I don’t think a lot of people realize (on Mother’s Day of all days!) how good most mothers are at pushing through when stuff like this happens. So that’s why it raises red flags when they abandon ship like she did.Okay well you might’ve noticed plenty of critical comments regarding DM’s behavior, not only MBMs. I’d call it close to 50/50. But that doesn’t mean either is being accused of foul play, although IMO there’s quite a good chance both might not be 100% truthful about the scenario of that morning. But they could have their reasons.
This is routinely how a case gets discussed here - Somebody brings forward an action or words that seems odd or unusual and other WS members presents an explanation from their point of view. It becomes a quasi learning journey for each of us.
I haven’t looked but WS is usually absolutely tame compared to the spitfires occurring on SM.
As time moves on hopefully the RCMP will learn the answers to the reason these two children are missing. The longer it goes unsolved, the greater burden on each family especially if there’s deep, hostile divisions. My hope is they’re working with a trauma councillor who is able to ease their grief somewhat.

Everyone reacts differently to trauma. Everyone is a victim at this point imo.I don’t think a lot of people realize (on Mother’s Day of all days!) how good most mothers are at pushing through when stuff like this happens. So that’s why it raises red flags when they abandon ship like she did.
They both have stories that don’t add up or in his case contradict previous statements. We just don’t know why. (In my opinion)
And he also said to a different reporter (I’ll try to find it) that he didn’t know why she left. So that made me wonder if she left first and then the fight happened. An older article..
“..Martell said that after the disappearance, the children's mother left the area to be with her family in another part of the province and has blocked him on social media.
He said there was an argument between the two families out in the yard of the home that day.
"My mother had to kick … some people off the property 'cause they were saying that I did it, I had something to do with it, and I'm the only one here fighting for them, which is sad," he said.
…"
He makes it sound like the fighting is the reason why she left the home.
Interesting that he says her family is accusing him of “it” when both initially reported they were together in bed when they (paraphrasing) realized they couldn’t hear the kids and then discovered they were missing from the yard. jmo

You’re on it with the “It” I just don’t know if that’s allowed.
The last part about them being in bed it’s also interesting to note that he said he heard them in the kitchen playing and lily came in the room a few times and he told her that they need to be quiet… My issue with that is that he then claims he jumped out of bed as soon as he couldn’t hear them.
Why would them doing what you told them to do be the thing that triggers you to think something is wrong?
As literally every parent knows. Total silence is always a red flag. There is a difference between the kids being quiet and silence.
Then it would likely say something likeIt's possible that the children were capable of undressing/dressing themselves, hence the parents not being able to confirm what they may have been wearing at the time of their disappearance.
You can make that argument but it’s a red flag to me.There is a difference between the kids being quiet and silence.
Well, how could he have abducted the kids when they (presumably) went to bed together and then woke up together? Not to mention what you document above re hearing them in the kitchen and Lilly coming in the room, etc. (I recall reading that, too, but if I recall, this information came out in subsequent reporting.)And he also said to a different reporter (I’ll try to find it) that he didn’t know why she left. And how quickly can little 4 year-old legs move if he actually jumped up right away? You can make that argument but it’s a red flag to me.
If I give any credence to their version of events I'd argue that maybe Mom was supposed to be sleeping with the baby and Dad was supposed to be watching the kids and dropped the ball.Well, how could he have abducted the kids when they (presumably) went to bed together and then woke up together?
