I see only one case under Mr. Harrod's name. I'm not seeing a 7/25 date anywhere. Someone here told me about the date.

The 07/25 date is under the case for the Trust proceedings.

The accounting is under the case for Conservatorship.

Note the two different case numbers. HTH

Then we should expect to see over 1 million in attorney's fee's, no?

Additionally, Mr. Harrod has not been declared deceased, so where has the money gone?

I am still very interested to see what an accounting would show. This whole case stinks. Poor dear man.

  • #543
You know what guys, I am sorry...well no not really.

Mrs Harrod is NOT a conservator of these accounts. She is NOT a trustee. She cannot write herself checks and she does not have any access to her husband's money other than a stipend that was agreed to by both parties in March of 2010.

SHE has not monkeyed with these accounts and her attorney's fees are NOT being paid for with Bob's money.

I am completely and totally and utterly disgusted.

:thud:

Shall we review again who was motivated by greed here?

Perhaps you can weigh in on this, gitana-this appears to be the first time that the co conservators have petitioned the court to pay the attorney fees here. So I have to wonder what has been going on with the last two plus years when it comes to the attorney fees? Have they simply been paid and not petitioned?

The hearing on 7/25 is a request to have Bob's wife pay rent at the marital residence.

Really. Not kidding.

Jerks. She's still married to him so why should she pay rent to these creeps?

I don't think it's the first time they asked for fees. They filed a statement of fees on 1-12-12. I'm not sure the outcome of that. Also, I didn't find the trust case so I didn't look at those documents in court. I'll try on another day and see if they are requesting attorney's fees there as well.

Thank you very much for that! Now I get it.

Bob's daughters are petitioning to have his wife pay rent? really.

Their true colors are shining through.

Bob's daughters: :liar: :liar: :liar: All three of them.

I'd like to see the accounting too. I guess we now know the reason for delay after delay after delay after delay.....

Let's see, conservative number 2,000,000.00
minus 864,732.00
___________
That leaves MINIMUM $1,135,268.00

Where has $1,135,268 gone?

I highly doubt $1,135,268 has been spent on attorneys fees.

WHERE IS THE MONEY?????? :furious:

They are also factoring in, I think, "conservator's fees" and then expenses associated with the estate. Not sure what.

You guys, you can go to the court can view them there or purchase copies. Does anyone else live around here? Cause' I don't want to pay for them.

I could go and pull up the docs and photograph each page. I think I can. Not sure if that's against the rules or not. But it would be time consuming.

  • #547
If anyone lives in the area and is willing to pay for the docs, which, if you just want to see the accounting, should be around 15 bucks or so, let me know. We can meet at the court and I can walk you through how to get them and I can bypass the lines at the filing window with my bar card.

Otherwise, I will try to view the accounting again and look for details. I can write down what they claim they used the money for.

They sure have wasted through funds rapidly, though, if he had over 2 million in accounts when this started. My gosh.

Is it possible that the Trust distributed to the beneficiaries following the death of Georgia Harrod? Having not seen the original agreement, I have no idea...just wondering.

Also, isn't the trust court-supervised?

I wish I was near, I would love to go and actually view the court files (both of them).

a big portion of my work involves estates, guardianships and other cases that fall under probate in my area. So Bob's case has caught my interest (thanks Suzyq211, for the heads up to check this one out) because I really enjoy dealing with our elderly clientele and I am just so saddened for Bob and his lovely bride.

and just based off what I have read regarding and by Mr. Harrod's unusual daughters, I am angered by their treatment of both he and the Mrs.

Trusts are not supervised by the court unless someone brings it to the court's attention. The sisters filed an initial inventory and appraisal so when I get a chance, i will look at that as well as all their subsequent accountings stating what they have done with the money.

A good thought, but until Bob is legally declared dead, he is Georgia's only beneficiary. You can take this with a grain of salt, but I have seen the trust documents. Bob was the beneficiary with the exception of a few bequests of jewelry.

Maybe we can set up a paypal, gitana? I will ask SoSueMe and Tricia.

:)

  • #553
Hi gitana! Thanks for ALL of your help and input. :-)

I can't say where I read it, but I believe the matter of court-supervision was brought to the attention of the court and granted.

We really need more documents from both sides in order to better understand just what's transpired here, imo.

I would be willing to chip-in for costs to obtain docs but I cannot go to the courthouse itself.

  • #555
Darn it. Does anyone live nearby? Because we don't have to buy the docs. If someone can go with me, I can get them pulled up and they can write down notes to post here.

The thing is, I am the least knowledgeable about the case. So if someone with more knowledge went with me, I can direct them while there, to what they need to see and from their questions, I can help sort out what we need to view.

  • #556
Oh, let's see what we can do about finding you someone, gitana. Perhaps someone near and dear to me lol...

I have to calm down, lol. I am so excited. It would be nice to see both sides, shana, I truly agree with you.

Talk about breathing new life. Thanks gitana. We will make this work for Bob.

  • #559

I'm not surprised. This is not atypical of family trusts wherein the husband and wife are Trustees.

It is unfortunate, however, that apparently no Successor Trustee was named.

Yes, because otherwise, reading only one side's filings is akin to hearing only one side of a telephone conversation. I like to get the whole picture.
