Agreed. From what I have read, most fentanyl is now made in China, and is smuggled to the US by sea or from Mexico. Mexican cartels also buy fentanyl raw ingredients/precursors from China, and prepare it for sale and smuggling via established routes. With all due respect, the US has its own severe drug problems as shown on tv, documentaries etc.
A lot of it is home grown, certainly not imported from Canada.
About .02 or .002 percent of fentanyl crossed the border from Canada IIRC.
Any amount is too much but this is made up nonsense coming from the White House. IMO
China is not inclined to stop the production of fentanyl. It might be viewed as a tactic to weaken an adversary. The history of the opium trade in China and its devastating consequences are a major part of their policies towards Western countries. It is used to fan resentment of the West.
Blaming Canada for fentanyl is ridiculous. In addition to China, the problem is a combination of corruption and poverty in Mexico, which has no easy solutions. The falsehoods emanating from my government now are reminiscent of Goebbels. JMO
