Donald Trump pulled back from his trade war with Mexico on Thursday, temporarily delaying tariffs on many goods from the country once again, but continued to attack Canada

It's just more nonsense. Delaying tariffs for a month is meaningless, illogical, and a contradiction of Donald's own words.

Donald claims that Mexico is a security threat, therefore tariffs are justified. The security threat is fantanyl and migrants. That problem obviously has not been resolved.

Today, Donald claims that the female leader in Mexico is nice to him, so he'll delay the scary security threat claims for a month. Donald doesn't know what he's doing, and he can't keep his story straight.

Actually lol I was surprised I didn't know you guys grew cherries and the red Allison grapes were soooo good .but it's also showing us (Canadians) that we have options and it only took two weeks to get the Aussie produce in stores thank you

A nearby town to me is called Orange and Cherries are one of the fruits that they are known for.
Just about every fruit you can think of is grown here, from tropical to cold climate fruits.

We've had times when there were fruit from other countries in the shops.
I remember being surprised to see oranges from California in Aldi a few times.

This drama with the USA is going to keep going on I don't think it will get better for a very long time. I think now that the trust between our borders are broken that there's no real way to come back from it. I can't see us trusting the USA .This is like a high school relationship gone bad jmvho

Donald started a war with 25% tariff tax on all Canadian goods. Canada retailated with some tariffs now, and more in 3 weeks. Now Donald thinks he has the upper hand, that he can remove tariff taxes on some goods, and Canada will remove all tariffs. That's not good enough.

This is how Donald negotiates when he doesn't get what he wants:

For anyone unfamiliar with Donald's obsession with dairy products, it's based on his desire to dump surplus dairy products in Canada. Canada has supply management on dairy products. We produce what we need. The USA does not have supply management, and over-produces. A small amount of that surplus is allowed in Canada at a 7.5% tariff - because Canada doesn't need it. Anything above that specified quota is subject to a 270% tariff. This is a deterrent - a strong message to the USA that Canada does not need or want surplus USA dairy products.

Donald is really angry that he cannot dump unregulated surplus dairy in Canada. He's been really angry about this since the G7 meeting in 2018. Donald has probably used a lot of "profanity more than once" because he cannot bully Canada over dairy products. Most countries rely on supply management regarding dairy products. The USA should do the same.

As a US citizen I plan to boycott anything coming from Canada or Mexico. Looking through my cabinets and my routine purchases, I don't see but one or two items that I have purchased in the last year. They were from Mexico, specialty food products.

I live on the east coast, fruit and vegetables are abundant even in winter months, our gas and oil prices are very low. We have more than enough lumber. There's actually a lumber company in my area that was purchased by Canadians. They only employ Canadians, rotating them in and out every 3 months and all the lumber is exported to Canada. All the Canadian workers have been extremely nice, so very polite and participate in many local activities. We've learned about their families, follow when they're returning. It's white oak, sort of a rare very strong oak.

I paid 2.50 for gas on Sunday, lowest in years.

I'm committed, we need to end drugs and illegal fentanyl from entering the US.

Concern is what this individual Musk might try to do with his unfettered role in DOGE and either within or alongside the current administration with Mr. Trump?

What measures might Musk employ or utilize to affect, influence, or protect his personal investments? Private companies he owns? Or….. to hamper or impede a competitor of his or their business interests?

IMO it is preposterous that Congress and others are not clamoring to remove Musk’s influence and ‘hand on the wheels’. IMO such an individual has no personal or private or public business being involved in such a manner. He should not have such access to the WH or Mr. Trump IMO.

As long as it's true that eliminating fentanyl will eliminate mental illness based illegal drug abuse in the USA, that's great.

In Canada, drug abuse is recognized as illness, and not something that can be cured by eliminating one illegal drug. Canadians recognize that drug abusers who are deprived of one illegal drug will find another illegal drug to use. Canadians take responsibility for citizens with mental illness drug problems. It makes no sense to Canadians to blame a foreign country for a domestic problem.

With all due respect, the US has its own severe drug problems as shown on tv, documentaries etc.

A lot of it is home grown, certainly not imported from Canada.

About .02 or .002 percent of fentanyl crossed the border from Canada IIRC.

Any amount is too much but this is made up nonsense coming from the White House. IMO

Yes, the dairy product situation has been a bone of contention for a while.

The US has subsidized dairy production for years, and a lot of it, especially cheeses, have gone to schools and food programs at no cost. This situation will probably vanish, as aid programs for domestic purposes will disappear, and farmers will be hurt by tariffs. The US probably won't have surpluses of many agricultural products with the way things are going. Neither Trump nor Canada will have any dairy product issue soon enough... JMO
