Perhaps but Canada has little choice. The alternative, to take DJT's threats without retaliatory measures, would be humiliating to the people of Canada. To just let them be bullied would weaken the resolve of Canadian people. Now, we see a unified, strong Canada. Their people need that.
In addition, somebody needs to stand up to Trump, otherwise imho big-time worldwide problems will ensue, probably even for US-Americans.

Unfortunately Freeland is hated in Alberta,
A shame. She's even from Alberta originally. I agree with someone upthread @otto maybe, that she's got a lot going for her - experience and so on. JMO

He might have difficulty reading cursive writing. That's common today although, at the age of 78, Donald should know cursive. Maybe he needs glasses - it's worth checking next time we see him talking to someone whether he has focused eyes, or a general direction look.
I imagine D's problems run far deeper than dyslexia or needing new glasses. Just saying.

Noooo, don't do it Canada!
Canadians neither want nor need US dairy products. We don't do growth horomones up here.

We regulate our production so that our Dairy Farmers produce what is required for Canadian Consumers. We don't have to 'pour out' unused milk.

Our system also allows for a slighty higher than consumption rate which sees any of the small surlpus' go to things like producton of powdered milk, powdered coffee creamers etc. Powdered milk is then utilized by any Canadian consumer who happens to want it, then is supplied to under-developped nations as part of our Foreign Aid package and Disaster Recovery programs. And baby food!! I recall we did ship a lot of that south for that purpose during Covid due to a US shortage of baby foods.

Waste not / want not. IMO.

This is probably a bad time to be considering a trip to the Candadian Maritimes for a US citzen. (Hangs head in shame)

I'd also thought about a cruise in the Mediterranean, but I'm not so sure Europe will want us USAnians there, either. And the dollar may be in the trash by then.
From what I've been reading on social media, Canadians are fine about US citizens visiting, so long as you don't loudly support DJT and his policies, 'joke' about the 51st state and generally act totally cluelessly about the sovereign nation to the north of you.

I haven't lived in Canada for a long time, so I can't guarantee, but I'm sure the Maritimes would be happy to get your tourist dollars too.

Certain cruise destinations in the Mediterranean are absolutely over-run with tourists and the locals are getting a bit ticked off, apparently, tho that's not against US citizens in particular. Canada's a great place to visit!

I will not step foot in the USA for many years. (Perhaps the rest of my life, since I'm not a spring chicken anymore.)
There are many wonderful places in the States. There are many wonderful people in the States.
BUT, there are many horrible people, and many complacent people, in the States and it doesn't seem that anyone is trying seriously to stop the fascist runaway train that is the US administration. Americans, in general, don't give a crap about most of their fellow citizens, let alone people in other countries. It's a "me, me, me" culture. Sadly. I wish it wasn't so. JMO.

While the talk here on this thread is about the incredible damage and threat that the US is doing to Canada, supposedly their closest friend and ally, this threat applies to the rest of the democratic world. Has this message gotten through to most Americans? I'm thinking it hasn't, but then I'm not there and I don't hear what people are talking about 'around the water-cooler'.

Well, the job of every civil servant is being threatened. The grounds used to terminate employees now are often illegal. Probationary employees can be terminated for poor performance, but many who lost their jobs had stellar performance, and proof of it. Certain veterans and disabled veterans cannot be terminated casually.

The scientists are afraid that they will be terminated without cause, which is a real possibility, regardless of tenure. JMO

There's also polio making a comeback .
Next , it will be Cholera and then to finish everyone off, a bit of high speed Ebola . ( no cure for that ) ..
Heck we've even had one case of Rubella. Ya know, just like the good ol' days.
oh, just peachy , ey?... nothin like a bit of Rubella to have camps set up on the pavement , with the terrible sounds of moaning children, losing their minds and their souls in utter agony, some of whom wake up to a lifetime of diminished and damaged intellect, all the little boys sterile, all the little girls disabled, ... and no universal health care, either, grief stricken parents on their own..

....it's like Bulgaria, 1924.

Some Americans probably. I wish it were more visible but maybe it is in parts of the US but it is not being reported? Like massive demonstrations?

Yeah, from what I'm seeing the US mainstream media is noticeably absent reporting on protests around the country. People have to get louder and bolder, otherwise American democracy is doomed. And they'll take the rest of the democratic world with them.

That's going to cost billons to fix eventually. Perhaps billions in lawsuit payouts too.

I've no issues with cutting spending and waste from budgets, but that's not what seems to be happening. It's just burning the entire place down IMO.

There many large and small demonstrations/protests, some I do see are locally newsed photographed, but true when you say this, seems NOT that loud and boldly put out there. Been going on a while. Lots of calling, emailing to our local political reps to both parties, prob not from magas though of course. It is def happening but the senators and representatives have to act on what their people are doing and saying, they do not want to lose votes if do nothing, like STAND UP.
