But that's where you find the little devils hiding with their pitchfork full of lies, Oriah.

(am I mixing my metaphors there?)

Devil's always in the details. ;)

I want to know if JeM (or anyone who saw Mr. Harrod that morning) changed clothes that day. And if so- where, and when? Where is the clothing that the people who last saw Mr. Harrod or were last in his residence, now?

You're right zwiebel! I probably focus on details too much!

Just thought - if JeM did change his clothes between seeing the CL at Bob's and visiting Home Depot, it'll be on surveillance. Home Depot are very good like that ( see Abraham Shakespeare case).

Also, between visiting CVS Pharmacy and seeing the CL - CVS may have video. All depends on what the CL noticed, and I worry she was too frightened about Bob to notice what JeM was wearing. Unless his demeanour caused his appearance that day to lodge in her mind......

Does anyone have the exact specific info on the last time Mr. Harrod traveled more than 100 miles out of town, before he disappeared? TIA if anyone knows...

You probably don' t want to say exactly why you need to know this Oriah, but it's going to keep me occupied for hours - for the life of me I can't work it out. Though I know you'll have a good reason.

I'm off to Bob's SAR thread to make a fool of myself now.

Yes- Home Depot and CVS and similar businesses are usually very good for surveillance. I wonder if someone changed their clothes at a private residence?

Idk about ya'll, but everyone I know wants to wash and change clothes after doing plumbing or yard or vehicle or just ick work in general. Who would have noticed something like this in Mr. Harrod's case?

There's a quote, Albert Einstein I believe? or maybe someone else entirely? that goes something like, before God we are equally wise and equally foolish.
Whoever it was, that person had some smarts.

Mr. Harrod- where are you?? I hope wherever you are, you know that no one has given up on finding you.

I'm back. If there was nobody in the SAR thread to see me make a fool of myself, I couldn't make a fool of myself, right?

I'm thinking that the likeliest place for JeM to want to stop off at, would be his own son's house, a couple of streets away from Bob's, at the time? Even if it was just to drop in and say hello - or maybe pass on the news that Bob had gone missing.

I wonder if his son worked from home, or maybe another family member could have been there. As all the daughters and grandson kept so many things at Bob's, I wouldn't be surprised if a change of clothes or two were also mixed up among the family's homes.

Oh, how I wish, wish wish the CL would start posting here. Do you think she knows we exist? If not, how can we get her attention?

Facebook would be the normal route.....talking of which, where's our useless facebook tag? I'm not losing that.

Does anyone have any idea how many properties the Harrod Family Trust owns?

But while Fontelle is home in Missouri preparing for her cross-country move, Bob disappears. At first, police believe he may have suffered a health problem typical of his age. But as time goes on and Bob isn't found, they begin to suspect foul play. It's not long until a strong motive surfaces: Bob is a millionaire.

Still checking for an air date for the episode featuring Bob's case.

ETA: Cases other than Bob's are scheduled to air through the 17th. I'm not sure if they have their regular programming for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, the two following Monday's after the 17th. Maybe January is my guess, if the programming differs for the holiday dates.

I'm still recording every episode of Disappeared and he hasn't been on yet. I don't know when they will air his episode.

The tension is almost unbearable. In fact, I couldn't bear it......but for the fact if we're feeling like this, just imagine how certain other people are feeling. Still, all those with nothing to hide will have nothing to worry about - like the CL.

ETA: This is in answer to Oriah's quote re when did Bob last make a 100 mile journey? I forgot to put her quote in here. Sorry.

I have no info about that at all, but as I said hours ago, I have been thinking about it.

In 2009 Mr Harrod had such bad knees he couldn't walk far at all. I've never had bad knees, but I'm guessing a 100 mile drive could get pretty uncomfortable for him, especially with his height as well as the knees. He didn't drive down to see FH either, she came to him. If he could have driven down to see her, I think he would have.

The year before that, Bob's wife was dying. I can't see him making long journeys then, and her nursing home was not 100 miles away. Georgia was also sick in the years before that, but it's impossible to tell if she or Bob were up to making long journeys. 100 miles is obviously 50 miles there and back, so it's not very far really, in US terms.

So, my opinion is, if Bob did make a 100 mile journey, it was not during late 2007/all of 2008 and all of 2009 until July 27. And if 100 miles was added to his vehicle mileage in the last days of his life, I certainly think it should be looked at. Like what may lie within a 50 mile radius of his home?

Thank you mikkismom, that was like the sun breaking through the clouds. Why on earth didn't it occur to me to search for Robert Harrod properties, rather than Harrod Family Trust?

I know why - I've been brainwashed by all that talk of how nothing belonged to Bob, it was all part of this great, impersonal, very private family trust. Duh!

I interpreted Oriah's query as meaning a trip outside a 100 mile radius of Bob's home at the time.

Driving to see Fontelle would have entailed a 2000 mile (3200 km) trip. I think many people younger than Bob would hesitate to jump in the car for that kind of trip, just on the basis of saving money (it's much more expensive to drive considering the meals and overnight motel stays).

As I recall, Bob took care of Georgia in their home, so there was no travelling needed. I think it would depend on how long Georgia's health had been declining before she died. Did they move because her health was already declining in 2002 and they had too much house (since they apparently raised their children there)?

There was a trip to scatter Georgia's ashes in the ocean (the memorial where BL was invited). That may have been 100 miles away. I doubt that was 100 miles unless there was a particular place up or down the coast with significance.

I've seen something by P E and something by a daughter mentioning the long illness of GH - in fact I think PE mentioned the 'years' of Bob taking care of her and Sassy, the dog. That's another thing to take into account too; sick animals can't be left alone for long either. They may need medication, to be let out at regular intervals, etc.

From what PE said Bob didn't go out visiting friends much or socialising, and I do get the impression Bob just pottered around at home, most of the time. However, I do wonder where his doctor might have been located. That's one place PE said he had gone recently. I wonder if Bob had kept his old doctor from before he moved to Placentia, and if that might have worked out to be a 100 mile journey?

Am trying to work out where I'd end up if I tried driving 2000 miles from here: West,. I'd end up in the middle of the Atlantic somewhere after crossing two or three countries; East, some very remote part of Russia, I think. Not in winter, thank you very much......

What about drives to the coast?

also ETA: Isn't today a civil court date?

  • #179
Ummm, I don't think Bob was a beach type - unless he took FH. I'm sure if she had wanted a day out, he would have gone.

As for court dates - it can't be, otherwise Cubby or Believe09 would have been here reminding us. :)

By the way Oriah, so far you've had me looking for trash dumps, storage units, up mountain roads, in forests, all the way to Russia and now the beach. Amazing, considering most of the time I'm not even sure where I live. Can't wait to see where you send me next...
