Huntingdon Beach is nearest to Placentia, max 28 miles. It's math again, but 28 and 28 doesn't make 100 to me (note I've smartly avoided giving an exact answer here). Maybe another beach? Does anyone know if there are popular beach side departure places for ash scattering ceremonies? Any specialist boat services? I think in some places you're supposed to have a special permit or something.

I guess I just assumed that most people wanting to be scattered at sea had a love for the water- and their spouse would have shared that in some way?

I can't find any court info either, I just have dec 5 stuck in my mind for some reason. Good possibility it's another case.
I will try to pull up the dockets.

IIRC the hearing is today for the rent. You know, where they are appealing to the courts to charge Bob's wife RENT. RENT towards her MARITAL HOME? Cripes!

Well, Bob was a marine but I think it's more likely to have something to do with the fact that Georgia's father was lost at sea in WW11.

I am absolutely fed up with searching CA burials at sea though - some of the websites are diabolical - they stick the burials at sea inbetween fishing and whale watching. And there are some that are so badly designed. There are many, many, people who can design beautiful, functional websites nowadays. I suspect many of them live in California. There is no excuse, really. Especially those that say 'see our testimonials' and take you to another page entirely.

Anyway, what this means is I cannot find the location of the memorial boat and am a bit frustrated.

Rent? That is rent for the marital home? The home that Bob said, 'What can I do to make you stay here?' and Fontelle said, 'Marry me,' and Bob did, just as soon as he could?

And Bob was 'so happy' (PE), and his daughters were so happy too, so they said. And they have also said, again and again, that everything they do, they do 'as per' Dad's wishes.

So are they now saying they are taking Mrs Harrod (note that title) to court for rent because it is 'as per' Dad's wishes? Dad was waiting for Fontelle to return from MO to fling out his arms, say 'Welcome back, my darling wife........now let's talk about the rent you'll pay me.'

I don't think so. I hate hypocrisy. If you're going to do something and you think you're right, just do it. Don't hide behind the 'wishes' of a missing man who never did ( and never would have) 'wished' that in the first place.

But then, maybe daughters knew of an arrangement where Georgia Harrod paid Bob rent, so maybe it was completely normal in that family and I'm being unfair to them.

I was in court today for the hearing. The court did not issue a ruling today but the parties presented their cases and argued their sides. The court is going to take the matter under submission and issue a ruling later. I hope that occurs before Christmas.

I will write much more later but right now I have an appointment and I am very tired. I don't think much of the argument to charge Mrs. Harrod rent but I am worried that the argument to, in the alternative, lower support, was a strong one.

When a friend of mine's mom passed away. He and another friend of ours who has a boat went out to the ocean and had a little ceremony with the three of us and empied her ashes into the Pacific Ocean. It doesn't have to be a big organized thing with one of the on-line companies. If any family member had a boat, it could have been done that way. JMO

Not that it has anything to do with Bob Harrod's disappearance, but the remains of a human were found out in the Temecula area here. It's in Riverside County. Thought I'd throw it out there so you can watch for results maybe. It could be one of several missing persons being sleuthed here but Bob is one of them

I can't believe these people would charge Mrs. Harrod rent to stay in the marital home. This is too much. Somebody needs a kick in the....um...butt.

But while Fontelle is home in Missouri preparing for her cross-country move, Bob disappears. At first, police believe he may have suffered a health problem typical of his age. But as time goes on and Bob isn't found, they begin to suspect foul play. It's not long until a strong motive surfaces: Bob is a millionaire.

These civil actions by Bob's CA family really reinforce the motive listed on the disappeared site as accurate. There is so much behavior from the mile long memorabilia list to insisting Bob's wife pay rent in the marital home that reinforce the motive. IMO, just because LE has not publicly named suspects, does not mean they don't have them.

They have no problem kicking debt after debt to the curb for a family member, yet want to reduce a stipend to Bob's wife.

It is so laughable. It is so transparent.

Gitana, thanks so much for attending and posting. It is very sad that it appears Bob's wife may have her small allowance from her husband's multi-million pound fortune reduced.

Perhaps Bob's daughters are in great need of money to renovate space they do not need at this time.
