I was referring to him telling the media it was himself and the children's mother that the children were seen with in public, the afternoon prior to them disappearing.

Since RCMP has stated they've confirmed the public sighting and have video, it would be insanely stupid of DM to lie about it.

You're right of course, but we've seen criminals do insanely stupid things before.

I am in no way saying he's a criminal.

I'm seeing some posts wondering about post-partum issues. That seems less likely, given that the youngest child is 18 months old, though I expect it's different for every woman.

If the mom was mentally unstable, then child welfare would have determined that she was unfit to care for the youngest child, and the toddler would have been removed from her care. That hasn't happened.

I get the vibe he's angry about being accused.

IMO he seems like he is being honest - at least about knowing where the kids are. I'm sure he's not walking a straight and narrow line but I get the vibe of more drug related or petty theft crimes than something like this. He seems like a pretty basic, average, rural Canadian dude. Likely no college, blue collar, and IMHO probably not the sharpest tool in the shed. I have a super hard time believing this man has thwarted LE for a month and is secretly a criminal mastermind that was able to make not 1 but 2 children, disappear without a trace.

Statistically theses cases are domestic in nature and there are too many red flags in this case that point to such. Theres no way LE haven't fully investigated all family members and probably have a hunch of what happened but without proof they can't lay charges and without charges they can't hold them.

I think postpartum depression was only hypothetically suggested . Just for reference I'm posting a link with information on postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis which are entirely two different types . While they can cause brain fog , confusion ,nowhere can I find that a person would have a mental blackout . Wasn't the baby about 18 months though and generally the negative thoughts of mums who do suffer with this would have to do with harming themselves or the new baby .

It's possible to not remember what you did in a psychosis, yes. You can have no memory, disjointed memories, or total recall, it varies. I've had clients not remember anything at all, like they were blackout drunk, and it was terrifying for them.

LOL, that was one of the first things I noticed! I think it's just generic Maritimer face. As someone who's family is also from a very rural area in the Maritimes, our family trees don't always have a lot of branches, if you catch my drift.

I've been thinking about writing this, but due to the tone and general consensus here, I didn't. But, heck, I'll say it.

I recall following the Tori Stafford case very closely, here on WebSleuths, as it unfolded. We were all convinced her mother was guilty. There was no other possibility.

The guilt I felt when it came to light that little Tori had actually been aducted, after school, by a woman—Terri-Lynne McClintic—ran deep.

I share this to say, that despite that feeling of knowing you may have in your heart, there is always a possibility that the parents are not the ones responsible. Something to keep in mind, IMO.

I live in the same town and have mutual social media friends with Tori's mom & dad both. The public criticism they endured was horrific, and none of it was true. I always keep this in mind when publicly sharing my opinion on cases like Jack and Lilly's.

Has the yards belonging to mother in law , brother and mom and step dad throughly been searched . I suppose what I mean is an invasive search of the grounds .

In the pictures of the property, there is lots of hiding places for two small children either by the hand of another whom harmed them or by misadventure by the kids themselves


I was thinking of the speculation around neglect and criticism of the children being absent from school . I wouldn't really see a one or two day absence as neglect or bad parenting but if absences happened on a regular basis , weekly or even monthly I may question their parenting in regards to whether or not there was abuse or negligence .

If the kids did wander I can't see them being further than the area searched considering Daniel alleges he was hot on their tail when the home fell quiet of children's chatter . Prehaps if they thought they were in trouble for leaving the yard they may not respond to him calling out their names . It would be interesting to know if mom also went out calling their names . Again it depends on who may have been the enforcer of discipline or punishments, who they would respond to quicker in a scenario where they have gone were they are not suppose to

I have two niggling feelings that won't go away . I'm more thinking because it's two children that they have come to harm by someone's hand that was known to them or abducted and unharmed by moms family to prehaps steer her away from DM .

In some countries video footage would be released of the last outing in public so as people might remember more from a visual perspective rather than recalling from memory. The only reason I see that this footage is not being released is because the kids had an interaction with someone LE have on their radar .This could even be a parent or step parent giving a slap on the bottom or maybe large amounts of alcohol being purchased etc

Where does the drugs accusations come from ? Is it rumours or what ?

From many of the links already posted, we know that the children's mom and younger sibling went to live with her mom, the grandmother of Lilly and Jack. We also know that the police asked the family not to speak to the media. The media has been very respectful of that. There is no media to support your implication that the toddler was picked up by child welfare services, and we certainly don't want to start such a rumour.

DM did say that CPS weren't allowing him to see the child though. So that could make people wonder if the child was in their care.

DM has said a lot of things. None of which can be supported because RCMP isn't saying anything. Per articles, both MDM and DM have been cautioned not to talk to the press/public about the ongoing investigation into the missing children per multiple statements by them and those around them. DM is again doing just that.

This leads to a lot of speculation based solely on DM's many public statements. He claims CAS will not allow him to see his daughter. We don't know that is true but it's hard to imagine why he would lie about such a thing. Certain other statements could be construed as self serving:

They (RCMP) aren't treating me like a suspect.
I'm the only one fighting for them (children).
I've insisted on a polygraph for everyone.
I've passed my poly.
etc.

But that statement that CAS won't allow him to see his child cannot be construed in that way since it does nothing but make him look suspect (smoke/fire). So I believe him when he says that because it doesn't make him appear to be a victim it makes one wonder WHY? JMO thoughts.
