From an Oct 8, 2009 article:
According to records from Orange County Probate Court, Brady and Borcher filed a petition for conservatorship to gain control of their father's assets Aug. 7.

Fontelle Harrod is contesting the action and is still living in Bob Harrod's house, with the locks changed.

Brady said they brought the matter to court because they wanted to free up some of the money to offer a reward for information leading to Bob Harrod's whereabouts, as well as money to pay for bills and maintenance at the house.

The judge ruled against them.

Records pertaining to the case in probate are sealed, and the next hearing is Nov. 10.

I hope the recent ruling means a reward will be offered soon.

Just to confirm, Fontelle did not speak to Bob on Mon AM, according to articles. It was the oldest daughter who posted on other forum (allegedly/hearsay) that she called and spoke to Bob sometime between 11:00-12:00 on Mon. She said she realized her BIL was there and heard him say he was going to the hardware store, and that her dad "responded to him in a favorable way."

And THAT is not a source I would believe.

Ok - I need to throw something out there:

My DH's Mum passed away 13 years ago. It was not long before his Dad (whom we adore!) was with another woman. In fact, it was so fast, there was a LOT of speculation that they had been together for a while. In any case, she moved into the family home in short order and resides there now.

Now then, Hubby is the oldest of the kids and is the executor of his Dad's will. We don't need or want anything financially. But there are things that belonged to his Mum that he wants. They are not, necessarily, of any value. But they are valuable to him (and sister and brother) and still in that house.

I can pretty much guarantee that, when DH's Dad passes, his children willl NOT get their mother's things from that house. The "new" wife is mean and hateful and has NOTHING of her own. But Dad cannot see that. We shall see.

My Hubby is afraid to tell his own father what is important to him. He doesn't want to seem greedy and he doesn't really want to speak - out loud - about losing his Dad.

That being said, I understand where Bob's daughters are coming from. Has anyone ever considered that the "things" they want have sentimental value? Or are they, because they are women, assumed to be greedy?

The house in which their brand new "stepmother" is living, is the home in which they grew up and where their Mother lived. WHY would they not do everything in their power to protect what their own family had built?

Not everything is black or white.

I would have to say this is typical behavior in many families. However, if a family member turns up missing and LE is investigating that as a possible homicide. then typical behavior becomes highly suspect and possible motive for murder.

It's the same as a spouse cheating on their spouse doesn't make one a potential murderer. But if one of those spouse turns up missing, that affair now becomes a possible motive for murder.

It's the missing or murdered person added to everyday life events that change their meaning.

I was just re-reading the daughter's posts that were written on another forum shortly after Mr. Harrod went missing.

The distain and contempt for their father shines through many of the posts.

Their lack of concern for his well-being and their lack of motivation to find him also shines through.

They trash his character time and time again. To write what they wrote.........they knew he was never coming home.

Fontelle has always been the person trying to keep this story alive. She is the one that contacts media and asks for help finding Mr. Harrod. The daughters have done the opposite.

I want to try and keep this objective, if possible.
If we, at WS, focus on one person as the 'who did it' person, without any proof, we have blinders on.
IMO.
It is too easy to point a finger at someone and then try to make
things fit our notion of what happened.
I found that out when I truly thought the woman friend of Robert Harrod was the person who had harmed him.

Fontelle does seem to try and keep the story alive, but
his daughters put his information in NaMus in the first month after he went missing, they have given interviews to the media, they have tried to correct some physical details of their dad's description to LE, but nothing was corrected.

What I would like to see is PPD allowing Orange County Sheriff's Dept to take a fresh look at the case.
Or maybe a new PPD police person reviewing the case or a retired PPD police person?
I am thinking just have someone who is an experienced law enforcement review it all.

That, plus, if the media could run a one year anniversary story would be a good thing.
It might bring a new light on where Robert Harrod is.

Agree!!!

I think most of us know that the last person seen with the missing person could be viewed with suspicion.

Having said that,
I do not know Robert's SIL.
I do know he went to help his FIL that Monday.

IF,IF,IF,
there is any probability of him being involved, my best
guess would be that it was a horrible accident.
Maybe, words were exchanged about the evening before, why
not just hand over the legal paperwork, or maybe
are you happy with your decision to marry?
I am thinking maybe a shove back and forth....?
??
I don't know.

If, if, if
that happened,
then why not just own up to it, call 911 and
deal with whatever the aftermath would be.

I don't know.
Most likely, this possible scenario is all wrong.
I sure hope so.

Otherwise, that leaves the housekeeper....
and I cannot even come up with a possible scenario for that...
None at all.

