He's a brilliant business man. In his own opinion. IMOTrump tariff timeline (my interpretation based on his announcements):
T: We're going to impose 25% tariffs against Canada and Mexico. Because.... (make up stuff about fentanyl at the border)
T: OK, Mexico and Canada have bowed to our demands, so far, so we will give them a 1 month reprieve.
T: Those scoundrels! They aren't bowing deep enough. Yes, I'm absolutely going to impose those tariffs, maybe.
T: We're down to the final day. Mexico and Canada are out of time so I am DEFINITELY imposing 25% tariffs on both of those scoundrels.
T: It's the day of, and, well, I might not impose ALL of the tariffs.
I believe that the market tanking and the farmers who need their fertilizer, and the manufacturers who need their aluminum and nickel, caused Trump to cave. His plan was ill-advised from the start. MOO.
Do you have a link to your pic source? I'd like to do some digging. Thank you.<modsnip>
Here is the estimate of the impact of tariffs on the US economy....just in Q1/2025. It's shocking, but not surprising.

Farmer here. Did not vote for Trump.Farmers Fear More Pain From Trump's Trade War
"Trump addressed such concerns (retaliatory tariffs) in a post on Truth Social, encouraging farmers to sell more products within the U.S...But farmers say that limiting sales to domestic markets would hinder their businesses and lower prices."
Have fun y'all. You farmers voted for this
Glad to hear that. Sorry that you are a pawn in this situation.Farmer here. Did not vote for Trump.
sorry Canada. We do not know why DJT is insulting all the allies- he was rude to the Queen in his first termIt's gunna hit both sides hard. I know our liquor stores took out American alcohol , we are hearing from our provinces about stopping electricity and gas and minerals sales . My partner works in a lumber mill , I know they are looking for selling across the ocean . I know in our grocery stores we are trying to stick to Canadian products , if there's none we will buy from other country's. I know for the first time we are seeing Australian cherrys. . We as Canadians are ticked at this and yep we are booing at sporting events . And tbh there's going to be a lot resentment when the tariffs end our relationship to the United States is now forever changed, as regular citizens we will probably stick to buying other countries product after the tariffs are done. But this is all my opinion as a Canadian consumer . Jmoo
