What did that video reveal? Location, people, behaviours, interaction between them or the kids or others?
A case in Ontario quite a few years back had zero suspects, but a lonely cigarette butt with small amt of DNA.......... years passed, then one night a guy got drunk and decided to brag about the murder he committed...... caught! and guess who's DNA it was?
So patience is a virtue, good memories a must and surveillance surveillance surveillance!.
Something is up with the mother, and I'm sure we will soon hear. I wonder if she has mental health issues, and is taking counsel from legal people, but she certainly has no need for a lawyer. She hasn't been charged with anything, unless she is seeking advice on how to end her common law relationship and legalities with their joint daughter. I hope she is getting great counselling for everything legal, and mental in grieving etc.

Would they be allowed to remove anything if trailer is being regarded a crime scene or potential for a crime scene? I think of the Sherman home that was demolished without so much as hankering for a familiar object or something from their childhood, not to mention the potential for evidence that was overlooked even while case is still an active one.... just levelled..... I understand all the horrid thoughts of what took place in that house, but to disregard their youth or momentos of parents? Says a ton to me!

If it was considered a crime scene it would be completely taped off with police tape and certainly the media would’ve noticed. And at no point in time did we see police collecting anything from the home or forensics scouring the home so that tells me it’s not considered a crime scene. I don’t think there’s any such thing as a potential crime scene, if police deem it a crime scene they’d secure it to maintain its security.

So does MBM exit the ambulance and leave with her mother or does her mother get in the ambulance to accompany her and on the road it goes? It could be read either way.

ETA IIRC Someone was good enough to post a transcript of that May 3rd update by the RCMP. That was when it was announced Major Crimes was joining up. Does anyone recall where it’s posted? Might be interesting to see what’s said in the first half.

I've been thinking about writing this, but due to the tone and general consensus here, I didn't. But, heck, I'll say it.

I recall following the Tori Stafford case very closely, here on WebSleuths, as it unfolded. We were all convinced her mother was guilty. There was no other possibility.

The guilt I felt when it came to light that little Tori had actually been aducted, after school, by a woman—Terri-Lynne McClintic—ran deep.

I share this to say, that despite that feeling of knowing you may have in your heart, there is always a possibility that the parents are not the ones responsible. Something to keep in mind, IMO.

Like Isabel Celis, who went missing in Tucson, AZ. My heart broke for the parents who were harassed and "under suspicion" from trolls for YEARS despite many people (bosses, jobs, other family and community members) giving stellar character references. Turns out a sex offender did it, may he rot behind bars in agony.

Good thinking. Where did she go, and why? And where is she now?
Did anyone/media see LE actually search the property? Or any Ident LE go into trailer? Or grandmothers trailer?

Am I assuming hard drugs or weapons weren’t found as no one was arrested? Permission for search inside must have been given, or was trailer even searched by LE? Did they just take parents say so that they ckd?
So if they have no evidence now, they’ll not get a search warrant to get back in that trailer (probably scrubbed by now).

So if parents are responsible where did it happen? Does the trailer fit into the most logical spot statistically? Given the timelines, I don’t think it’s probable.

in conclusion, if they weren’t murdered by parents, or got lost on their own in bush, or abducted by a stranger, it only leaves ..abducted by a known person, or sold.
The last two certainly lends to those kids being alive. Maybe it’s time to start poster/tv campaigns. Interpol. Amber alert. Someone might have seen them.
And once again…eyes and ears. Maybe LE could set up road barriers to ask drivers if they saw these kids or saw them on their road? Hand out flyers at stores, mall, restaurants etc.

Here is the street view of their house. I traveled down the street both ways for a while and there is nothing around but woods. I'm in the camp where either 1) their deaths were covered up by some family member or 2) possibly cougars. Cougars typically hunt and kill deer, but if they were around their house and saw an easy prey, like little children, they would grab and run with them.

Cougars are an endangered species in Nova Scotia and the logging industry could possibly cover up sightings because they would be shut down.

This is a link to historical data from a near(ish) weather station. I remember it being very cold and rainy and terrible and thinking about children being outside in those conditions especially with the lack of clothing they were apparently wearing, and shedding tears and wondering if they could have survived the conditions. On paper this may not look as bad as is felt at the time.

I'm Canadian from the opposite end of the Country. My province has multiple legal databases making it possible for us to view daily court lists, completed court lists, and basic court records for any arrest leading to charges laid. Not sure if anything similar is available in Nova Scotia, but might be worth looking into.

I've been thinking of the speculation surrounding the mom leaving half way through the update on May 3rd , one day after her kids go missing .

We know i gather from verified media reports that she sat in the back of an ambulance and then left the area with her mom ,the kids maternal grandmother .

Usually these update meetings are held so investigators and search teams and families can come together and update each other on theories and what if any evidence has been found sometimes a hypothesis is offered . This could be when LE ruled out the possibility of it being a stranger abduction which leaves only the other possibility that they came to harm from someone they knew or the obvious they got out of the yard by themselves and wandered off .

My thinking is the mom had a panic attack and sat in the back of the ambulance to be monitored for a period as to make sure it was not any other medical emergency such as heartattack or symptoms of a poisoning for example.

If LE stated at that meeting that they were 100% positive this wasn't a stranger abduction, in the mind of mum and grandmother what alternative does that leave. The stepdad or his family harmed them .

Emotions are high . Thinking is not logical . Every small or big argument you have had with a partner over the kids particularly one who is not a bio parent will come to the fore . You will be in a negative thought pattern ,suddenly every criticism of the kids no matter how small is huge.

Comments such as "Jack needs to learn to use a toliet properly and stop using pull ups " Lilly never eats all her dinner , you need to discipline her more " become magnified in moms head and turned into Daniel never liked my kids , he was always picking on them etc etc . Grandmother agrees and says let's get you and baby out of here I don't trust that family I never liked them and off they go (. Just for clarity this is a scenario made completely from my imagination )

Did the relatives arguing and accusations being made happen before the update or after ?



In my view the account of mom and stepdad both in bed is a lie . I think mom was asleep and while stepdad may have been in and out of the bedroom . I believe he was up earlier and prehaps through the haze of half asleep half awake mom recalls stepdad not being in the bed but she doesn't know what time or if she dreamt it . Imo there is a time she can't account for Daniel being present and that's what's bugging her .

I have a feeling those kids are still on the property. Hidden but dead

But HOW and WHY do you kill two kids in the morning while the mother is sleeping in the other room? This setting really does not sound like something you plan for that purpose. If it was not planned ahead, how do you kill them without the mother hearing a thing? How do you kill both half-accidentally?

I'm not saying that any family members did or did not harm the kids, I really have no idea. But that particular scenario (or any other so far) I just can't make it work in my head.

I think they would have been found if they were on the property. The most logical explanation, I think, is they are in the forest but maybe hidden or outside the search zone.

Considering the noise they make if you give them the wrong spoon or they scrape a knee.

I am baffled too. I cannot work out what might have happened. I just do not think they both wandered into the woods.
