Trying to wrap my brain around it all...
In January, RB decided to coordinate an effort to draft a letter that was to represent the interests of all three sisters. PB tells Bob about it, and Bob picks up the phone and flips out on JeM. Everyone is angry at PB for giving Bob a heads-up.

I wonder if this event had anything to do with Bob passing out 15k each and telling them to leave him alone.

I believe that, along with the report(s) to adult protective services were both part of why Bob gave them each 15K and asked them to leave him alone for 6 months.

January. The snowball begins rolling.

PB files Bob's taxes, discovers gifts to hairdresser, tells family
RB starts drafting first attorney letter to Bob
RB? files complaint of elder abuse to social services
Bob complains to son-in-law, JeM
Bob pays daughters $15k each to stay away

There may be more connections here, and something that makes Bob blaming son-in-law make more sense. I'm just meandering:

Daughter JuM mentions Bob giving the hairdresser a diamond bracelet
A daughter(JuM? RB?) has mentioned somewhere, I think, how they at first thought Bob had only given the hairdresser about $15k?

In California, the donor pays the gift tax. Does that tax kick in at $15k for non-family gifts? Did Bob have to declare that, and pay tax, and that's how PB knew?

Did daughters ask for the same amount from Bob they thought the hairdresser had got, $15k?

The diamond bracelet - that wouldn't show up in a tax return, I'd have thought. How did daughter JuM know about it? Could Bob have confided in son-in-law JeM, and it was him who told his wife and other sisters, and that was why Bob blamed him?

Or was JeM close to the hairdresser, and she told him about it, and then JeM spread the news around?

Still rolling that snowball:

Grandson AH and his huge borrowings from Bob:

If money given to the hairdresser provoked such strong reactions from the sisters, wouldn't they have been furious about the money handed to grandson too?

Maybe not from daughter JuM and son-in-law JeM, grandson's Mom and Dad, but his Aunts, RB and PB; wouldn't they have hit the roof?

There's no mention of it though; no reports to social services about it either. Could it be possible daughters RB and PB didn't know?

But if PB was doing Bob's tax returns, she should have done. Bob was earning interest on the loan repayments, which I'd have thought counted as declarable income.

Is it possible all that money going out to AH was kept as one big, huge secret between him and Bob?

I wouldn't be surprised if the hairdresser confided in JeM; PB and RB seem very fond and protective of him too.

Perhaps he's the type who would do anything for anyone.

I wonder what he would have done for his own son?

I think we have to tie some pieces together here. I don't know if you read the summary of the Disappeared show that aired in Australia, but in it the oldest daughter Paula mentions discovering Bob was gifting money to the hairdresser while doing/filing his 2008 taxes.

Daughter JuM posted about Bob pushing them away around Christmas, his not acknowledging his grandson or great grandchildren and we know from CA Exile that Bob had given each of his daughters 15K and asked them to leave him alone for 6 mo's.

All three of the above events happened at about the same time. I believe at this same time a call was made to Adult/senior protective services which was closed based on Bob dismissing them and his being of sound mind.

I did read that info about the taxes, but hadn't really processed it yet. I'm still trying to get a handle on the whole timeline. But now you've got me thinking about another question. If Bob had pushed everyone away around Christmas, why would he have Paula doing his taxes in January? Had he pushed everyone away or only certain people? Had Paula always done his taxes or was this a new development?

Keep rolling that snowball, Zwiebel! It's helping put things in order and I'm sure it will be helpful to the folks that will likely come along after Disappeared airs.

From daughter JM’s earlier post on ROTW, her husband JM was laid off from his job on April 21, 2009 (post since removed).

Add JeM's loss of his job to the events/timeline leading up to Bob's disappearance.
A little over 2 mo's after JeM is laid off, his wealthy FIL marries and less than a month later, after a heated meeting over FIL's money, FIL disappears.

That is a point though. If Bob had really pushed them all away, 'dropped' them - then why was PB still doing his taxes?

Was it just JeM and JuM he had pushed away? And maybe AH and his family too?

That would have been really hurtful. Both neighbour and daughter RB have suggested they were always favourites before. What could have happened?

I think Paula was an accountant and it was usual for her to do his taxes.
It's possible she started working with his receipts in late 2008? Filing this year is obviously different due to the passing of his wife.

I don't know exactly when or how, but I suspect JuM found out about the gifts to BL first, and then brought her sisters in convincing them to be concerned due to her? reporting elder abuse. I seemed to recall some posts of JuM's where she discusses their poi and claiming she tried to protect and warn him and then kind of throws her hands up and dismisses any responsibility for her actions and involvement in the family fighting.

She strikes me as the kind of person who doesn't quite grasp why everyone doesn't see things as she does.

We also don't know if the pushing away began before giving each daughter 15K. It is possible he asked earlier and they pushed and pushed until he gave the 15K and asked for the 6 mo's.

We're happy to help answer the questions tamild who are just now following Bob's case. Ask away!

Keep an eye out on your way down the trail Cubby - there's a snowball behind you, pretty big and gaining momentum fast.

As long as the snow ball rolls straight to LE and the prosecutors office, I'm all for it!

Justice is coming for Bob!

Still rolling:

Looking back to the media thread, we don't have exact dates for the reports of elder abuse going in to social services. But one daughter has said that Both reports were filed by JuM, another daughter.

The first probably went in around the beginning of 2009, about the hairdresser, before Bob is said to have paid daughters to stay away;

The second report seems to have gone in after Bob had met and married Fontelle, during the time Fontelle returned to MO to pack her things.

So is it possible JuM had reported her Dad's new wife as a potential financial abuser? Even though all the daughters said they were really happy for Bob, and JuM herself said in the video;

"I. Will. Be. Here. To. Welcome....His new wife" (she did say it in that funny way).

Surely not?

She did welcome Mrs Harrod too. Took her arm gently, in front of the cameras, and led her inside Bob's home.

The same home she turned up at days later, with her sisters, and told Mrs Harrod to get out of.

Same home she stripped the sheets and the teacups from, but insisted a stair elevator dangerous to Mrs Harrod should stay in. "As per Dad's wishes"

I just can't help wondering, behind this united public front of the family, what might be going on behind the scenes? And what effect the airing of Long Lost Love might have on them?

I certainly hope if there are any family meetings about it, they don't get heated.

Those snowrollers are amazing, by the way. The whole website, in fact. A person could learn something new everyday on WS!

I don't know if I should laugh or cry.

Disappeared has the time of Bob's show airing at 8pm ET.
TV Guide and DirecTV have it airing at 9pm ET.

On a positive note, Bob's case will be repeated at 11PM ET Thursday
and 10:00 am Saturday.

http://investigation.discovery.com/tv-shows/disappeared/tv-schedule.htm

Now to find out if the first airing is at 8 or 9 pm Eastern.

I think someone is reaping what they've sown with the air times being all over the place, lol. Starting to see things come full circle (to put it nicely)...... anxiously awaiting more things to come full circle. Snowball keep a rollin'!

Oh heck. I need to get some sleep and now I've got to change my sig again.

Positive thing is, people are going to be fascinated by all this uncertainty and will track the show down, just to find out what's going on!

What the heck? What is it about this episode??? How all the uncertainty of when it's airing??? This is crazy. Why don't they just bring it back on it's usual night at it's usual time??? If they had done that, I'd already have it programmed. As it is, I'm going to have to manually program it or miss it.

Amazing how THIS episode of all of them has been moved around so much. What gives???