I agree SuziQ - and Lord knows we see that enough around here for it to be the logical conclusion. I just don't want to shut myself off to other possibilities by focusing on the painfully obvious. And I don't want LE to, either. If they have, it could explain why we're still here, nearly a year later, with no Bob and no answers.

If the daughters are responsible for Bob being gone, they have behaved in exactly the opposite manner than would be expected. If you killed someone, would you be bad-mouthing the victim all over the place? Would you let the world know all your dirty family secrets? It just doesn't make sense to me.

But that's JMOHO

We do not know what transpired the night before at the "family meeting'. It supposedly became "heated". I submit that the family became angry that Fontelle could be added to the estate. This took away from the income the family was hoping for. They posted their desires for all to read.

RH was an old man, not long for this world...but all of a sudden he found a new reason to live, to take care of himself! It looked like the "windfall" was not only NOT going to happen in the near future, but another person could be dipping into the funds! IMO perhaps someone/s became very angry. Perhaps somebody was depending on that cashflow. I wish there was a way to find out...

I would like to suggest we all agree to disagree?

We each can hold our own theories, and view points about what happened to Bob and still discuss his disappearance and hopefully be able to sleuth out every possible aspect of what might have happened to Bob.

Not chastising anyone! (I would never do that, honestly!) Just hoping we can all move forward and respect each other's opinions, theories and etc.

Yes. Especially since officials have since stated that the last verification that Bob was at the house than SIL/JM was a phone call at 10:00AM.

Bob/Family Trust owned the house in Monrovia where he and G once lived and where the daughters grew up (Bob and G moved to Placentia in 2002). If for instance, someone was living in the Monrovia house that Bob/Family Trust owned, I would speculate she felt threatened/angry when Bob told her he planned to include his new wife in the estate. Might lead person to cover for someone after Bob went missing to protect her own interests, including posting on a forum about a phone call to throw suspicion away from the person who was with Bob last and other posts to throw suspicion onto the barber and then the new wife. IMO.

After Bob disappeared, someone -- police won't say who -- told officers he might have regretted the decision to marry. For three days police thought they were dealing with a case of cold feet.

Bob went missing on Mon, July 27th. Fontelle arrived in Placentia on Wed, July 29th. Speculation that she probably had an in-person interview with the PPD shortly thereafter, and advised what Bob told her about the argument with the daughters.

By then the housekeeper had cleaned Bob’s house (not knowing it was a potential crime scene), one daughter (wife of SIL) going into Bob’s house to “get the house ready, linens changed for he and his wife,“ other daughters, other relatives, and Fontelle in the house.

And now, almost 1 year later, we find out that Bob’s friend/former neighbor, who only moved about 1 week before Bob went missing and has knowledge of Bob’s state of mind and prior events that occurred between Bob and his daughters, has never even been questioned by the PPD.

I must have missed something. I thought we were all having a pretty good discussion on both sides of the fence.

I can definitely see something happening in the heat of the moment on Sunday night. Or the BIL went back the next morning with a nefarious purpose.

This is my wish for Robert Harrod at this time>>>
that each of us take some time to contact Placentia Police Dept, Orange Cty Register,
and any other media outlets.
We can email, smail mail, phone, anything to have Robert Harrod's missing person case refreshed.

It would be good if family could organize a vigil about the same time...
July 27..., up to them, of course.

All his case needs is one person, who saw something, maybe slightly out of the ordinary, but by now feels they should tell someone about it.

 • #477
I'll do that tomorrow morning for me Dreamweaver good idea!

FYI, it's the 1 year anniversary coming up. He went missing on July 27, 2009.

I had to double check and make sure I was on the discussion forum. I am :)

Does anyone know who the last person to see Bob was? (I think I have an idea of who it might be, just want confirmation).

I looked at the general address of 500 Carnation Placentia CA and I don't see any route that Bob could have walked that would have taken him to an area that we wouldn't be able to find him. Not a direct route JMHO.

Wow! I didn't know there were any updates on this thread! I have always been suspicious of this area NOT the people that live there. They sell fruits/ veggies, store car parts there..But it is a LARGE field that is fenced and is an open, unlocked all day long but locked at night. It is a very short walk from Carnation..Go to the Birds Eye view and go South. You will see the BIG field with all the cars, etc. Then go North you will see the Post Office..Go directly across the street , on Kraemer and you will see the building with the Big, White roof and THAT is CVS! ( If you hit ROAD on the map and look to the South you will see how close Carnation is to this area)
