DNA and dental records for identification when/if they need it yes, but not private details about illness? The police don't have an automatic right to know their medical history.
Didn’t police know all the details about Nicola Bulley’s medical history? I know they were heavily criticised for sharing it with the media but my point being that they knew. Unless of course it came from her partner.

It looks like this was revealed by the family

I don’t know what I think of the lost a lot of weight comments.

There are older pictures of them where they are incredibly thin, almost look unhealthy, thing hair, sunken faces etc. the 3rd looks similar sometimes also. I don’t really feel like this is a point to run with yet.

The only real “new” development is that they don’t appear to be as close with the family as initially indicated.

That could mean they wouldn’t pick up on suicide, other activity whatever but they just weren’t as close.

They do. Usually after 72 hours, they can directly without permission depending on the circumstances ie may be a theory for disappearance and or can ask the permission of next of kin if it doesn’t meet the test. Either way, they will have. They will have likely taken DNA swabs from the apartment too, if they don’t already have them.

If they did take DNA swabs from the apartment, how do they know whose DNA is whose? If they are identical, will testing be able to differentiate the two sisters’ DNA?

Along with this line of thinking (I hope this isn’t too insensitive of me to inquire)—say only one body is found. Will they be able to know for certain which twin it is?

I guess it would depend on perhaps any medical treatment they may have sought for example a previous broken bone, or perhaps any distinctive differences like a mole.

Yes, they can.
Tl;dr is, that while identical twins normally start off as identical, they don't really stay 100.00% identical in their DNA during the development.

Theresa Machemer. Many Identical Twins Actually Have Slightly Different DNA In a new study of over 300 pairs of identical twins, only 38 had perfectly identical DNA .

Something that stuck out for me in the latest article is that the sister (sorry I can't remember which one) who was a cleaner gave her notice and left her job by text message. I initially wondered if the text message they sent before they disappeared was unusual behaviour for them but it seems like it might not be. The circumstances surrounding the text message might be more unusual than the text message itself. Having said that, it's possible they did regularly walk around for whatever reason late in the night. It seems like not many people knew then, including their family, so anything is possible.

I was also interested to read the part where the ex-boss states the pictures of the sisters provided in the press don't look them now and that one of the sisters is currently very thin. It brings me back to the CCTV image. When I first saw the CCTV image I didn't automatically think either of them look overly thin. Although it might just be a crappy CCTV camera that's stretched the image I actually wondered if they had put on a bit of weight (in a healthy way) since the other released photos had been taken.

Thing is it would be difficult to establish whose DNA is whose from any samples they’ve taken. For example they wouldn’t know whose toothbrush is whose.

From the article above.

I wouldn't trust what that retired detective said in that article as he also said this "Double suicide can be ruled out, as the members of the search team would have found clues." Which is nonsense.

I wouldn't trust any article using information from Blikk.

Yes. But the same would apply to any pair of sisters or brothers without children, that part is not specific to them being twins - to confirm DNA, they need to have the DNA to compare to. If they don't have a comparison to the person, they can use genealogy, but this method is unable to differenciate between people who have only the same relatives of the same degree in the same combination.

The article from the Hungarian reporter is really the first to expand a little bit on the sisters. Of course it's only one report and we don't know how accurate it is. That said it does more and more look like they were pretty close and kept themselves to themselves mainly. Certainly not many people seem to know them even in their local Hungarian community. Very rarely seeing their family in person is another area of possible concern.

It's possible now, but takes a bit more work.

And this is why we won’t be knowing any time soon if the sisters had any possible relevant medical history or current medical issues!

I said this before but there is someone else that notes living in Aberdeen and has the same last name and is from Hungary.

I’m not sure I ever got this answer but is this unique or would this be fairly common last name to relocate from Hungary to Aberdeen?

It’s possible it’s further discussed in the chat or whatever but I am not in that
