zwie you can share that Victorville location stuff if you want...I think some think the spot the remains were found is a little further than it actually is from the interstate....I may be wrong with my eyeballing it though.

Thanks, I'll take a look at what they got. The thread's moving like lightening though. It makes me dizzy just to look at it. For certain, all LE hands are going to be on deck in San Bernardino now. I wonder if the FBI are up there with them too, and if there are lots of searches and questions being asked.?

You never know what kind of answers people will give, or what they might reveal when they feel there is a listening, sympathetic ear. Even if it's unrelated.

yeah not a highly thought out premeditation, but some elements were possibly rolling around in someone's head. Like me thinking about my ex, that I could knock his 🤬🤬🤬, in the head, with a rock...fool that he was. But I didn't :)

Maybe an opportunity presented itself and was run with.

  • #1,243
Very glad to hear that sres!

An opportunity presenting itself sounds plausible. There is something about the alignment of events around his disappearance that leaves me uneasy though;

Two days before Mrs Harrod's due back
Housekeeper not due to call
Neighbour likely to call in moved away
Day after a family meeting about wills and trusts
First working day after the meeting when a lawyer or financial advisor could have been consulted.
First working day after the meeting when Bob could have followed up putting Fontelle's name on his accounts
A few days before elder abuse investigators are due to call again, and we know Bob was very displeased the first time that happened - blamed his son in law, daughter said

I don't know. I just don't know. Maybe a germination of an idea suddenly bloomed into an evil triffid on that Monday? Or some long held resentment and fury could no longer be contained?

if it is ever shown his missing involved a complete stranger, I will eat boiled okra
and that my friend is some nassy stuff to me

Someone knows or has a darn good inkling , how do they sleep, how do they live? For Bob's sake , PLEASE talk to LE, save your soul

  • #1,245
Oh, Mr Z used to be passionate about okra. Okra with everything.

Can't buy it where I am now. :)

It's difficult not to spend all of my time time right now following the McStay investigation. But, the case that brought me to this website a very long time ago is Bob's and I thought I would post a couple of pictures that have always had me wondering about the first night Bob went missing.

Picture 1 is of a kitchen laid out identical to Bob's, except reversed. The important thing to notice in this picture is that the doorway at the far left (just past the empty refrigerator spot) leads directly to the garage, where the laundry area is located).
Picture 2 shows the laundry area from the vantage point of that same door. Note that there is a door to the side yard of the house next to the laundry with a standard lock & key mechanism.
Picture 3 is of the sliding glass patio door in the kitchen that leads to the rear yard. It is the standard door used in California construction and it is only lockable from inside the house with a latch. There is no lock and key mechanism.

I'm curious about the connection between 2 facts we know. First, when JM returned from Home Depot to find Agnes waiting by the front door he went to the back of the house to let her in. There are only 3 exterior doors on that model house: the front door, the side door (by the laundry) and the sliding glass patio door. If he entered from the patio door it would have to be unlocked from the inside.

Second, when LE arrived and were let in by AH they did NOT look in the garage :banghead: They were told by AH that it was inaccessible because of all of the things being stored there. It is incomprehensible to me that they didn't look in there for Bob! They could have checked by opening the main garage door, the door by the laundry or forcing open the kitchen access door. Obviously, just about anything could have been hidden in there that night waiting to be disposed of in the middle of the night of the next morning.

Thank you so much again Travelbug. You've answered so many questions with that info, that we have puzzled about for ages. I think I am going to post about the sliding door lock in the SAR thread, where Oriah might see it. It will be nice to be able to answer one of her key questions, for a change.

Oh see travelbug that is what I had wondered too! I know I had questioned , I think, how AH and cleaning lady accessed the house if not from the front door.
Did they go thru the garage side door? OR did JeH go thru the garage side door , umm to check things out, hmm, ...then let her in the front door?? I really do not know that that was specifically clarified. You know like she followed him around, or waited at the front stoop.
Surely there was enough room to use the laundry, and go from inside to the outside that way...even if the rest of the garage was 'packed out'. If cleaning lady did not do laundry or had no real reason to go back into the garage, well then, could Mr. H have possibly been placed in the garage awaiting further moving...there fore the surprise at cleaning lady being there.
TO this day I don't understand the so called timeline, no matter who has tried to explain it to me:)
I really wonder if CL was actually waiting when JeH returned from that receipted 3 o'clock ish time...and he dared not leave until she was done.

No, I'll link the single post to the SAR thread. That'll be better than me trying to explain.

  • #1,250
It's JeM, not JeH, sres. His name's not Harrod. Is it? Although I wouldn't be surprised if he has changed his name again.

  • #1,251
oh lawsy, thank you zwie.... JeM..the name changes are confuzzelating at times

I just cannot understand why LE didn't perform a more complete search of the house and grounds for Bob. There must have been a lot of fast & smooth talking going on for them not to search the garage. In fact, if I were searching for an elderly person, having been told the garage was a mess, the first thing I would want to do is make certain they hadn't fallen or been trapped under something.

Just going to check the LE report, to see exactly what was said/done during the welfare check.

  • #1,255
I went back to the wrong thread then, Lol. Here are the details.

Police welfare check.

'AH (grandson) located an unlocked door leading to the West side of *** Carnation Drive, but it would only open approx 2" due to the clutter inside the garage.........We followed AH down the stairs and out the garage. The garage was very cluttered, but AH said it had always been that way'.

ETA Clarify. After two officers with AH checked the garage but couldn't get in, they all went upstairs. When they came down, they went 'out' the garage. It doesn't say how though.

Lol. At least one of Bob's daughters blamed most of the clutter on Fontelle's packages. But there's her nephew contradicting her again: 'It's always been that way'.

He must drive them to distraction sometimes.

Bumping this post so I can work out which doors police are talking about.

This report is too ambiguous. There are only stairs inside the house. Could they be saying the main overhead garage door was unlocked, but could not be opened? Did they get the door from inside the kitchen open and exit out the door near the laundry? And why was AH looking for an unlocked door, didn't he have a key to let them in?

Report says AH 'had a key' and met the police on the driveway, and let them in the front door.
