door is a good possibility, but I also keep remembering that when LE met GS at the house, on the night of the disappearance, that the door from the kitchen to the garage was blocked and LE could not access that area. I'm not convinced that Bob wasn't moved directly to the garage and then through the side garage door to a vehicle. That would be the route that would guarantee the least visibility during the transfer. I keep hoping that the declaration of death and pending distribution of the estate will bring some charges against the guilty. jmoo

Forgive me if this has been mentioned, I just found this forum today and have been reading the comments. I just watched this story on ID channel and a few things I question are, Do we know if Bob actually called the SIL over to do repairs on the house, or was he there to get rid of Bob? I thought it was strange that the ID channel made sure to point out that the CL suggested the SIL was upstairs longer than she thought it should take for him to go up and see if Bob was up there before she went up there. I am sure you all have coverd this, I just have not found it yet. I am still trying to learn all the abbreviations..LoL

Welcome Wrainn! So nice to have you here on Bob's thread!

In answer to your question, from posts on social media by family members over the years, it seems very likely to me that Bob did ask his son-in-law Jeff Michaels to carry out repairs in the days leading up to his death. There is a single media link, somewhere, that mentions Julie Michaels (youngest daughter/son-in-law's wife) also staying in Bob's house during those days.

Another daughter said Jeff Michaels had carried out small repairs for Bob for years. I don't know if this work was paid for though, or went through official tax channels if it was.

It is very strange that Jeff Michaels left the housekeeper standing downstairs so long and did not reassure her, I agree. It seems a little cool for someone who appeared to care for Bob. More concerning to me though, is that he never reported Bob missing, or made any appeal for people to help find him. Or even, it seems, attempted any searches himself, when it appears he had the training and fitness to do so.

This morning I watched Disappeared about Bob. I really have never looked into this case before and I don't know why.
Right now I am trying to see if there are any real suspects and get up to date. I am very curious about opinions because I have a few after watching the show but I also know there are most likely people who have been following this case for years and know way more about Bob.

I am going to have to spend some times reading threads but after the show this morning, I kept thinking who had anything to gain from Bob's death and that would have to be family. This to me just seems to be very close to Bob and that makes me sad because he seemed like a really good guy who worked hard to earn his security. I hope they find him and find who helped him disappear.

It's LA not OC, but another cold case has just cracked wide open. Multi, multi-millionaire (from real estate) Robert Durst has just been arrested in connection with the 2000 murder of Susan Berman in LA. Durst's wife Kathleen has been missing since 1982. There's the last episode of a TV series about him airing tonight, 'The Jinx'.

http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/...rrested-in-la-murder-case-20150315-story.html

I can't help but be fascinated because it's the inverse of Bob's case; inheritance, real estate, money, marriage and family fighting are common issues. But in Robert Durst's case, people around him disappeared and died. In Bob's case, he was the one who disappeared. And of course in Bob's case, he was a loyal, respectable family man. Durst appears far from that.

I have nothing to add at this point, but it pains me to see this thread way down on page 2.

The OC Register has got a new lease of life:

http://blogs.ocweekly.com/navelgazing/2015/03/aaron_kushner_resigns_oc_register.php

So I think it's time to re-link one of its old articles about Bob, which really were very, very gòod in the OC Register's good old days:

Though there is no evidence to suggest that someone killed Bob Harrod, there's no evidence to suggest someone didn't...Police say Bob Harrod's son-in-law Jeff Michaels was doing work at the house July 27 in preparation for Fontelle Harrod's arrival... Michaels told police he left the house for Home Depot to buy supplies around 2:30 p.m., and time stamped-receipts bear him out, Loomis said.

And here's the link for Julie Michaels, Bob's youngest daughter (and son-in-law Jeff Michael's wife) telling media Bob went missing long before her husband left the house for the Home Depot trip, the receipt for which is his alibi?? She says Bob went missing at 'maybe one, noon?'

I wonder if she was there or her husband Jeff Michaels just told her that?

It's amazing where people so close to the case, who say they love Bob Harrod, can be so active on social media but still ignore the elephant in the room - Bob Harrod is still missing. WTH?

Can't understand why people enable that, to be honest. Something very wrong there.

I keep hoping, that someday he will be found :( This one remains stuck in my craw because I suspect the person who disappeared him was completely trusted. And yet life just seems to go on with nary a ripple.
